  1. 3 years is a decent time for a battery. sounds like you need a new one.
  2. not just yanks imo, but the rest of the world outside of japland....
  3. there is a vt commo going round my joint with dual cannons... so ultimately gay
  4. nascar did and still use carburettors supertaxis run injection...
  5. its people like who who give other people the shits. he said the bloke come out of nowhere. he also said they cut him off AFTER he had been a dickhead... if they were totally in the wrong, the wouldnt have come on and bragged about it, and the cops wouldnt have just let them go... obviously the old guy was a nutcase...
  6. they arent mechanics or tyre fitters remember... they are sandblasters and powder coaters.. they prob wont have a hoist, they wont have a tyre fitting machine to remove the tyres off the rims.... you will have to get that done, and then just drop the rims themselves off it wont be a one day turn around thing either....
  7. ease up, faaark this bloke has had an expeience with some prick trying to cause an accident, and all you lot can do is rip into the poor fella... sheeesh. what most normal people do, when they are speeding, and come up behind two cars in lanes next to each other, is flash headlights, and then one car will move out of the way. by the sounds of it, this bloke come out of nowhere, and just pushed up the inside, trying to make one of the cars swerve off the road...
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Initial-d-mock-up-s...1QQcmdZViewItem "Initial d mock up sprinter trueno hyundi excel x2" hi i have mocked up a hyundi excell to look like a toyota sprinter out of the movie initial d. the car offers mag rims, a cannon exhaust, over $1500 of sound system, pionerr and clarion, 2 15in subs, clarion splits and rears, pioneer head deck, 2 clarion amps. spot lights. has pod filter and been serviced every 10,000km's, lowered suspension and aftermarket shifter, manual gearbox. its an awesome car it used next to no fuel, blows no smoke, lots of power and sounds great, great run around or everyday driver. only selling due to loosing my licence in march. need to pay fines
  9. and its that rule in the ADRs that is gay, because when they clock someone doing 3km over, and send them a fine, the persons speedo was probably reading less
  10. yes, you spelt it wrong. its flutta, not flutter. also, what would you rather, no sound, and long turbo life, or something that sounds like gay sex, and rooting your turbo?
  11. a turbo/ supercharged car will always chew more fuel than a similar N/A motor. why? because you are forcing more air into the motor, so that you can put more fuel into it, and thus, make more power. but what djr81 is trying to say is that a supercharger is run off the crankshaft. it takes power to run a supercharger. heres an example. lets say my car has 200hp. if i just put a supercharger on it, but dont connect it, the car will make say 180hp. because you need to drive it. if i did the same with a turbo, then the power wouldnt change, because its just the exhaust thats running it
  12. like a few people have said, speedos in cars generally read about 5km/h over what you are doing. so if the speedo says 100 youre doing 95. so if you go through a speed camera on, or even slightly above the limit, you should be right. cops with radar/lidar ive heard need to give a 10% leeway. add into account that your speedo is high as well.. many times ive been in a 100 zone, with the speedo reading 110 to 115, and a cop has been there, and i havnt been done.
  13. old news... theres a thread in teh vic section i think it is, about this story...
  14. ive also seen some cop cars running motec system exhausts they have so much torque, the chassis twists coming off the line... thats not torque, thats a shit build...
  15. CAI means cold air induction. most srock airboxes will have some sort of cai, by drawing air from in the bumper/guard area. as soon as you replace this with a pod, all the air is being taken from inside the engine bay. there are a few ways to combat the problem. one is extend the piping down into the bumper, or guard area, and have the pod down there. another is to build a box around the pod, with piping extending down into the colder area. another thing ive also sen people do is modify the stock airbox, by gutting it, and mounting a pod filter inside, and then running an intake pipe from teh airbox down the front further. this way it looks nice and stock..
  16. jeezuz... thats not bad... i got a quote to send a motor from sydney to newcastle of about 550.... i would expect tuncurry to tas to be crazy... looks like i need to find another courier lol
  17. ^^ exactly. dont worry about pods. ive read somewhere that the stock airbox can run up to 250kw? maybe 300? dont quote me though. just get a nice panel filter, it will also keep you out of trouble with Mr Plod that, an exhaust, rip out the boost restrisctor, and then get used to it for a bit. when you need more power, then look at new turbos/ecu/intercooler etc etc
  18. i only use the best to lubricate my beast.... ok, thats enough offtopic dirty talk back to the gt500 car, its pretty hot itself....
  19. PS is actually a german word. Pferdestärke = horse strength 1 PS is 0.73ish kilowatts, and 0.986ish horespower read all about power ratings here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horsepower
  20. here is the ombudsman report about the faulty speedos in WRXs http://www.ombo.nsw.gov.au/publication/PDF...2002.pdf?id=120 a few excerpts: "Recent media reports have referred to a particular police taskforce, ‘Operation Sibu’, that investigated infringement notices issued by police driving Subaru vehicles. The media reports have also referred to a subsequent related matter involving 20 police vehicles identifi ed as having faulty speedometers. It is important that any discussion of these matters be based on accurate information." "In late 1999, NSW Police purchased three Subaru WRX vehicles following a three month trial of the vehicles. An external company initially certifi ed the speedometers in all three vehicles as accurate, meaning they could be used for speed enforcement duties. Shortly after the vehicles became operational, signifi cant errors in the accuracy of their speedometers were identifi ed. This meant that highway patrol offi cers could not be confi dent of the accuracy of speed infringement notices issued while driving these vehicles. Therefore, in recognition of this problem, directions were issued by commanders and supervisors to remove these three vehicles from speed enforcement. Despite these directions, some offi cers continued to use the vehicles to police speed limits and a number of infringement notices were issued. When senior offi cers realised that the vehicles were still being used to issue infringement notices, inquiries were undertaken to identify affected motorists. This resulted in the refund of 530 fines."
