  1. just roll the car over to bleed
  2. Yeah i bought a set new too for my series 6.... cried in my pillow for days.
  3. be careful too as the lobes may hit the lifter walls if the lift is too great.
  4. 500-600 bucks, we've picked up a few from qld wreckers for around that lately inc freight.
  5. yeah there is a few remap options available now but they are dear, best off with a new ecu. I cant justify them to my customers.
  6. should not do that at 400m, i have used cars here in dandenong that live / compete on mt buller and mt Isa (google that one ) and the differrence is enough to effect the tune but not enough to foul plugs. It should be factored for though.
  7. Im not sure who bought up TEIN HA's as they were discontinued 6-7 yrs ago If your on a strict budget and you dont mind a choppy street ride go ISC or HSD, if your after something half decent go Greddy Type S, TEIN SS or MONOFLEX or a better yet a bilstein package... the extra will be well worth it. Pity you dont have a R32 Geraus as ive got a set of near new ISC's we just pulled out of a customers car, he upgraded to a set of TYPE S he bought of ebay and cant believe the difference.
  8. i needed mine asap so i ordered it via may machinist, I reckon mine came from precision parts here in vic i paid about $906 CJ have them a bit cheaper here http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/cj-motor__W...Q_fsubZ20921914
  9. i take it you have one? i tune everything from Haltech, Motec, Autronic, Mircrotech, Adaptronic, Emanage, Reytec, Vipec, Link, PFC, Wolf, VCM suite, BRE and i can tell you the microtech is the BLUNTEST tool among them. Carbies do 6 second passes should we all go buy one?
  10. Never.... a calculator would do a better job. I do a alot of microtech tuning and i can tell you they are shit.... extremley basic (will make peak power) but are poor for cruise, very coarse mapping points etc... the emanage blue could match the lt-10s power delivery easy but offer far better driveablilty. im sick of people saying the microtech is a good ecu for rb's... they arent unless your after the cheapest least featured ecu that will JUST run your car. The only person who defends them are owners who dont know what they are missing.
  11. impossible.... unless running stoopid boost.
  12. best bet is to forget the numbers and concentrate on the results ie actual lambda. move the injector setting to say 650 then play with the lag times (0.5 - 0.9). Some injectors require thinking way outside the norm and the only way to set it up is by trial and error... bit of a bummer.
  13. bingo, we have a winner. excellent little fkrs if set up properly on a std car, killers if not.
  14. yep ATI or nothing... i'll leave it at that.
  15. The most important factor in broken oil pumps after corect assy...... the balancer. Get a decent balancer plain and simple.
  16. i think i got a new old stock s13 p'n'play kit laying around, will have a look.
  17. I have not read the whole thread but the person who wrote the above email brings some valid points to the table, i too have had in the past to pull EMU's from cars that they did not really suit, For example i have a good customer running a fully built RB30/25 with cams and a GT3076, whilst this is a pretty simple setup the EMU is not all that well suited as the factory base maps the EMU modifies is based on a 2.5l.... boost cut needs to be clamped early which leaves to much "adjustments" or "Comprimises" as posted above. I currentley have a 300rwkw 180sx in with EMU that i have built for a customer the car started off with the aim of 250rwkw but a full house build and TRUST turbo kit has raised the power levels to a point that makes me uncomfortable tuning the EMU as to get 300rwkw out of the EMU will involve way too much work and comprimise especially in the timing tables. The EMU "was" a great budget ecu as it was well under a grand all up before the aud went south and for many applications it was more than adeqate and i still have no issues tuning one but i do like to set a general rule of thumb of less than <260-270rwkw, One good this is you still have the factory KNOCK maps to drop back into if you get bad fuel etc.... I find the biggest issue with badly tuned EMU's that come in for assesment get tuned by tuners unfamiliar with factory ecu's. They tend to tune in the factory ecu's KNOCK map. Whilst tuning a EMU one must contiually check the ECU has not switched over, it is as simple as saving what you are doing and shutting the car down for a few minutes and then continuing on. A car tuned in the knock map will tend to exhibit random fits, pinging and fueling issues. We do alot of R34's andJZX100 chasers as PFC's are scarce (kill JZX auto's if shift pressures tuned incorrectly) and the EMU is very JZX Auto friendly. i reckon your car should work fine however im not sure what the expected output of that particular hypergear is (i find the hypergears are built one by one and everytime i get one they are differrent). If your aim is 250rwkw im confident the EMU will be perfectley fine, there are a few tips though. The emanage likes highflow injectors on Rb25's etc as the lag times stay constant, many tuners find setting the lag time compesation very tricky. If pays to ignore the lag numbers and concentrate on the lambda.. ie concentrate on the result not the numbers. If looking over 250rwkw then i highly reccomend using the optional map sensor. cheers Trent i hope it makes some sense, ive just returned from the v8 supercars at winton and am still fairly pissy Biante cars were the highlight BTW
  18. www.linkecu.co.nz is where they are coming from.
  19. Dave i still have not recieved your map, still happy to have a look over it. [email protected] Cheers Trent
  20. this is cause people cant read instructions. The emanage blue will be fine, it does the same job as the Haltech interceptor etc.... but at half the price. I have a few std NA sr20's that have been turboed runing mid 200-230rwkw's with no dramas.
  21. the s14 caliper is average compared to r33 etc... just something to bear in mind.
  22. which workshop is doing the work? pm if you like. And seriously take the nay sayers with a grain of salt, your workshop has done thier homework no doubt as no one would promise results they cant provide as your paying the bill
  23. loves it some of the v8's ive done with 250hp of nos run 12.5-13:1 comp ratio.
