With the question about rev limiter the R34 Auto's when in triptronic mode it will shift if it thinks it needs to, but only at the last minute.... EG: I get to about 80km before it forces into 2nd gear but i can always shove it back into 1st, but the gearbox is trying to tell me it wants a higher gear. Same when down shifting if it wants a lower gear it will do it automatically. There is very little lag in changing of the gears if any, I mainly use the gear knob in tiptronic mode but the steering wheel controls are just as good (once you turn them on) I do alot of h'wy driving and peek hour driving in Sydney and Central Coast so the auto was way more pratical for myself but on the h'way a manual would be so much better as the R34 auto's only have 4 speed gearbox and I dont think they have overdrive unless it is automatic as there is no button to turn it on and off. Just incase different years are different I have a 98 R34 GT-T Sedan. Drew.

You have to get the car to a workshop with the computer to plug into the car to read the error code as far as I am aware unless there is an aftermarket tool to do this? Probably easier and quicker cause of time of day that you call the NRMA or local motoring group in your state and get them to come out and check it out. Drew.

You know what is weird, my car had the same issue so they replaced the battery and then it did it again but since replacing the battery no issue... and when it was playing up they could not get the battery to loose charge, yet when I am driving along the freeway at 110km/h it managed to do it?? The stock R34 GT-T's get 0-100 in 6.6 secs I believe. Not sure about the V35's. Drew.

My car servicing people told me that every 10,000kms is ok for my car and its a stock r34 gt-t sedan. So far it has done 7000kms so far and no issues so i think it is ok. But I have read alot of other people mentioning 5000kms on the dot but then again I spose its up to the owner as there appears to be nothing written in stone on this. Drew.

Was told by several people that remote start is illegal in NSW not sure about other parts, but I know heaps of guys with it. I have an auto and was looking at getting an alarm with that sort of feature but then was told not really worth the expense and if caught get defected. But on the original topic is sucks that you can dobbed in even if you aren't caught by the cops. I mean fair play if you are doing something stupid and several people report you but only being reported by one person means that you can be treated as if you are a criminal?? And yet we don't have entrapment laws in this country. Drew.

When this happened in my car it was the result of the battery loosing charge, so they took a battery out of another car (working) put it in and it works fine now. But they could not get the car to fault when they had it apart from the altimeter being a little shaky. Drew.
