  1. Cheers for the heads up Latino, I assumed that it was this. Hopefully I can convince her to drive the car down to AutoSport. I think I have been there for a Dyno Night with SilviaNSW. Thanks Josh
  2. Hey Greg, Pardon my ignorance, but where is Autosport located? Cheers Josh
  3. Hey People, Have a little bit of a problem. I work overseas most of the year which means the missus drives the R34 every now and then. I recently got a phone call from her saying the 3 lights on the dash are staying on. TCS, SLIP and Engine Light. The TCS and SLIP are probably because 1 tyre has a very slow leak and the pressure's are way to low compared to the front. But the engine light has got me worried, she said that there is no noticeable change in engine sound and performance. So i need a workshop in the hills area that can check the car's diagnosis for me so I know how serious the problem is and whether I wait until I come back to repair it myself or pay a workshop. (I am a mechanic) I know hornsby Nissan can do this, but i know dealership's like that will definately give her a hard time (I was a service adviser nearby hehe) So any workshop people can suggest for me to send her to? Thanks Josh
  4. ^^ I agree, but what I have seen on a lot of Nissan engines with a timing belt setup is that if it is to tight it can snap the little stud that holds your tensioner pully on. Ive seen a lot of heads been destroyed from this! -Josh
  5. Doesn't the R34 have the little LED lights on the ECU like the silvia's?? -Josh
  6. ohh yeah, must have over looked that thread! Cheers Josh
  7. He doesn't have Anti Lag, Had a gutted cat, and we tried several different guages. If the timing was really bad I would of been able to tell the lack of power or it pinging off it's head!! It did make a pretty cool noise with the turbo spooling at stationary!! -Josh
  8. Cheers for that SydneyKid, I will check the pressures over the weekend with a proper guage. Thanks for the correction also! -Josh
  9. Hey People, I have a set of the HKS Coilovers that allow you to adjust the pressure of gas which will increase/decrease the rebound of the shock. When I took them out I found there was very little rebound in them. I have looked on the HKS website for any sort of specs for gas pressure. Can anyone here let me know what pressure I should run in them Front and Rear?? Cheers Josh
  10. Ok back to the Boost subject, what would cause a vehicle to boost at idle? Have a friend with an R32GTSt and it will make around 5-8psi on idle. Would it be something like retarded timing?? -Josh
  11. Spotted a black R32 with P Plates on Cumberland HWY in smithfield today. You got some wide rear rubber there buddy! -Josh
  12. What about some sort of MSD ignition setup? -Josh
  13. I bought mine off slide! Cheap and they arrived fairly quickly also! I got front and the sides together! I would love to know where I can get crystal rear reverse lights!
  14. Spotted a white R33 with FMIC in Dural, plates were AME-XXX -Josh
  15. Would insurance cover a blown engine from theft? If they did it would be all rebuilt to nissan spec and parts yeah? -Josh
  16. Yours does seem pretty high! Especially as you rev higher, Oil pressure isn't supposed to climb that high when reving a car, that's what the relief valve controls. I would definitely start checking it out. You might start popping seals etc. -Josh
  17. Was fastly overtaken by a White R33 on Old Northern Road tonight, looked sorta stock, maybe a FMIC and exhaust, he had a tailight out. -Josh
  18. I know its a fair drive away, but has anyone heard or been on the Oxley Highway? It's way up north, roughly 4 hours from the hills area. -Josh
  19. Had a white R33 GTR V-Spec follow me this arvo on Old Northern road around 3. Plates where GTR-33V -Josh
  20. My 34 is about 5/6 when cold and sits at 3/4 when at operating temp. Maybe the 34's have a different valve? -Josh
  21. Spotted a Yellow Stagea with FMIC on Old Northern Road this morning near Dural Macca's. -Josh
  22. I Had a white R33 S2? following behind me for a tiny bit on Sunnyhollt Rd tonight, then he just disapeard! -Josh
  23. I had a similar problem but on a RB30, it was a faulty wire that kept the injector open. -Josh
  24. They put compressed air down each cylinder when it is on TDC (both valves closed) and you will get a reading of pressure lost. Then you will be able to hear/see it come from various places, Coolant, Exhaust, Engine Oil Cap and across other cylinders. It is a much better way of checking engine health over a compression test. Most decent workshops will be able to do it, just make sure they have a guage, some don't so you will not know for sure how much your loss is. Hope that helps -Josh
  25. Spotted a blue R33 with kit FMIC and a black bonnet on Gilbert Road Castle Hill this arvo -Josh
