  1. i've never thought about it as it was never bought to go on the road, i'm now looking at getting it rego'd and i'm wanting to know if theres certain importing paperwork required to get a car rego'd of this age? i have no idea how long the car has been in the country? the R30 was produced in australia just not the HR30.. i can't find info on the VIN # through Qld transport as its pre 1989. if someone knows what exactly is required in this situation that would be a great help. Cheers, Matt....
  2. quick question where is the best place to re-fill the box?? great write up by the way...
  3. do the DR's have the same kind of rear bucket seats as the HRs' ??? i added an aus spec mr30 front seat to mine which seemed to give a lower driving positon than the factory jap seats..
  4. that just up the road from me, looks like its never been complied perhaps as i've never seen it on the road....
  5. i've driven both the HR31 and HR30 with silver top rb20dets and found the HR30 to be the better car, not as feature packed as the DR or HR31 which is a plus for a performance based option, the FJ20det makes for a very different drive what with different power delivery.. in stock form the DR30 is the winner, more power in a lighter car. both interiors are of the same era, HR31 has better seats... iron mask DR30 is the one to buy......
  6. i'd go the SR, if you want it for drifting then thats the go and if the balance of the car is better with the SR then thats another plus. from what i know drifting seems to be more revs and car balance more than low down torque, mate up a desent turbo and you'll be fine...
  7. I was dropping the GF off at work this morning and came across a horrid sight, one written off DR30 4door, some of you may have seen it in HPI before, its a grey/silver over black 4door with crome rims, iron mask front... looked to me like a one car accident, maybe lost it and rolled, car is oval shaped now... Hope there were no injuries though.... i'll look tonight for the mag i saw it in and post a pic of it in its better days....
  8. HR31's are great, parts are out there if you look, upgrade parts are not as easy to find or are quite $$$, r32 are cheap in this department....
  9. a mate was telling me about a place he came across that offered rb30 single cam turbo engines that would rev to 10,000 all day every day, he also mentioned for just the engine your looking at $19,000 no turbo, so anything is possible if you have stupid money
  10. i think the VL turbo blocks have the oil squirters in them?
  11. theres something about putting a $10,000 engine into a $1000 car that has never appealled to me ???
  12. not under that name
  13. Heres my HR with my old Watanabes on, they were 15x 6.5 + 19 at the rear and 15x 6 +15 at the front this is the info off the rims that came with the car
  14. i had my P1 buddy clubs on for a while and they are 17x 8" +22 offset at the rear and they fit perfectly with the 235 tyres...
  15. 1st post edited with the details, maybe edit your post prince to just the details you want added...
  16. i have'nt read about any street legal 10 sec r31's let alone running rb30et, there are a few VL's running in the 10's that are street cars.. most r31 guys just bolt the turbo gear to thier N/A blocks rather than whole VLT engine swaps 99% of us are poor and can't afford to put the $$$ into just the engine let alone what else is needed for 10 sec slips...
  17. Ok, plains are as follows..... rb25det with matching manual conversion, r33 or r34 depending on halfcut costs.... DR30 rear end rotor to rotor.... New LSD.... 5stud conversion.... New rims......HUSH HUSH on these...... new coilovers... brake upgrade.... custom FMIC set up.... full 3" stainless exhaust.... new fuel system..... a bunch of bolt ons and plugs ins...... interior dress up/ re-trim... should be a real head turner as well.... i'm hoping a 6 month turn around from what it is now to something special......
  18. i was told the best thing to do is match the piping to the outlet of the turbo and the throttle body, i have reducers on the inlet and out let of the intercooler.... 2 1/2" mostly for the rb engines..
  19. this is how a mate of mines r31 is (600x 300x 75 core) and this is how i will be re-doing mine very soon.. short an simple....
  20. its the piping that stands out more to me, if anything i'd just paint that black..... M2c..... nice core size though not over kill like mine..
  21. i've read the write up on this one in the r31 forum, very well sorted conversion... great to see it running. hows it sound
  22. the more torque is from it being a 2.5L engine as compaired to the 2L rb20det. its a CC thing....
  23. this is my next idea too, i have an r33 rb25det in my r31 daily and want to go to the NEO in the HR30, good to know it fits, do you have more pics??
  24. heres mine...
  25. all r30 seat rails are the same pattern, i put the drivers seat from my hatch into the HR30 cause i seemed to sit lower in in the aus seats??
