  1. I used some old rags. Dodgy but works good.
  2. Hi SK, Would you be able to elaborate on the results? What kind of pressure drops were you seeing with the GTR cores and the aftermarket ones? And at what boost pressure/kw?
  3. Yeah! Wdf! The 3.5 hour drive to Adelaide for me and Iceduck312 better not turn out to be for nothin!
  4. The 044 I have now is quieter than the 040 I had in my previous car. Odd but I'm not complaining!
  5. Why not the GT30R? Seems like an ideal turbo... Although the HKS 2835 Pro S is a nice choice, just a little expensive though.
  6. Just throw in some Nulon Octane booster for the day man.
  7. I use Delvac 1 and for the money, its second to none, and is one of the worlds best oils, regardless of price. In fact, if anything it is better than their own Mobil 1 Super Syn range. Its a pity its so hard to find though.
  8. Wha, PDA support would be super awesome if he implements it. I'm up for this!! Hope it works on WM5 though. I find keeping a laptop in the car a bit too overboard... where as a PDA would be cool for sure!
  9. If they had this for PDAs, then this stuff would be the gun!!
  10. EGTs measured after the turbo are almost meaningless because you don't know the real EGTs at the exhaust valve. Put one into the turbo manifold, thats a good spot!
  11. 205kw @ 8psi? Interesting....
  12. A RB20 with 6 T28s is considered naturally aspirated in my books! It'll never make any boost.
  13. The forcast as it stands is that it'll be raining on Sunday. Damn....
  14. Yes they are ball bearing. Same wheels as the GT28RS except the compressor is 63 trim instead of 62.
  15. I don't like piggy backs because at the end of the day your just riding a stock ECU. I've found with piggy backs that the AFRs can change over time, and same with the ignition timing because the stock ECU plays with them and theres nothing you can do with it. What about when you do an ECU reset, your fuel/ignition maps are not right anymore because the ECU is starting to learn its fuel/ignition correction tables from scratch again. Chuck on bigger injectors/AFMs etc and you can just imagine how hard a piggy back is trying to fool the stock ECU. You can only do so much! Stand alone you have complete control. emanages are for tightasses who cant go the extra mile and do it right with a PowerFC. All the talk about A/C and cold start etc is a completely non issue with PowerFCs. Hell it even has closed loop when tuned good. What more could you ask for, for the price? PowerFCs are so cheap now. Back in the day when they were closer to 2k then its understandable. Remember $500 difference at the end of the day when you add up the money you waste on modifying, is not much really.
  16. Defects arent common on cruises. It just takes 1 hero behind the wheel, attemping to drift every corner or using thrashing it in heavily urban areas to attract police attention.
  17. I recieved my kit today. Thanks mate! Can't wait to give them a go on the weekend. I'll do a mini writeup if anyone wants..
  18. Just hope its not one of those 'if you can't keep up then bad luck' sorta cruises.. But hopefully it'd be good. Maybe stop somewhere for a bite too?
  19. Brock's head musta been polarised when he thought of that shit. Even funnier than magnets on a fuel line. Classic indeed.
  20. Get a cheap one and ram a pole through it. The highest flowing cat on the market. On a more serious note I believe the Metal Cat and Magic Cats are the highest flowing on the market, but on a lower powered car theres a bees dick difference between all 3.
  21. Time to slip in that boost controller into your parents WRX and go for another
  22. The PCV comes out very easily. Just disconnect the hose to it and then use a set of pliers to wiggle it out. Done. Be sure to block up the hose going to the plenum and run another hose from the cam cover to somewhere else or you'll get oil going all over the place.
  23. DA is on the 27th-28th May. http://www.driftaustralia.com.au/events.asp
  24. The problem is that if you have the catch can venting to atmosphere, you've created a 'vacuum leak' in the rocker cover. This is because at idle and cruise speeds, the PCV valve is open and the vacuum is pulling air from the rocker cover into the plenum (oil vapours to be burnt). The air im referring to makes it way through the catch can --> rocker cover---> PVC ----> intake plenum meaning you have a new vacuum leak. I found that when I had my catch can set up like this, I had a lean idle (rough) and light throttle applications got a bit funny sometimes. Remedy? Pull out the PCV itself from the rocker cover and have the hole venting to the catch can aswell (or out to atmosphere). Don't forget to block up the plenum side.
  25. I'd say given the option, the GT2835 Pro S is a better deal because it has better scope for more power when you are tired of 270rwkw
