  1. i got my hands on a mines ecu for the rb20det as well and have been told that they are pretty much custom tuned for what the customer has mods wize and how he/she wants the car to perform. towards tuning its a case of tuning the car around the ecu rather than the ecu around the car. general info i've got is the mines ecus' run rich based on japanese octane fuel. if anyone knows other wise please add as SUS55 and myself would like to know.
  2. i have to say the rb25de is a great $$ option as well, being your brother is machanic he would know the right people in town to get the work done, your looking at a little fabracition, electrical and exhaust work other than that a little time to get it all done..all up i'd say $2500 would be about the budget.
  3. sounds like your in the same boat as me, i'm wanting to get the insides sharpened up but don't want to run the risk of them being damaged in that process, my latest through is xenon HID conversion kit or something along those lines, i'm going to speck to a sparkie in the next few days... good luck.

  5. from what i 've been told you can bolt on the turbo gear to the L24e and run 6-8 psi no problems, then through in 98 RON fuel and the wolf with a good fmic and tuning you could get away with a few extra psi..
  6. pics of hubs and car would be a big help??? sounds to me like you may have got your hands on either a very rear car or an ex race car!
  7. with mine the line had been crushed at some point and would not release the calipar, check the lines for damage just in case as it was $55 for a new line made now they work fine??? hope it helps

  10. try marine cable places as i'd say there may be a few over there? get them made new.
  11. i retired my mr30 hatch at 401890km and it was a brilliant drive still surprized a few vp drivers, with good servicing the engine was built for 500,000km, its the other things that seemed to go though, the hatch has a problem with the rear window rusting at the back and it weights a sh&t load, the front guards rust around the doors as well... with a bit if time and little money these have the potental to live for a long time.....

  14. there was a place here on the coast selling a dr half cut for 2200 if it going to be that much may as well get some spears out of it or make some money back!! panels in sliver or white?? brakes headlights, filler panel and alot of other goodies.

  19. as the title says my peddle has gone soft, i was testing the car on a private road and after two runs pulling the car up from around 180km/h the peddle went soft took around 50-70 extra meters to stop, twice as long as the frist 2 runs to pull up... the car is a hr30 skyline, so its a bit older, still running the old single pot callipars (for now) but i'm using brand new DBA slotted rotors and B/N bendix compX pads and i have the r32 brakebooster and master cylinder installed aswell, part of the engine install... i first throught air in one of the lines but they were bleed twice when the rotors were fitted and the peddle has stayed soft?? any ideas as to the problem?? Cheers matt.....
  20. budget is going to be 43 if the r30 sells' no more, and i'd like to be able to use some of that for a few mods,7-8 for ecu, turbo/s and fmic
  21. never been a big fan of the 33, there just so many here on the coast, not to many gtrs' though...
