  1. Sweet I'm down for some boosting! Iceduck312 will be in too. black33_26 did you beat the STi? If so, then its worth it! lol
  2. Nah had a S14 last time. This ones another car I'll bring it out if the cruise is on a suitable day..
  3. Either this weekend or the Sunday after (21st) I'm cool with! If its the Sunday after Mothers Day, Iceduck312 can come along too.
  4. Cheers man, keep up the good work.
  5. Its not also just a matter of power, but how _long_ can it support it. ie its heatsinking capabilities. Ie go boosting in the hills for half an hour on a warm day and I'll guarrantee you'll burn your hand on it, even with say 150rwkw. However have 200rwkw and have a 5 second fang in a cold night and it wouldnt be has hot as the previous example. Basically for heatsinking purposes, all stock intercoolers are built to a budget. ie quite poor.
  6. Its simple. If you pull 5 degrees out and it still shows knock, your sensor might be shagged. If it doesnt, then its in good working order. 5 deg is alot of timing and should fix any knocking in most motors.
  7. Lower viscosity oils have nothing to do with detonation at all really... Coolant temps might but at the end of the day its a real bandaid fix via a cooler thermostat. I'd be using a borescope and sussing out the amount of carbon you have on the piston tops etc. Excessive deposits can raise the compression, leading to pinging. Old pinging cars are a testament to this. Then again another 3 RON increase to 98 wont give you another 50rwkw either. Hmmm...
  8. Goddamn it, Aussie cars are getting too quick for their own good! Good on them though...
  9. You're obviously driving around in the wrong gear! Anyways, I reckon a lightweight flywheel will help fix low RPM performance. It certainly helped mine, and a cammed SR20 is no torque monster either.
  10. First of all I would try increasing the coolant cap pressure as this can help raise the coolant efficiency by a small amount. Then I would try some Redline Water Wetter Additive and/or reducing the coolant dilution ratio down a bit more to increase the efficiency of the coolant once again. (to 20%) Third, run cylinder 6 a little more rich than the rest, like +3%! Hope these tips help.
  11. Definitely worth fixing the camber. More traction and less uneven wear. Win/win situation man! Any more than -1 deg is too much on the rear for a streeter IMO!! (Don't forget as the car squats you get more [dynamic] camber again..)
  12. Yep and when they get dirty they can't accurately measure the air or go a bit haywire, especially at low loads.
  13. Just leave the Hi and Lo maps on 0% correction and she'll run just the same as if it wasnt installed.
  14. Going by those specs, the HKS 2530s are a fair bit bigger (bigger trim comp/turbine).
  15. Just letting you know I paid the remained ($180). Thanks!
  16. You ricer Roy! Going for the 'sound' rather than anything else! If anything i crave the RB smoothness. Sounds and feels cool but after a while I get sick of it, like a atmo BOV if you know what I mean. Was thinking, u want a rough idle, just lean her out a bit to the point where it starts missing at idle load points. Then you get the shakes and misfires and general farting around that you're craving for lol. Oh yeah 9krpm's 272s sounded pretty damn tough on idle. Probably too rough for a street car I'd say though.
  17. No offence but the midrange could be better... although you cant argue with the final figure.
  18. Although I am no suspension expert, the stiffer springs and shocks can reduce the weight transfer upon launching ie less rear squat. But its not a dead end for sure, getting the correct camber, toe and tyres can affect traction in a huge way.
  19. I cant see how coilovers will help traction. Getting a set of camber arms (or bushes) certainly will though.
  20. Nice pics Nozilla.
  21. I'd run a thermostat regardless. That way your coolant temp is regulated better and your coolant gets up to temp faster. They're cheap anyway so theres no excuse!
  22. What type of headlights do you have on your silvia? Are they the 3 ball tye or the square type?
  23. Alright put me down for a set of these. H1 5000k. For the price you cant go wrong I say.
  24. Test it when the car is warm. Don't do it cold as there will be excessive friction because you need to spin it at idle speed for 10 or so seconds before it becomes freely spinning (due to the oil distribution in the viscous clutch).
  25. Yep should be fine man!
