R&R aka Airflow cut.. the stock ecu's have a failsafe where if it sees over a certain voltage from the airflow meter it throws in a bunch of extra fuel and retards the timing.

Hicas Defected. Lock Bar Etc
bubba replied to PREISS's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
What about re-fitting a standard rear steering rack and getting like the Tomei lock kit or something similar. That way HICAS is still locked but it will appear stock.. -
Yours sounds like a bastard similar to mine. Mine worked out quite nicely though. 25 box into 32gtst (was already manual), 3.9:1 diff gears, 280kph Nismo speedo, used the Navara 17T sender with no modifications, speedo now reads ~10kmh high. Not a bad thing so I've left it how it is. What sender did you use when you put the manual box in? you may have to do some searching and come up with a cog combo that suits your ratios.

Circlip was still there, there was no noise associated with it immediately before or after it came out. I'm putting it down to the occaisional axle tramp I get (mainly when trying to take off in the wet without heaps of wheelspin) slowly working it out. At least nothing was broken.. thought I'd snapped an axle for a little while there

From what I've seen the R33 ecu's tend to hit R&R sooner than the R32's. e.g. When we built my 30 I had it running on the stock ecu, any more than 10% throttle or 3000rpm and it was into R&R. It was also maxing the airflow meter at about 6000rpm (afm maxes, ecu can't read more air so stops throwing in more fuel). Was running 10psi through RB25 turbo. I had a remap chip from a groupbuy on here that got me round for a couple of months (had no afm cut) while I collected injectors, afm and saved for the tune. We kind of under estimated the engine as we didn't expect it to max things quite so quickly..

No harm Antoni, at least you now have a nice catback system
-
So you actually did what I suggested? OMGZ0RZ And no need to call me a "sikunt" you fkn tool. I tried to give advice and discourage you from doing something stupid. You got all defensive, abused me back then went and did what I suggested.. fair dinkum you "sikunt".

Hicas Defected. Lock Bar Etc

Ouch, that sucks. My lockbar passed the pits fine here in WA. -
So I leave work yesterday and a few streets away I notice something strange.. car starts pulling to the left when I back off and pulling to the right when I accelerate. I was like hmm, that's dodgy. Come to a set of lights and when I go to take off it just sits there spinning the passenger side wheel Limped it to my mates workshop and threw it up on the hoist to discover the drivers side halfshaft has popped out of the diff.. Has anyone had this happen before? it was probably a good inch or so out of the diff

Nice work Trent. Oh and I call BS on the 218rwkw 34 with stock turbo.
-
Really know fk all about 33 stuff, sorry dude. Also unless you have someone near you that can remap 33 ecu's, I wouldn't be using one. The reason I kept mine was because I could get it remapped which was needed by the way. The 30 maxxed out the standard airflow meter pretty quickly and I needed a remap to run the z32 afm, figured while I was there I might aswell chuck some bigger injectors in too (don't know how close the stockers were to maxxing out).

Garrett FTW. Or the cheap solution is RB25 turbo.

Bad luck hoony kx2fity: what trader was that? I made an equiry about a bodykit over a fortnight ago and no reply. PM me if you want

I have an 044 mounted intank with a new sock but it's mounted much lower than the original, had a track day and a couple of skidpan days with lots of sideways, no dramas whatsoever. It will even run down way past the E line on the gauge and still not splutter under full load.
-
RB20's aren't that bad. Mine took an absolute hiding and it was a lot of fun. But, now that I have a 3L there is no turning back! muahahaha

Big tips on stock exhausts is also a ricer trait. Some spelling and punctuation doesn't hurt either.

Tailshaft Mod For Rb25 Box Into R32?
bubba replied to mr_rbman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Search for all the RB25 into R32 threads and read them, you'll need to modify your tailshaft and speedo drive along with the gearbox mounts. -
Oh if all you have to do is relocate gearbox mounts then that's no dramas, had to do that to fit the 25 box in my 32.. I thought you were talking like you had to chop rails n stuff!

Boost controller could be making it jerky to drive, mine was jerky coming on boost till I had another fiddle with the ebc. It would come on hard then 1000rpm later it would kind of hesitate for half a second then pull hard again. I dropped down the pressure it holds the gate shut till by 0.2 and it made a huge difference, really smooth and still pulls just as hard.

The power delivery of my motor is very linear because there is no lag so there's not really a quick snapping force (unless you dial in 4000rpm and drop the clutch.. then it's a quick snap into massive wheelspin.. hell even 2500rpm clutch drops result in massive wheelspin!). To be honest mate, if you can't fit a 25 box in there I wouldn't be putting a 3L in.. those RB20 boxes really don't handle all the extra torque. Mine lasted less than 2 months of 3L goodness
-
You don't lose a percentage, a drivetrain will sap a certain amount of power but that doesn't increase with power. 158rwkw does seem rather low. I made 183rwkw with a similar turbo on the same dyno. If a tuner is giving you a dyno sheet reading flywheel horsepower yet it's a chassis dyno, it's just a guess. Ask for one at the wheels.

Sard 550 Cc Injectors On A Standard Ecu?/help
bubba replied to Hunting Lions's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If it's doing it when it's hot then it could be coils or maybe igniter or coil harness. Mine was doing it due the internals of the plugs on the coil harness disintegrating. I butchered a mates harness and replaced two of the plugs and haven't changed my sparkplugs in months due to not wanting to bust any more harness plugs. Ordered a new coil harness from rhdjapan last week, it's in Australia and left Melbourne last night.. w00t! I'll finally be able to change my plugs and put my splitfires back in! -
From what I heard there is two types but both are 80mm butterflies, one just has a bigger mouth (I think it's off the earlier range). Don't know this 100% for certain but it's a start
-
I have an RB25 turbo on my 25DE/30 (not a standard bottom end though). It makes 12psi by 2200rpm, 183rwkw @4600rpm but chokes the engine up at about 5800rpm so badly that by the time it gets to the 6800rpm limiter it's only making 67rwkw! It is certainly a lot of fun to drive and there isn't really such a thing as off boost. I do have a real turbo that is going on soon which should be even more fun

Sh!t I'm gonna be late, it's OK though - start without me
