  1. I bedded my diff in (figure8's in the carpark next to the workshop - yes, people were looking at me funny ) and I have have clunks/chattering. Still running the Nismo oil that came with it, am going to change the oil on Sunday when the 25 box goes in.
  2. This one has a better collector setup than most ebay jobs.
  3. I run 550cc Densos, oval plugs (was supplied with plugs, had tuner swap them when they installed the injectors), did have to throw in a couple of copper washers to get them seating properly. Apparently a common issue with old Denso injectors (tuner had come across it before).

  9. They'll occaisionally pull in behind me but if I just putt along like a grandma they usually piss off pretty quickly. This morning I got lit up less than 30 secs after pulling out of my driveway.. was like 5am and I was heading to a paintball tournament, unmarked car was coming down my street slowly with the highbeams on (i thought it was either cops or a taxi), I back out of my driveway and head down the street directly opposite quite slowly as car was still a bit cold. Cops belted round the corner and sat on my ass, I was like "ahhh here we go" then the lights come on, I pull over, they hover near the back of the car checking my rego, when they realised I lived less than 100m away they pulled up next to me and go "sorry mate, there's just some shit going down in the suburb this morning" I was like "yeah no worries guys cheers" and drove off. It actually gave me a good feeling about the cops for a change

  12. My limiter is set to 6800rpm but I never hit it due to the small assed turbo on there (rb25 turbo) it falls over about 5800rpm and drops down to 90hp by the limiter. I just make a point of shifting up ~5500rpm.

  14. From what I understand 7k is fine, significantly more than that is likely when you would see failure.. this 26/28 is being built to rev to 10k so no scrimping on the oil pump there

  16. The tradeoff between a 25 and a 30 (unless you're going to spend BIG dollars on the 30) is revs for torque. Similar mods (internal and external) both engines would likely make around the same power, the 30 would make it a lot sooner but unless you build it to rev to 8k the 25 will be able to make similar power due to the higher revs (that's my theory anyway..). I went for the 30 because I was offered a forged bottom end for a good price, going from the 20 to the 30 was amazing.. the abundance of torque in practically any gear is arousing.. the 20 would never pull up a hill at 2000rpm in 5th! I love it!
  17. I've heard it's something to do with high revs.. myself and my mechanic both run one on our 30s but on his 26/28 drag motor he is going to run a Jun pump because it will be seeing much higher revs.
  18. Conversion took a weekend from start to finish, Saturday lunchtime with a concert Saturday night, back into it Sunday and drove it home about 3am Monday morning.. Mine is registered with the RB30, don't know how easy it is in other states.

  23. Apparently I get flames when it's more of a dull "whop" rather than the big "bangs", hence my theory is thus: A BANG is the unburnt fuel igniting at the front of the exhaust and the flame/whop is the unburnt fuel making its' way to the muffler before it ignites. </end-theory>
  24. front right indicator smashed (nooooooooooooooo! my clear lenses!) and the point of the guard above it is punched in a fair bit, looks like new indicators and a new guard and she'll be right not as bad as it could have been! and brynj, that also sucks! I'm just lucky it wasn't some random in a carpark that did it..
