  1. If it doesnt flash at all its either dead or you are not in the correct diagnostic mode. If its erratic... well you have to explain exactly how it flashes. Its not going to be blinking at a completely steady rate but it should pulse once or twice per second.
  2. Yes its a very good test. You basically are counting how many transitions its making (ie flashes). I believe it has to be at least 8 times every 10 seconds. As O2 sensors age, they get slower and the transition times are longer.
  3. To make it clearer, I start with 0.8mm. Then I increase the gap by 0.05mm until there is misfire under full throttle. Then I backstep 0.1mm from the gap size that misfired and settle at that.
  4. I'm thinking its probably the fact that at 11.8:1 with a high hp/liter ratio will smoke where as other less powerful cars at the same AFR will not smoke.
  5. What Hyundai do you have mate.
  6. Yeah I'd be down for this. Old skool gaming FTW! Wolfenstein would be a cracker!
  7. What Redline oil in particular did you use Bass Junky? Hey btw was that you doing the continual donuts to the point where the car blew up?
  8. Yep I gap em until the point of misfire on full boost, then drop the gap back by 0.1mm.
  9. Well outta interest one day, I compared my Catco 'high flow' cat to my stock cat and its basically identical to except the Catco has 3" flanges instead. The honeycomb density is identical. The Catco's body is actually a tad smaller. I fail to see how its a 'high flow' cat at all!!! 3" flanges vs 2.5" doesn't make it 'high flow' IMHO. Needless to say as an experiment I put a straight pipe in its place. Haven't looked back. A couple of dB more noise but definitely better performance. Here in SA every second car is a rusted POS/carby powered car so one more car with no cat makes no difference (only gets driven twice a month). Yes I'll be buying a Metal Cat in the very near future so save the flamage.
  10. I've used the tow hooks. However I put the 2 car jacks under them, with the hydraulic jack also providing some help underneath the motor crosmember.
  11. Devlac won't do any 'cleaning' as such.
  12. Yeah but the chances of having crap cleaned out causing leaks and damage is not really related to diesel/synethic oils. Its more applicable to engine flushes like Nulon's etc.
  13. No problems. Just buy the Mobil 1 0W40 or the 10W30 next time. Both are substantially thinner than the 5W50.
  14. No. Get a FMIC and then a PowerFC or a Dr Drift remap!
  15. I guess the boys at Aston Martin, AMG etc who use Mobil 1 as their factory fill should run something else too then I take it?
  16. Delvac 1 probably won't clean anything but its worth a shot. Its a great oil and certainly can stand up to Redline. Btw its *perfectly* safe to use in any motor. It has API SL ratings. I've used it with good results!
  17. ctjet has quoted flywheel kw. Stock figures vary greatly but I would say for the 200SX's; S14- 105 rwkw and S15 spec R and spec S -~115rwkw
  18. You sure its not overboosting on the gearchange (ie when you mash the throttle again)? This happened to me a while back and it'd misfire for a split second.
  19. Yeah my car has the same phenomenon. My wideband reports high 11s on full boost yet I still have smoke happening. I'd try leaning it out to 12.5 which may clear things up but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I have no cat so this may be contributing to the smoke. The car uses no oil so I just say, thats the way it is...
  20. Saw one out here in the sticks too. The ass end looks like crap. The sides are passable. The front is what looks ok but even then the flaring/fenders still look a bit on the weird side.
  21. ^^ Haha yeah I know what you mean. But I just pop it into neutral with the clutch in when at the lights etc. Another method is to load (slip) the clutch plates ever so slightly slightly and the noise goes away when you're idling/waiting to move off as well. The noise isnt as bad as a clunking KAAZ LSD though lol.
  22. I'd try to keep it at all costs. When its a 40C day and your ass and back is glued to the seat with sweat, I'm sure you'd be crying out for the aircon!
  23. Only if it came with Recaro's stock I'd say.
  24. PM "aylesy" on www.nissansilvia.com Btw Shell making Pennzoil? Thats wierd. You sure you read that right?
  25. Should be available at any Auto Parts store or Brake place. Bendix is like weeds. Its everywhere.
