  1. Either that or if Ryan isn't in a hurry use mine when it comes up shortly and then you can leave it in...
  2. Now the problem is people putting unleaded in diesels... Lol
  3. Under the laws of physics energy can not be created or destroyed, it may only change state. Therefore to lose 250kws you need it to become another form of energy other then kinetic... That normally means sound or heat... While 1000kw cars may be noisy, they are not producing 250kw of noise... Nor are they boiling diff and gearbox oil or melting metal parts... Hence they can't be making 250rwkw in heat either... They're not storing so no potential energy and I don't see them getting brighter, therefore they're not pitting it out in light energy... Since there is no other energy forms available... They must be putting most of that power through in kinetic energy... Most losses are caused from drag, primarily from bearings, which have a set coefficient of friction, meaning that it's primarily a constant loss, not a percentage loss. Autos and manuals do "lose" different amounts of power purely from the design of the trans and torque converters/clutch. The main part of this is the torque converter, as it is designed to slip a kittle and use a liquid to transmit power, this means you end up losing power in the form of heat in this scenario, but only a bit.
  4. I'm thinking I want one like that too for mine... Purely to avoid having to seal the boot off. No liquids back there means no need to seal...
  5. You mustn't venture far from Sydney then. Edit: far from the few schools in Sydney that have them that is. I don't come through Syd as much as people that live there, but I spot heaps of school zones without the flashing lights.
  6. Guys, you also have to remember, we normally have 48 people entered on a day. If we run 15 minute groups, we have and once an hour, you've got only 4 groups, meaning 12 cars in a group, this is a very heavy track for a normal club day. When we run a full track day we prefer to run 6 groups, at 10 minutes a piece, so there are only 8 cars per group. To those wanting longer sessions, maybe try lining up on time. It's amazing the number of people who don't turn up until halfway through a session! And remember, with this exact track day, people were concerned with oil and water temps as it was "December and in goulburn". So by shortening the sessions we help avoid over heating.
  7. That still leaves wires that add a small amount of weight... The wiring is gone now too... LOL... Custom relay and cabling time...
  8. Yeah the ECU is going to be setup to switch the fuel pump. Pretty much like normal, once the ECU loses an RPM signal it'll kill the pump. When first turning it on, make it prime for 3 seconds.
  9. Yeah, that's what it's designed to do. Mainly to stop cars in traffic from over heating the fuel. Car is track only, so it's going to spend most of it's time >3000RPM anyway, so fuel pump will always be cranked up.
  10. Cheers Ryan. Going to go all custom wiring. Fuel pump was already earthed out to run permanent 12V once the ECU told the pump to turn on. Will put a decent new relay on it, and all new wiring. From what I understand those things are only useful when running the funky ECU speed controlled stuff.
  11. I want... ...The big stickers...
  12. The exhaust stuff is sitting in my lounge room... Along side bags and boxes of other odds and ends to make this thing go... I just need to go purchase a dremel and the exhaust stuff will go in... And random brackets will come out... What my work doesn't currently realise, is how much shit is about to be put in their massive bin next time it is emptied...
  13. Might just have to go speak to the new owner of Stu's R32... I had been told LS2... Last person who mentioned it to me (Who worked on the car) mentioned 7.4Litres... And that thing was bullshit quick when it was only 5.7L!!!
  14. So... Brad's going to kill me... But I was sitting in the car the other day... And well.... All this shit randomly fell out... Along with all of that, this was on the drivers side, just under the back window... I believe it is the high speed fuel pump relay? Can someone confirm? Also, this box sits bolted to the inside of the rear guard beside the aerial unit... Is it apart of the aerial stuff or for some other lighting? Also, HICAS ECU is GONE! HICAS Wiring to under the car is GONE! Now to install HICAS Lock Bar... Hmm... Then I also need to finish removing the rest of the body wiring loom... Things such as rear wiper and wireing... Gone. Aerial, Gone, Speakers, Gone, random aerial cables, gone, sun roof cables, gone. (Need to remove the sunroof once in a garage and fit an aluminium sheet + brace in the roof.) Everything under the dash is GONE except for wiring... And it will be ripped up soon for my custom wiring loom... My step dad has "volunteered" to help me wire that up and make some custom fuse/relay boxes which will be mounted on the rear floor I think... Or in the dash board on the passenger side... Made a decision to rewire alot of the car, I want cables in different locations, so I can move switches etc, as well as pull as much dead weight as possible... I need to chase Neil's cars weight... I am going to be disadvantaged though, as I am a heavier driver... But I will be rewarded in weight by not yet having a cage... Yet... Also need to get some aluminium and make some door cards, as well as the "dash board". Got lots of sound deadening to remove... Need to do some shit to this car myself (Happening slowly, but hard when I don't have a garage) and then I'll be sending it back to Brad...
  15. And what's your plan with it? Turn it into a track car I'm guessing?
  16. How much are you guys wanting to spend on a rolling shell?
  17. Speak to an engineer. Safest way to find out info. You'll get 50 different answers from 10 people on a forum...
  18. Depends on how much you want to pay.
  19. No we dont. It's a minority of schools that have them. I'll take shells idea
  20. Time to buy a set of clubs, and a buggie and turn the courses into your own track...
  21. I'm glad you have flashing lights. Most of Wollongong doesn't. But then again, these school zones are just destroying the whole idea of natural selection (that's a joke you uptight people!!!)
  22. Mark, I agree with you, I have zero issues with sticking to school zones, but due to the fact I rarely go through them, I don't go looking up info on what day it starts and stops nor do I have it memorized. As you'd know, it's illegal for me to use my phone to google school semesters while driving... What I'd like is te RTA to kindly put flashing lights on all school zones so everyone is alerted when they do get to them if it is active or not. I think you'll also find this threa was made like most people make as a "hey guys, it's double demerits this weekend, be extra vigilant" It's just nice to know, but this info is even better to know IMO.
  23. Mark, there may be some that are always working etc, we've got ones around Wollongong that run all day etc. But the last time I read about school zones, was that they stopped when school semester ended. As far as I was aware the semester was over. The RTA should do more to let people know when it is a school semester or not. Put the f**king flashing lights on all school zones and it will solve this issue.
  24. I'd actually like to say thanks. I don't have kids, an all I knew was from work mates that their kids were on holidays this week, meaning I expected no school zones. I think laying off Maxima about this thread would be a good idea. I even think there'd be a lot of parents whom don't know school zones are still in affect. Next time, jump on him for warning you of double demerits...
  25. Hey mate, Can't send you a PM. Trying to find out if you have RB25DET + Manual Gearbox available?
