  4. Its funny how the costs and your losses may change your mind in being different. It is all good though..at least you asked the question...and then questioned your thoughts. 18K for a gtr32.....make sure you get it looked at...or Buy my Nephews one...and you know you have to fix the motor.   5. Ok,,,you buy leather in a hide. Does not come off a roll..unless the cow has been rolled for 20 metres...lol You can buy a Half hide from some companies..but most will try to sell you a full hide. The prices will vary from $29 per square meter to $70 per square meter. There are many types and grains to choice...colours and finishes. The lower priced items up to $40 a square meter are the corrected grain type. Corrected grain is when they re-work the surface before they dye it...normally they do this because the skin is bad. There is also split hides available..but stay away from these. Split hides are sliced into two....the good pieces go into making clothes and the bottom is worked and dyed and normally ends up in the Import Leather chairs...OMG...it just goes on..lol I run a office chair manufacturing business.....we use some from time to time, so I am only giving you a brief explanation. The product..if it is for a car..should have UV protection...this is normally more expensive than just household stuff. How many square meters are you after....?
  6. If you are thinking of buying one..make sure you get it to a performance workshop. They will tell you if its fake or not. Some time ago I read a magazine..centreof the mag was an article about a guy who converted the whole car from a gtst to gtr. I think the title read...Great pretender...or something like that.

Back to the topic..if your going to use new cams etc.....GTRS may not give you the best potential. Read and learn.
  8. OK..now you are getting there. Now this is what I may do soon. My Nephews motor has shit itself in his GTR32..like most of them do(this one has a melted piston). Buy his car with the busted motor..already has N1's Group A turbo's Great set of rims/suspension and FMIC with pod filters already attached.(all after-market) A re-build..with forged internals/new pump/collar/PFC maybe throw in some cams..if the money allows. A quick touch up to some skirts etc..and polish......Drive the GTR 13K for car..10K for re-build ..23K all up What I would not do....lol Put a RB26 in a Gtst..no 4 wheel drive,need lots of mods to get it to fit and work...diff,gear/box/etc etc..a nightmare. Brake upgrade/Rims.OMG the list is huge. But hey its your money so do as you please... 8K for car..25K for motor/gear/box/clutch/turbo's/PFC/ etc etc etc 33K. Now I go to sell my GTR32..I get 22K...you go to sell your gtst..you get 12K Add it up now..10K(You spent more than me)..plus the resale value..another 10K You have lost 20K and I lost only 1K.

  14. DOES IT MATTER DOES ANYTHING REALLY MATTER What matters is people like us just exchanging our thoughts and opinions of why this and how that...... Lets face it gents.....until we can drive these machines....we can never be able to give a true opinion. And as for my 10 top cars..I have driven 3...GTR,RX7 S8 and Dodge Viper... BTW...I believe if you are driving a 11 or even 12 second car daily your doing pretty good..especially if your set up for some mild track work as well.
  15. Get genuine Nissan parts where possible...it might be a bit more expensive but you know they have lasted till your so called 100K... In my opinion try 200K..just my opinion though. Oh...don't delay your service..I did mine the week I got the car. PS..don't confuse yourself....get your service first.. Cams will be no good with your stock turbo...and gears will have no impact as well. SERVICE AIR INTAKE/EXHAUST UPGRADE TURBO UPGRADE PFC/BOOST CONTROLLER TUNE AND DRIVE

  20. You can't have 19's with a 45 profile...your cars speedo will be out. As far as roadworthy issues go...you can only upgrade 1"width on rim..1" width on tyre...and 1"depth of rim.. You will need to read your tyre plate...to work out this. IE..if the car has 16 inch rims.6.5"depth with 195/55 tyres and has never been offered from the factory with anything else. You will only be able to go 17 inch rims with 7.5" depth 215/45 tyres..that is if you ever want a roadworthy. Having said this,most cars have more than 1 type of rim and tyre combination offered,mostly larger on the up spec models. So you are able to use this as a starting point and say that it had the upgraded rims before you changed over. I am only talking on the Victorian Laws and may not apply to other states.. Cheers PS..don't run anything above 18" on a skyline(GTST) nor 225 tyres otherwise your profile will be 35 giving you a bad ride. The mm you are talking about is not measured in mm but a percentage of the width of the tyre..ie..225/40 has a height on the tyre of 90mm(40% of the tyres width)
  21. How many R34 Gtr's do you think were ever built? I believe it was stated once before here(9000 units) Somebody please correct me if I am off. A flood of them...no...you are mistaken...there were never built in the numbers of the R32GTR.(43,394 units)...
  22. I am now very curious... Why are you selling your cams when you want to install them? Why are you looking for all these items when you don't want your cams. Or have I missed something?
  23. Porsche..is another kettle of fish..without its 4 Wheel drive...canyenne they would have had to sell up... It is not the 911 that makes them money at all...... Anywayz....as for the comment about everything being around on a 911 porsche for years... that is purely because the buyers demanded the shape to stay the same and not change. Although I believe this hurt there sales in the long run...
  24. I expected it to be 180K + this was when the Australian dollar was at 65cUS....luckily for us we hit 87c and came back to 83c. Anyway ,unless it is 100% it will be on sale here(ie in the showroom) then we will see the real price. Lets face it options cost money....sat/nav,rear/sensors/camera,zennon lights etc etc. Would like to see what options they will have on the gtr and the pricing for them. Judging by BMW and Merc...expect mats to cost 1K+,metallic paint 2K+ and sat/nav 4K+ Most who have that kind of dollar to spend on a car put on at least 20K on in a blink of an eye, and we are still talking not on road price(correct me if I am wrong). OPTION 1 135K+20K(options)+10K(on road)+10K(Insurance)=170K OPTION 2 less approx 35K Can't see why a GTR34 will drop in price because everyone can afford a GTR(08)...
  25. Since 50K...what did it do between 0 to 50K ...200K. If your service history is lost or began at 50K...they have tampered with the books. If you have your service history of the car since new...stamped and written in the owners manual then you might be right....I have a mechanic that can stamp a few services in with made up odometer readings. Anyway,good luck with your car and keep up the services if you intend to drive it daily.
