I totally agree... Step 1 is the hardest part... I have to say tho choosing a turbo is alot like making a sandwich. I mean first there is the filling (size of compessor and turbine) then you got the sauce (housing sizes) salt & pepper (flange type) then the type of bread (brand of turbo).... I get so confused some times that i reckon ill stick to sandwich's cause they make me happy too. But seriouslly i have been tossing up inbetween keeping the high flow i already got or a GT30 style Garret unit (probablly a .82 rear housing and a .7 front housing with an external wastegate setup) But yeah changing all the exhaust manifolds makes me also check out the GT turbines from HKS as their bolt on.... I guess for the cost tho you could get a full garrett setup for the same price as a HKS turbo....

I had the whole series of dyno videos from somewhere... There is a nice one where it bellows flames... Also a shopt of the oil cooler in a busket of ice and the ice is steaming from the heat.... LOL

Sometimes..... You will have to speak to a cylinder head reconditioner on Tuesday...

So you either have a piece of missing head gasket on number 1... Or the head is warped... Whcih is bad... Id take of the bottom cover and remove the timing chain completlly. Its the easiest way. Mark the positions with liquid paper before removing these items. Also check your front oil seal while your harmonic balancer is off. Just for future reasons.

Oil in the water Blowing crap out the exhaust Rough idle and drive Seems to me like a head gasket... Did you do a compression test? I think you will find you have blow by in 5 & 6 the piece in-between the 2 cyliners is probablly gone. Also exposing the oil wells to the water jacket. Hense the oil in your radiator. Also you will be loosing water slowlly with a blown head gasket. Not to mention excessive heat from having oil in the water. Id do a comp test. Then with this info if 5&6 are low then replace the heat gasket. Worst case is the head is worped but this can be checked once off. Also check for any leakage around the head where it meets the block. This is a good indicator of warping. But i think its unlikelly. Keep us posted on what u do.

I have seen some rb20 with yellow plugs on the knock sensors. Also should mention if the harness is quite old and heated. These plugs are made of bakerlite and are very fragile and dont take to super glue very well. Due to this many have removed one sensor and pluged the hole with a bolt. This would cause an ecu error.... Maby double check there is one missing. Then find where the hole has been plugged and buy another knock sensor and that should fix your problem. Note: All RB Motors i have ever seen have 2 knock sensors

Yep replace the spark plugs just to be sure... Would not hurt anyways. Also check all connection in the spark area. I mean check all leads, terminals & connections. Studdering is missing. Remember 3 things are needed to create ignithtion. 1. Fuel 2. Ignightion 3. Air In your model car i would point directlly at the spark. So check all aspects out in this area.

Saw MMR34 about 2 minutes ago at chermside shopping centre. I was the person in the white corolla behind you who got your spot. Damn 36 hour trading... Gonna be awake all night with the traffic....
