  1. I like the idea of the AFM on the cold side of the intercooler. Better throttle response (due to less air volume between the TB & AFM) and the fact that atmo BOVs don't affect it (if you place the BOV before the AFM) are reasons why I'd like to give it a go...
  2. The Lucas pads on my car dust to all buggery. They need a clean after 100km! But for the price they are pretty good I have to admit.
  3. Well if the Dyno Day is postponed, I'm selfish and I'll say it'd suit me better. Nothing to do with the footy though.
  4. Unfortunately I cannot make this because I won't be in town that weekend. Have fun and drink lots of beer for me!
  5. Whatever that chasing car was, it got owned yours truely!
  6. Is it true the Super Streets are not monotube?
  7. Yeah good point about the battery. Thats why I have the car hooked up to a battery charger whilst doing the tests. I wait 5 mins between each cyl so the battery gets topped up. Btw also some readings may be artificially high if there is a lot of carbon deposits (raising the comp ratio).
  8. If you must, the GReddy M-Spec intercooler kits are around $700 so that would give you some piece of mind. At least you know the piping will fit up sweet.
  9. AFAIK Mustang Dyno's read pretty damn low?
  10. Of course the bore x stroke is not a be all end all of how hard a motor can rev. (Note; the valvetrain design is also very important!) For example, the Honda B18C was actually undersquare, despite the fact that it revs easy to 8000rpm+.
  11. I've used BCPR6ES in my mates NEO with no problems... Just gap them properly with a feeler gauge.
  12. Was this a Red Ralliart one with big rims?
  13. Maybe you need to lean out the cold start enrichment a bit HRthirtyone. I've run 7s for years now and none have ever had problems with fouling up.
  14. Nah man leave it I say!
  15. Heh I work in Whyalla. Whats the deal with this?
  16. A nice guy in a mint white R32 GTR with the plates GODZILLA gave me the thumbs up in town today. Nice car man!
  17. I won't put a deposit down yet because I don't know if I'll be in town that weekend. So.. take down my name but I'll put it back up if/when I know for sure.
  18. Absolutely second that. Plus, the stocker manifold on most cars are pretty good for spool up (unless they're a crappy log design to begin with). Equal length ones have longer and wider runners meaning less exhaust pulse energy by the time it hits the turbine.
  19. Yep its normal for the KAAZ not to chatter when cold. I believe the oil is too thick for the clutch plates to function correctly. My 1.5 chatters to all buggery once hot. First time passengers think a wheel has fallen off or something! I will be adding some of the Redline LSD additive to quiet it down a bit because my car is primary a streeter, not a track warrior. The additive makes the oil a bit more slippery, and thus the clutch plates don't grip as easily.
  20. Thats "HARD GAY". A Japanese guy who runs amuck. Check it out on youtube. Damn funny.
  21. cowie165, it depends on the viscosity. The 5W50 is the cheapest at roughly 50-60 bux. The 10W30 and the 0W40 are more expensive (about ~$68 at my local distro).
  22. Don't waste your money on any oil to 'clean out'. They are not designed to clean up crap left behind by other oils. If you must have an oil that has a high amount of detergents, pick up a bottle of Caltex Delo 400 for $30. Its on par with Delvac 1. Even then more detergents doesnt mean it cleans existing deposits better.
  23. Sorry mate but thats incorrect. Nothing filters better than paper. K&N and most foam types filter nowhere near as good as normal cellulose. How else do you think they flow better.. magic?
  24. ^^ I cant actually find the 'correction factor' at the bottom of the sheet. Just the environmental data + ramp rate etc...
  25. 82-85 on the street is A-OK Roy. The temp sender may not be accurate to the degree but most engine temps sit at or just above the thermostat temp. On hotter summer days it'll be 5-10C higher than the thermostat temp. Normally a thermostat will close roughly 5C lower than its set temperature. Also I think high 90s is OK for the track. I'd probably think about pullin the plug when its more like 110C? Remember with a proper cap + coolant it wont boil until 120C.
