mine does the same thing, my door switch is rooted, i just havent got around to getting a new one. so my light is switched to the 'off' position for now. lol

the other thing is i just change the oil on friday before going to the track.

the engine has done 118,000 ks. i use castrol 10w 30 i usually change the oil between 5 - 10,000 ks i think im just going to have to find the money to get it sorted.

its definatly more a ticking sound from around the head/cam area, like a tapet sort of noise. yes it does do it by free reving it, but it disapears on engine deceleration. i hope that helps you a bit. ive heard big end noises before, but this sound is higher pitched than the kncking sound you get from that.

I was up at Winton raceway yesterday for a track day. the day went well and it was great fun. However... since leaving the track ive notice a horrible "ticking" noise coming from the engine, but its only under load. when you are just coasting the noise stops. im hoping that i dont need to fork out for a rebuild as i really dont have the funds at the moment. if anyone can shed some light on what the noise could be it would be much appreciated. thanks guys.

mine used to do the same thing, it was the coil packs. the best way to tell is you have the car idling, and you disconect them one at a time until when you disconect one of them there is no change to the idle. sounds confusing but it worked for me. does yours have a rough idle?

i know everyone else is saying it, well im gonna say it too! if i aint broke, dont fix it. stock is best.

yeah, mines about 3 grand. theres alot of variants to take into account as well, wheel size, speedo accuracy etc...
