I have to get a few things on my car fixed and am going to upgrade the stereo at the same time so I was after some advise... the car is a r32 GTR and what I've been quoted on is this: Clarion mp3/usb headunit $310 Clarion 5" splits for the front $110 Clarion 6.5" 3 way rears $100 Clarion 12" Sub $190 Clarion monoblock amp $220 Fitting + cables etc $250 now origonally I was going to have 2 or 3way in the front and 6.5" splits in the rear with a 4 chan amp with 2 chanels bridged to drive the sub... the salesman talked me out of this and sugested the option I listed. so whats the go? or do you have a better suggestion for me? brilliant idea. lock my thread and ask me to ask my Q here for sweet fruck all response

  14. yes I cirtainly will be very carefull before doing anything major, my idea for the car is to enhance it in the spirit of the type of racing the GTR was designed for rathur than rice it up with bolt on mods As I have a workshop available and having worked for hollinger and modena engineering in the past I plan to make quite a few of the parts myself. That said I'm giving myself plenty of time before I actully do anything, and am considering doing a r32 gtst drift car in the interim to learn my way around the car before getting serious with the GTR, and because the spares I have left over can go into the gtst. just need to work out how to justify a hoist to the tax man
  15. well the grp A specs was just as much for a good read as ideas to implement with my build, I cirtainly wont be using dated technology. now Duncan has me pondering what to do about CAMS... hmmm perhaps I'll forget about CAMS and just build it and let scrutineers decide on which class it falls into for events such as targa tassie and the dutton rally which i'm more interested in than season racing. that said grp A is where the gtr came from so it makes sence to use the specs as a reference. cheers

Hey folks, I have done a bit of googling and dug around the site a bit and found some great information, however I'm specifically looking for details of GRP A spec GT-R's (either 32 33 or 34) as a preliminary to rebuilding my car. Dont get me wrong, my car is clean and steetable, my plan was for my GTR to haul my carcass around daily for a few years before I join the 911 club, sure flame away if you wish, the point is I'll keep my skyline and rebuild it to some form of GRP A'ish specifications for tarmac rally and track use. I'd like to keep the car regestered if possible (maybe a long shot) but the car will likely not see road use again, altho I would like it to be possible to bring it back to road leagal if required, so not an all out seam welded stripped out monster I have worked as a fitter and turner in the motorsport field when I was younger and have a workshop at my disposal so some of the build I will be able to do myself. the car may not come off the road for another 18-24 months yet, but it will ease the finantial pain of it all to be well prepared and have a plan on where I end up with the car. obviously it will need to meet CAMS regulations (which class's I have NFI at the moment) So I ask of you any links, files or the like of GTR specifications for GRP A or similar class you may be able to help with. Indeed any words of wisdom or advise reguarding my plans as it isnt the usual GTR mod path. any help or advise greatly appreciated Cheers

    Skyline Prejudice

    I decided to save some money and buy a r32 GTR, personally I wouldnt buy a run of the mill skyline and I dont like r33 or r34 (besides I would never spend that kind of cash on a r34 GTR) so I got a r32 GTR and shelved my plans to go 911 for a few years, atleast this way when I do get one I will have a GTR for the track aswel

I've only had my GT-R for about 4 months now but I have had a few strange happenings already. when I picked up my car from the seller it had no plates so I was driving it to and from legitimate destinations for the purpose of complience, rwc and rego etc. No plates on the car and on atleast 3 occations I had people in shitbox cars trying to rev me up to race them, one driver even went to the extent of stopping then driving full pelt and slamming the brakes on behind me... wtf? my car has an exaust and BOV, they are both reasonably mild and the car is relitivly stock, it does however make a bit of noise under acceleration and I try to keep it to a minimum especially in residential streets, I do however get heaps of dirty looks from elderly people and people gesturing for me to slow dow (I am careful to obey speed limits especially in residential streets) I havnt had to many run ins with the cops, once I was random breath tested and warned not to speed (again residential street and I wasnt speeding) on a few other occations I have been blatently targeted by the police to see if there is somthing they can stich me up over, ie; cop car comes up behind me, overtakes, slows down, over takes me on the other side, then sits next to me before turning off. its all quite annoying.... that said, I have seen a few skyline drivers being idiots, generally riced up r33 gtst's with P plates. all this and I'm 32, cant people just give a guy like me a break? kinda wish I'd bought the 911 like I'd planned. /end rant

I have a Nec p440 laptop that I dont use much anymore, so its for sale specs are here http://www.nec-computers.com/LocalFiles/Pr...D_VersaP440.pdf it is the 14.1" screen model with 20gb hdd, 512mb of ram and DVD drive (not burner) its in pretty good shape with just a bit of wear and tear, comes with a bag, mouse and charger. battery holds charge for about 2-3 hours iirc $600 email me with an offer [email protected] cheers
  21. as a matter of fact i did hit the anchors, but at the time believed that scooting around the corner was a smoother action than sending my siblings thru the windscreen
  22. my my arnt we mr politically correct? FTR I wasnt running an amber, I was committed to making the turn and it went amber as I entered the intersection so I kept a little more speed than usual, came out of the corner with light throttle right on boost sure if I ment to do it I would have been hooning, but as I admit while trying to be brisk about it my judgement was in error and the cars limit exceeded unexpectedly I am new to this car and it surprises me how it can be grip central to tail happy depending on how it is driven. so therefore I can cirtainly understand a less expirienced driver can get themselfs in all sorts of trouble through being a tool or just plain lack of expierience.
  23. what is hard to believe about that? I took a corner somewhat briskly due to an amber light, only light on the throttle and the back stepped out, it was dry aswel btw
