have you tried running a diode on the power line as it goes into the O2 and on the earth cable and do the same on the PMD gear? It would probably be useful to put a CRO across the power signals and see what the power signal actually looks like. But a small setup with a few diodes and possibly a cap or two to clean it up should work well.

I dunno about you guys, but most of the MX5s I seem to pass on the freeway have aftermarket roll cages and race seats in them... As to fuel tanks, don't be concerned at all, unless you switch to running E85.

Most are wrecked from people using normal floor jacks instead of the appropriate scissor jacks.

I was going to make the suggestion, if you want to buy an NA, buy an R34 one. Don't waste your time in the 32/33 camp. The 34 in the cabin is a much better car. In saying that, I'd also look at what you're going to want to do in the near future. Personally, I love the fun of getting away with a bunch of mates, throwing a bunch of gear in the back of a car and heading for some fun out bush, where know most P plates that are into cars, you'll have some fun in paddocks etc and just flogging the car around. For example, heading up to nelsons bay etc, you can actually legally drive on the beach... I wouldn't try that in the Skyline...

Yes, it is a slightly longer track, meaning to keep the same space as 48 vehicles at wakie, you only want 80 cars at EC. But as noted, the cost to hire is extravagent... And knowing the cost of hiring, from my quick sums, the WRX club will basically be losing money with 100 entrants... Unless someone is sponsoring them... Quite a cheap day for EC...

Mark, due to going back to our normal setup of driver training being the key, most likely not. That and a $200 lap timer like Erics will be a solid investment for you. Not only will you have laptimes, but you can visually see where you were going on the track and find out where you should be each lap to find your quickest times. That also turns every cheap normal track day into a timed session for you...
