  1. true. It will not meet legal emission laws. I beleive its called a "screamer". Confirmation?
  2. No.. Its nothing to do with a "newbie". Every person on here is a newbie, constantly learning something new. But all the information is right in front of you staring you in the face. You just need to put in a little bit of effort to find it. Its not very hard. You will learn more and retain it if your source the information yourself. Its not an attack on you, far from it. I dont mean to be a bully, far from it, I am here to help. But by helping yourself its 10 fold better. And there was the thread I was waiting for.
  3. Oh jeez, not this shit again. Seriously, why didnt you just ask the seller on what model Skyline it was on? 1) 33's will match all 33's. Turbo and NA will make no diffrence. The size is right. Ask him! its that simple! 2) No. But WARINGING! It will be LOUD without one. 3) Its going to be loud as all buggery. And in 2 weeks when you get sick of it there will be ANOTHER "How do I make my exhaust quiter" thread In before the lock again! Gosh I need to stop arseing around and do my uni work..
  4. WOW.. way to complicate things boys! Yes. This is true what is being said. Theoretically. But in all honesty. Take a step back! This is not a defining aspect. There are far more important issues (Air temp, humudity, dyno, petrol, air flow, air quality etc.) that will be more influential in a "final figure" in terms a power figure or even the "seat of the pants" test. Your going doing to experience any diffrence. These very minor details are not going to have huge effects upon a vehicles performance (well not when your talking about ye ol faithful RB25). When you get to the world stage of V8's, touring cars F1 etc. these insignificant diffrences make a diffrence. But even then you dont have to worrie about mufflers. So I suppose its just a thread for a thread's sake, an argument for the sake of arguing. I suppose its an interesting thread as an idea. But little practicallity. Simple is always best. And simplest is straight. Either way its going (twin or single) to make bugger all diff. And final word is:
  5. People are throwing all this information at you. But it comes down to you. How often are you above 4,000? More often than not? Then you want 3" Are you frequently in traffic and want responce when you jump on the loud pedal? Your not too fussed about all out flat chat speed? 2.5" And please dont start a "what brand of exhaust is best" thread.
  6. I wouldnt call him a terrible driver, but comes no where near the UK stig. +1 for the enforcer!
  7. All PM's replyed/sent. Im getting lot of interest guys.. but no one very serious yet! Keep them comming and photo away!
  8. I suppose you could weld the tip of the miffler to the exhaust and leave the inlet as the tip. So as the muffler is 3inch to a 2 inch tip. or something of the sorts. Back to the thread, IBTL
  9. Quick question Chris, How do I run ATTESSA diagnosis? Cheers big ears
  10. Had a look but I only have the R34 and R32 workshop manuals. Dont have the 33 one. Google it. It will have the diffrence in there. I beleive the rear mount is different. I know in terms of R32 the GTST has a round mount while th GTS4 and GTR have a fork mount. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...tel-t87826.html I guess you found your answer
  11. Correct me if im wrong: Arnt the bottom mounts of the GTS4 springs diffrent to the GTST? But same as GTR? I know this is the case for R32's. Skylines are pretty much the same with other cars with the big 100,000km service where water pump and a couple of seals should also be done. Have a search, massive thread on this.
  12. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! SHANE! Four door drift love! Keeps lookin good mate! Hows the body roll going?
  13. Yes.. this is true. But even the supercheap items have the tip welded to the muffler so its impossible to mess this one up. All mufflers have a tip larger than the entry point.
  14. Thats right.. forgot about that! As above.
  15. Gosh who ever you quoted that from is an AWESOME bloke! You have your answere in your first thread. Twin or not. There is no difference. I dont care. There just isn't. Its too late in the exhaust system. The gass is being pushed out, the tips are ALWAYS bigger than the rest of the system etc. etc. etc. its only for the look. Do I need another "In Before the Lock" photo too? Is it school holidays already?
  16. What you need: GTR front bar GTR reo bar GTR blinkers GTR quarter pannels GTR Bonnet GTR bonnet latch GTR Grill GTST headlights can be used
  17. Dude.. at 200,000 km. in Australias Hot conditions I got $100 that sais is the hoses in the boot. Continue to follow the lines through th chassis too. May need replaceing and as Matt said, canister hoses. And watch your fuel consumtion bottom out
  18. PM's sent! Keep em comming guys! I may be looking for two wheels now!
  19. A twin exhaust? Im going to go out on a limb here and say the tip of the muffler? Because twin or single its going to make absolutely no diffrence. Its far too late in the exhaust system for it to have any effect of noise or "performance" or anything of the sorts. Purely show
  20. I think people are throwing the wrong words around. “Resonating” and “Rattling” are not interchangeable. To resonate means that a vibration of large amplitude in a mechanical system caused by a relatively small stimulus so as the vibration is amplified. Essentially. And we all know what a “rattle” is. So a completely different symptom. I personally had the same problem. I replaced my stock catback with a 3” Nismo Catback I Have heard of other that have stopped it too with a new exhaust. As explained in the thread i posted. In the later R33's they had a butterfly that stayed closed at lower throttle imputs to lessen the severity of the metallic resonating. This may help. A "Catback" exhaust is from the catalytic converter to the exhaust tip.
  21. Semi Slicks are sold. Everything else, throw something out
  22. You have a PM buddy. Still looking guys!
