Looks like there is much room to the left and right of the front bar, why didnt you choose those locations? with sutable ducting it should work the same if not better as the whole front bar should be a high pressure area.

when ever my car is dynoed it is entered from a BP guage. I can then assume that it does effect the final HP as it is used as a correction.

Poor Rb20det, Finaly Being Put Back Together...
GTR1993 replied to carl h's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
chances are that those brass fitings with sutable rubber hose will be 100% fine but i prefer to use braided hose for stuff like that, just makes me sleep at night. (i have used rubber hose in oil cooler applications that are that hot and pressurized with no problems so you will still be fine, but i still like braided even as its astronomical price) -
Just being picky but its Trust not thrust, will help when you goto buy some. Autobarn (as much as i think they are retarded) hare distributors of trust so they can help you,

Dba 5000 Series Slotted Part Number...
GTR1993 replied to J-Boy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i have had a look at the DBA catalogue i think they are only avalible for the 324x30mm disc not the earlier 296x32mm disc so you may be out of luck. adress for the catalogue is http://www.dba.com.au/dba_catalogue_2004/H...00_21072004.pdf Also i have a 94 GTR and i have the older smaller discs so i dont know whats going on there either. Maby someone can shine some light on the matter? -

Catch Can Install Options (with Pics)
GTR1993 replied to itbmils's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ill take a pic of my one, option 3 style. It had a chinese catch can on it, the inlet hole was littereally 3mm, pressurizing the crank case, was pushing some oil out the turbos on hard acceleration as you back off, i removed the catch can and let the pipes come stright out for a test run, no smoke nothing. So i constructed a free flowing catch can system works well. I bought the filter for 30-40 (k and N) sheet of alloy for 20 (could make 4 catch cans easy) 1m pipe of alloy for the filter attacment (8 bucks) then 50 to get it all tigged up then i polished it my self -
ok where abouts are you located i can meet u like in city if you want? make it easier. If not ill make sure im home on monday or when ever you want to come past. ill pm you my number

definatly a power difference Auto trans has more losses associated with the trans in its design, the torque converter slips continuosly (unless it locks up like newer cars in top gear) slip is probably around 6%, other losses as in the planetary gears i think are quite low compared to the converter where majority of power is lost. In a manual transmition car just the frictional forces loose some power, but it is sort of 'direct drive' as there is no slipping components (unless your clutch is worn out)

What Part Is This In My Engine Bay?
GTR1993 replied to matteh33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
catches or converts evaporations from the fuel tank i belive -
my cat light on my r32 gtr is just permenantly on no matter if the car iss tone cold, not that it matters as i have no cat, anyone explaine this? edit dont worry i fixed it, it seems that the boost control option was on in the power fc, when i turn it off the light goes away, so it seems r32 does use cat light as warning light for the fc.

I am no expert but would be greatly stronger as you can add material where you like, run no water galleries if its a drag car, more studs in bottom end caps/girdle. Tie in the end caps fromt he side of the block as well. As its custom you dont work around things that the factory had to like cost etc. I have seen a 1UZ (i think was in zoom) custom billit block as they were splitting the stock blocks. Also off the top of my head there was a custom 4 cylinder motor made for a drag can in the USA, custom billit block running nitro, It was new set up as he was using motec and going to run in some sports compact class (cant rember details hopefully someone can post a link to the video) something like 2000 hp is i remember correctly. http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&...earch&meta= that is a link to the 1UZ block but im not a member of lextreme to view... http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0202tur_...nnycar_integra/ that link for for the nitro 4 cylinder, 4000 hp, it says the block of alloy is over 1000 dollars by its self, im not sure how much machining would be if it would be under 7000. They have no coolant or oil drain back so for anything other then drag for a few seconds its no good. I was just saying for 7000 for a block it opens up a few more options.
-
for 7000 i would be looking into a custom made block, place in adelaide is looking into (or made) billit SR blocks and billit SR inlet manifolds, blocks were going to be around 5000 i think.

good work, if you need my adress pm me, as i cant rember if i sent to you or not, thanks

Front Calliper Extension Brackets
GTR1993 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have the 296x32mm disc on my GTR (gtr is a 1994 and dba says i should have the larger but thinner discs what the?) but anyway is there any simple bracket upgrade that will allow me to use a larger disc? The 324mm ones from the newer GTR are 30 mm rather then 32mm this would pose a problem? I would be interested in going to the 343x32 (hsv rotor just looking at the dba catalogue?) but will these fit under a 17" bbs rim? Thanks for any help. -
they only filter out small rocks, everything else gets sucked in.
-
i always thought forged.

hey, you have my shipping adress im not sure if i gave it to you yet? Thanks

Power Fc, Datalogit, And The Ugly Bitch, Knock.
GTR1993 replied to The Mafia's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Iv had experience the other way on my GTR, when i got it and was retuning it up top there was a big knock (at only 17 deg ignition advance) clearly could head it and the power fc didnt pick it up at all.
