  5. Well I think I spoke on behalf of Brad & myself... we spotted each other's V35 coupes over english conversion install in Nth Sunshine tonight.
  6. Just got back. First Melbourne install (Brad's) done as above! MILLOS, you're next tomorrow!
  7. you pretty much have to import everything either from japan or USA not much demand locally to get v35 parts being stocked as much as its r32/r33/r34 siblings
  8. you bought a V35 already, Stephen?
  9. ah, so that was you George. yeah 05 version and above will be available after the new year, will keep you posted
  10. Glad to be there, glad to see some old faces and met some new faces too
  11. Thank's Andy... that was the 3rd take ! the 1st take I was babbling too much off topic. 2nd take I was repeating stuffs twice...
  12. went to Neway @Heidelberg, my wheel is now looking new again, and if it peels off bring it back they will fix for free. it should not peel off
  13. if you fancy looking at mine in action:
  14. yes, my bad. it was something that was somehow set in the car's navigation that caused the compass being pointed somewhere else. all sorted now.
  15. I will have to take a professional course in triathlon or water polo in order to do that. Previously the car's target point was somehow set/locked just a few metres off Tokyo harbour right in the sea, the last place the car before embarks on its journey to Australia... But it wouldn't be fun swimming in all those harbour's water... who knows what could lurk under those container ships, slimy sea creatures, ship engine's diesel residues, dead body strapped by the Yakuza under the ship, yuck. I can imagine something nibbling on my toe already.
  16. Ok I had a chat with the developer and just to re-cap some of that above to eliminate any misunderstanding: - japanese translated to english - YES - fuel consumption from km/ltr to ltr/100km - YES - clock display showing Australian time - YES - fixed my compass - NO - my compass was never 'broken' in the first place, here is what the developer said: The compass wasn't part of the conversion. The developer said I must have had my car's japanese navigation set to a certain destination in Japan by the previous owner and was somehow set to 'align' with some kind of landmark. That skew the compass off as it will try to align the car to a certain point. When the conversion is installed it somehow either 'reset' that when I removed the japanese navi dvd to insert the install ROM, or either I have now understand what the japanese navi menu means and was able to turn off that annoying destination that the car kept wanting me to go to in the past year or so.
  17. still a skyline, but yeah $6k turnkey solution on V36 I was told - a swap with 370Z ADM unit. that may sound steep but anyone who spent $45k+ on a V36 might as well get the navi/tv dept sort out properly if there is an equivalent ADM edition available as a donor part.
  18. for general public, yes. there is SAU special price about $180, will double confirm but very likely it is correct. aren't you glad to be part of a great club?
  19. let me know when you're in melbourne, pm if necessary, i'll see if I can fit. i'd rather wait till the patch to the DST algorithm is completed so I can install the latest version into yours, but even without it all the screens you need will be functional, and the patch can be applied anytime later.
  20. It's an activation based 'service', in which a first part will be installed to generate a unique code. The developer will only activate the unique code through Andy (NSW), Chris (QLD) or me (VIC). This was to prevent 'piracy' so the developer get paid for all their hard work over the past year working on this. We don't actually give out the disc as each install code is unique to each vehicle's time & location of installation and only usable once, and after it's activated the activation code is of no use to other vehicles, and basically is discarded. So it's not like buying a retail box version of Need for Speed game in EB Games :-) Due to the time difference with Russia & the time of actual installation, activation can happen on the same day but if timing is not suitable for you then it can be done on a later day. In between activation process you can drive around your car for days without worries. Ideally we want to go through the process after 3pm in the afternoon as that is the best window of time to get things done with the russian programmer.
  21. one more good news, previously my compass heading was off by about 90 degree. e.g. i'm heading south but my compass on the screen shows i'm heading west. Chris told me that the further south of the equator i am, the bigger the issue could be as the gyro was configured for northern hemisphere. after the english conversion applied, not only it fixed my screen's clock to match melbourne's time, it also fix my compass heading! now i know where i'm heading if i decided not to use the garmin nav. :-) I think the developer has done more than just translating the language, good work! in summary: - japanese translated to english, most screens including some navigation menus, of course the map wont work - fuel consumption from km/ltr to ltr/100km the australian way! - clock display showing australian time - fixed my compass - i can't confirm this until I see other people's compass that was off and is fixed too after to this conversion.
  22. Guys, I will aim if not earlier, in the next Melbourne meet, for a chance to you guys who have factory navi/tv and wanted an english conversion - it can be done now, I am playing with the screen functionality on my car as I am writing this post. However depending on time (8hr time difference between here & moscow) it may have to be done over 2 days minimum. Ideally is 3pm onwards.
  23. Spotted a storm blue V35 coupe this afternoon going home from work at William St going towards Peel St beside VIC Market in the city. Anyone here?
  24. agree... all it takes is the previous owner not treating the gearbox well, regardless if it's a 2004 model it will still go bang. they may be cheaper to buy, but they may not be cheaper to own. For example, CVT gearbox oil need to be ordered special, and they cost about $1000 excluding labour just for the oil itself. as long as V35 is not lowered, I don't see any issue with ride height especially since they are higher than 350Z from factory, but if you are worried about ride height as other ppl said should have gone for a 4WD. heck we have a RAV4 in addition to he V35 and the RAV4 is a great affordable 4WD!
