  3. still looking to get one sometime
  4. yer they used dog turds when they welded it bro
  5. ive got a cut and rewelded stock rb25 plenum on my rb25 motor. just wondering if there ok in terms of flowing evenly to all cylinders. just because i have recently done a compression test and the number 6 piston i think it is (closest to firewall) is down to 50 psi or so. the others have a fair bit of variance also. i just wanna find out if people think thats what would have caused it or if it would have happened if it was normal style. coz ive got a rb30 twincam motor il be putting in soon but dont wanna put it in with that plenum if its gunna make the new motor do the same thing. ive got a greedy copy plenum here also i could put in but im thinking il just use the standard one again for ease of installation coz i think the greedy one is sorta hard after looking at the guide. or is it really not that hard to put on in regards to changing a few pipes and throttle cable mounting and stuff and i should use the greedy copy one with 80mm throttle body? this is the one in my car. would it flow evenly and stuff. the vl turbo guys have the same sorta ones and its very common for them to have it made like my one. one of the main shops even uses that sort on a 8 second drag car rb30. i think also, will i have the problem with the bit hitting the bonnet with this current plenum since its different? cant remember where they hit the bonnet with rb30 bottomend with rb25 head.
  6. looking to get a rb25det oil pump for a new motor. will need pics to make sure its the right one. im on brisbane northside. tell me the price and send me pics will go new or used. does anyone know how mucha new one is?
  7. does anyone know what needs to be done to use a wolf 3d v4 computer thats been tuned for a series 1 r33 now i wanna run it on my series 2 rb25det? its the plugin one. i cant just plug it in and use it coz itl wreck stuff right? apparently there the same computer and can be used on either one
  8. thanks for the reply. if i get it welded and then resurfaced again how much would it affect the compression ratio? say if it was going to be 8.2:1 if i put it on now what would it be once i get it resurfaced again after getting it welded? would there be any problems with the squish (whatever that is) or any chance the valves will hit the pistons now? i just dunno how much effect it will have on it when it gets resurfaced coz im not a mechanic and dont know about that sort of technical stuff. or will it only make the slightest difference and its nothing to worry about at all? il be using a standard rb30 nissan headgasket.
  9. do most of you guys get more area welded onto the head on the front water gallery i think it is how its different from the rb30 block? i got my head rebuilt but didnt know about getting that bit modded to get more gasket sealing area there. will it be ok to leave it how it is? its a rb25det head from a r33
  10. can anyone else tell me wheather they welded the extra on the area or just put it together as it is?
  11. thanks for the replies guys. am i meant to use a rb30 gasket for it? i think il take it back to the shop with the gasket and see what they rekn about how much surface there is for it to seal
  12. ive got a r33 rb25det head that i got modded with the vct hole welded up and the new fitting put in at the front. i didnt get any extra welded on where the gasket seals. do most people get that done or leave it as is? i didnt know about iuntill after i had it done. if i take it back to the shop and get more welded to the area and then resurfaced will it effect the compression or make the valves hit the pistons or anything from being resurfaced too many times or anything? would it be fine how it is? ive got a rb30 gasket. is that the right one to use? i had read the guide and printed it out and dropped it off at the machine shop when i got everything recondiotioned but didnt realise about adding extra to where the gasket seals also. doeas anyone know where to get new tensioners and how much they are? i went to my local nissan-holden parts store and they couldnt get me any.

  14. i have a rebuilt rb30 bottomend series 2. has new mahle cast pistons and rings and all new king bearings. its 1mm bored out. has a crank collar fitted and has the hole tapped for second tensioner for twincam head conversion but can probably just block it if you want it for single cam head. i have a new complete bottomend gasket set minus headgasket to go with it. i put the crank and bearings in myself but had to take it to the shop to get the pistons put in coz i couldnt do it easily and they said its in properly. has new welsch plugs also. it has rb30e oil pump that was cleaned and inspected and put back together if you want it also. and have the water pump off it also. its rb30 non turbo compression pistons. its wrapped up still from the shop. selling coz i wont be using it for a while now. the crank is grub screwed also. crank was linished and and whatever the usual things done are i want $1500 for it. ive got receipts for all the stuff done on it pm me. located on northside brisbane

  16. do i do it with the throttle fully open also? i think ive read that somewhere do i just take the fuse out thats in the boot of my r33?
  17. do i have to take the fuse out for the fuel pump or anything?
  18. i just want to find out the process for doing a compression test. its on a rb25det
  19. with the launch control and antilag and whatever else would i need something ontop of the computer to use the features? like a handcontroller or something? and do they have to be set up and is it hard or would it be included in the fitting and tuning price if i chose ot use them?
  20. hi hypergear. just a question hopefully you can answer for me. i have bought a new t66 turbo bush bearing. is it normal for them to have abit of side to side shaft play when new? the front only move ever so slightly but the back seems to move abit more. i believe it would definately be under 1mm maybe between about .5mm to 1mm i dunno and i dont want to keep doing it to get an exact measurement coz it will probably wreck it right? do you think its ok coz i wont be using it for a while so i want to make sure its good before the 1 year warranty runs out. and also it has a 2.5 inch exhaust outlet. if i make my dump pipe with the 2.5 inch flange straight out to a 3 inch asap will it still flow like a 3 inch exhaust would if it was a 3 inch outlet on the back of the turbo? thanks mate
  21. ive already got the oil hole welded up and the head reconditioned. is that bad?
  22. what headgasket do i use to put a rb25det head on a rb30 block? i bought a rb30 one so i hope its right. some of the holes are different so i dunno. and with the right gasket once i confirm which one and with the hole on the head welded up its a straight bolt on isnt it? like where the oil gallery i think it is at the front is a different shape near where the hole is welded up is it ok to just bolt it together with the different shaped holes together?
  23. i used the plugs without the 11 on the end im pretty sure
  24. it was misfiring really bad when you gave it any throttle at all with the old plugs. now it goes ok and doesnt splutter but wont pull hard when i give it mare than about a quarter throttle. theres abit of a history with the car. i have another thread on it on here with the problems if you have anything to contribute to it. its a rb20det in a vl and when the guy did the modplate last year in august i think he said he remembered about it having isuues with the coilpacks. he remembered it coz i had to go back to him after i bought the car coz a letter on the modplate was wrong and he asked if i sorted the coilpack issues so i dont know if its ever ran properly since the motors been in the car and its been passed on two or three times since he saw the car so im thinking it might still be the same problem. the guy i got it off said his mechanic said it was fuel pump or fuel regulator. the guy before that guy said he replaced the intank fuel pump and it was still the same. so i want to fix it cheap hopefully sometime. if anyone in brisbane can loan me some coilpacks il get them off you for abit if your a cool dude so let me know. or one of the igniter boxes il try also.
