Just washed out the boat, found a un-opened stubby... The motor runs just fine still so al is well...
-
Nah it was not too cold, quite refreshing actually... The boat is mine, no need for insurance claim didnt loose much just tackel and esky and stuff like that... Motor and the hull are the olny two valuable things and we were able to tip it back over, had to go for a swim to resuce the life jackets and paddels, all in the dark... Was a life building experience, got bitten on the toe by a bit of glass on the boat ramp too...
-
Just tow it to the exhaust shop and let them have it... Mine cost $280 that was a new dump from the back of the turbo and a pipe from the wastgate all back to the cat... I think that was an awesome price considering they spent a good 4 hours doing it...

Standing up when we got near the boat ramp... Problem was everyone stood up at the one time

Powersteering Reservoir Relocation Pics?
Col-GTSX replied to Bliksem's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I ripped the bracket out and welded a new bracket on it to relocate it about 3-4cm's to the right of where it is now... -
Sorry yes it was... The first of them when they put in the dual BB cartridge... EDIT: Reguardless I dont see a hassle plumbing it back in at the bend, does not matter where you plum it in its gonna cause a slight disturbance to the flow. Just have the shop plumb it in at the least angle possible, to help the flow... But to be honest the exhaust pressure at 300rwkw is like opening up the flood gates at a dam...
-
I had my ext wastegate plumbed back in at the bend and flowed an easy 330rwkw @ 18.7psi on stock cams... 3" Exhaust system all the way through and a high flow cat... I also had a GT30 0.82 and a high mount manifold... Same setup...

Welcome to SAU... I too have a vast taste for all motor cars having owned an array of 4,6 cylinder cars, my current daily is an VE SS and I have to say i love it... But none the less the skyline used to run rings around it in some ways, im sure you will love the R35 they are the current "Holy Grail" If you dont mind my asking, how did you put a deposit on one???

OK so a bit of background for you in this matter; Dr-Drift = Sam Ok so sam used to cue up a stack of rb20's every few months in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and he would fly to the location. Hire some dyno time at a local workshop and bomb out 5-6 cars per trip and then return home. However sometime back in early 05 (i think) Mercury Motorsport saw the benifit in learning/using Sams system and so they struck an offer and Mercury bought Sams knowledge and his tools. As a part of the deal Sam does not come to Brisbane anymore to tune cars. Now Mercury have the chip and the tuning ability and they have purchased this ability im sure the price is quite a bit higher than Sam used to charge, hence my comments about checking out other aftermarket options. But hey I guess its only a phone call away, give them a buzz and check up how much a dr-drift tune is worth these days and then compair that cost to an aftermarket system... As if the prices are compairable or even close id be going aftermarket as then you have dozens of workshops that can tune your car (more competition means lower prices at the end of the day) and of course the aftermarket ones generally have more features. But im thinking mostlly of the fact that you could get it tuned anywhere you want. Mate the chips are only through Mercury so you would have to drive down to Newarket but thats not far from the coast...

And id be the first to through a $100 donation to the building/maintaince of this facility...

Not my direct neighbour, it was in the street behind my place which I need to drive down to get out of the estate... All happened this moning... Dont how what it was about, just got told to go home and sit tight... Was on my way to work and told I cannot drive down the street, I was turned around and told to go home.... So i ended up watching Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2

Maby its a "BAIT" car...
-
Maby shoot a pm to 'pear' as he was getting one of those installed and tuned... So he may be able to help shed some light on it...

I dont have any info the cops said in there words "Nothing is going on, nothing happening, go back inside" They all gone now, not sure what was going on... They didnt end up taking anyone with them so im not sure what the go was...
-
Mercury Motorsport bought the rights to the Dr-Drift ecu remapping and software here in QLD... The Dr_Drift one was probablly the best, im sure there are others tho like chip torque and so forth... But cost for benifit you would be some what better off looking at an alternate aftermarket ecu solution...

???? I got no idea whats going on, I asked a cop he said nothings happening...

We cant touch it at all... If we touched it, thats stealing... Even if you have the best intentions in mind, you cannot tuch it without the owners concent... We dont know why its there the owner may have just run out of fuel and is coming back for it, or the owner whats it stolen to claim insurance, who knows... The police know its there and thats all we can do apart from sit on the side fo the road and watch it until someone comes to get it...
-
do you know your neighbours??? people spread out on the front lawn, dog squad, cops in riot gear, soldiers from the army, media being held back at the bottom of the street...

Its a small world

Yeah, they do stand out pretty well... And the signage for the burpengary one is everywhere... There are signs that say "Speed camera ahead" about 1km out, then another set of signs that say "speed camera 24hours" and then 500m later there is the speed camera... The markings Ian are exactlly 1m apart with a larger strike every 5m's... They are also spread out differentlly across the 3 lanes so the camera can grab anyone from all three lanes... Their set on that angle for the cameras benifit... As for do they work, well yesterday afternoon on my way to Morayfield a guy/girl in a little yaris went down the 3rd lane at approx 120ish while everyone else was just sitting on 98-100kph as we all read the signs approaching the speed cameras, then as the driver crossed over the lines about 100-200m in front of me his/her number plate flashed light 3 times. So 3 photos are taken with this new speed camera system... As Ian said with the evidence of the lines in the photos these things are going to accurate to within a 1km varience... Now where the confusion is; Police and the transport minister stated these units are "Accurate to within 1km per hour" meaning they are dead accurate. This did not mean you would get a fine for 101 in a 100 zone. After speaking with a good mate whos works in a un-related branch of qld police he could not confirm but he said youwill find they are set to trigger at 107kph. As this is what the mobile speed camera units operate off, their general rule of thumb is 7% tollerance at higher than 50kph and 10% tollerance at anthing lower. He did say this is only a general rule and that this is what they set the mobile units to. So he admits he does not know for sure, but believes that the old rules would still apply in this case... So there you go EDIT: Now in saying that the smartest thing to do it trave along, then as you approach the camera make 100% certain your under the speed limit...

Still there an hour ago also...

Id use the yellow pages and select someone (mechanic) close to home or close to where the car is to make it easy... They all have to abide by the same rules and a saftey cert is around the same price everywhere...

ok so 2 things; 1. For every good story you hear about a tuner/workshop there is a bad one also. 2. I have never heard of a shop that has never had a bad word spoken about them before sometime or another so that really puts them all in the same boat yeah? My good experiences with Matt Spry, Mercury, Allstar, Godzilla are all good in my mind and I got value for money but to another person they might not seem as good. Then there is 3 workshops around that have dudded me in the past and ill never go to again which seem to get a good rating from time to time from other people. Lastelly if you have a bad experience with a shop, tell them... They might be able to fix the situation if they are aware of the problem...
