hey all. with the midnight cruise coming up i need to get myself a cb. i need a cheapish functional one. dont wanna ebay cos id rather see it b4 i buy. what do y'all reccomend and where can i get one from. btw i did search, but there isnt much recent. there was a GB a coupla years back. who wants do run another one?

update on my progress guys: i went to jaycar today and had a chat to one of the attendants there. told him what i was doing and which leds i was gonna need. he said the 30,000 mcd ones would be the best. call me gullible but i agreed. told him i needed 16 (two b/n each letter). didn't notice till i got home and counted them that he gave me 32, and only charged for 10. anyhoo his advice was to run them in parallel (see pic). he also threw in a big chunky looking resistor. he rekons i only need one and this can go anywhere in the wiring (+ive side). i wanna include it in the garnish but im worried its gonna get hot. is this a problem? its quite large, about 50x10x10mm. i dont want it melting anything

iirc yes they can. i think the reason is that it can block vision. any guages or add ons need to be below the highest level of the factory dash. so DIN guages are cool but kinda crap cos you havta take you eyes off the road. i rekon the best compromise looks like the mearcat pods. looks as stock as possible

answer is no. but i just realised i have another two months in which i can drive my car without risking loss of my licence :PBJ: :PBJ: :PBJ: interesting to note that 3 years ago the gtst wasnt a 'restricted' vehicle. clicky im pretty sure that a more recent version of this document existed cos i remember reading a list of vehicles over the limit and it had a gtst on it. i remember being pretty peeved cos it listed the car as being about 126.5 or thereabouts. only a fraction to a couple of kw over

according to here, the r33 gtst type m, built from jan '95 to jan '96 puts out 180kw(im guessing at the flywheel) and weighs in at 1390(A/T) or 1370(M/T). putting it in the caculator gives 129kw/ton(A/T) and 131kw/ton(M/T) both are over the 125kw/ton limit. therefore both are illegal for ALL p platers to drive. hmmm. im a bit slow today it seems. meh

you're right it isnt that complicated but that is an awesome write up. your trick with the hot water on the hoses is one i wish i knew before. woulda save me a lot of frustration and skinned knuckles. i tried wd40 lol. cleaned it off at the end but now im forever worrying that i over lubed them and they are gonna pop of and spray fuel all over my engine.

BOV's arent really an upgrade iirc. not unless you are making biggish power. your stocko will do. do your engine breathing mods. biggest gains/dollar i think. i mean get a full exhaust, highflow cat, air intake, cai. then other shit which i dont know much bout as yet. going thru the same process as u atm.

fuel lilght means you have 7L left. good for about 40 k's of careful driving. the light trigger level also depends on where the fuel is in the tank (eg on accel and decell, right or left turns uphill or downhill etc). the ;ight comes on earlier in the second of any of those options above. in my car atleast. also i belive that the capacity of the tank is 65 but some of that is expansion room for hot days when the fuel has a larger volume. hence why you cant fill the whole thing
