  1. Its more about weight transfer Bunt. In a car you turn the wheel and it transfers the weight for you. On a bike to go fast you have to climb all over them like a monkey on a stick each time you want to change direction. It takes time.
  2. Over a standard family car maybe maybe they brake better but not a modified vehicle with tricked out suspension and brakes. And they have about 1/3 the cornering speed. they have no f**king rubber on the road to speak of. Go do some research. The best super bike times cant get within a bulls roar of car times on a race track, even with their obvious power to weight advantage on the straights.
  3. I call horseshit. Very few bikes will out run a set up car on the twistys. Straight line is an entirely different kettle of fish. The "busa's" are good for about 300 plus kph with acceleration from hell. Dont sweat it, Its only a temporary thing. I remember before most of you were born when bike cops were all the rage. As the pediatric ward of the local hospitals filled up with cop motorcyclists they began to dissapear till the only time you saw them were at official functions doing escort duty. The current cash scrapped government is looking to garner as much revenue as they possibly can for the least amount of outlay. A fat sports bike costs way less to put on the road than a car so they'll go that way till enough of them get hurt that compo claims start to outweigh the returns. Can they ride, Bet your sweet arse they can, These guys live on their machines day in and day out. They get pretty damn good at it.
  4. Whats up with that Marlin. I just added a cage to my car. Does that mean I have to run open?
  5. They are identical. The only difference is in the bolt patterns for the manifolds, the vct, and in the case of the 33 head hydraulic lifters. You would be surprised at how little difference there is between a 25 and a 26 long engine. The engine blocks are the same with the 26 having one extra oil return hole for the second turbo. Crank is slightly different for the extra 60 odd cc capacity. If you think about it it was just good business sense on nissans part to utilise what they already had in inventory. Even the 25 box is simply a gtr box minus the transfer gear. The conspiratorial side of me suspects the only reason they made the few slight changes was to stop precious GEETEEAAAAARRR owners whinging in much the same way the GT falcon boys whinge about the XR6 being a tougher car.
  6. And may birdman never grab hold of my wang. He'd never ever ever ever let it go!
  7. I.ve been using fram filters for a while now and never had any contamination issues.
  8. They're both hanging on the wall dow at the work shop Bunt. Next time you go down have a bo peep. Dont confuse what I am getting at here though. I should have qualified my version of "average" power. I am willing to bet London to a brick that I see far more useable power on any given circuit lap than G man does. Matter of fact I would bet my car on it.
  9. Nah, Down south they already have the 108 octane bud. it farken stinks. There are several threads on it in the forced induction section.
  10. spot on! I make 530 ish with the .82 housing and there aint much left. The 35/82 does spool very quickly compared to the To4z and bigger brothers. I see my first lb of boost at 1600 rpm, full noise by 37/3800 and it makes power all the way to 8500. my stable mate Strik3r has a similar engine setup with the T04z and whilst he makes more top end its a farken lag monster to drive. I wouldnt mind betting the 35R actually makes better "average" power than the To4z.
  11. Good on you for getting it in Mercury but it really burns my arse knowing that the guys down south are paying just over a buck a litre for it at the bowser while the only way we can get it is via 200 litre drums. They make the shit in qld FFS!
  12. You're all lightweights.
  13. You're shopping at the wrong place Harry. any time you want feddy's in the rsr guise let me know. The feddy's are not the best semi on the market, Nor do they claim to be. they do offer outstanding value for money for those looking for one tyre to do it all. They are a competent track tyre and an outstanding street tyre for a high performance ride. The Khumo's are probably similar but from what i have seen the feddy will go a lot further than the khumo. I've run sub minute on qr sprint using the rsr and still get good mileage from them on a daily usage deal. The best they are not. The best value they most certainly are IMO.
  14. I would certainly bloody hope so.
  15. Stripping the sound deadening material and most of the interior for the roll cage next week. My superlap goal is getting closer.
  16. Does anyone know where we can actually get an entry form for this event?
  17. Light tune is a bit of an understatement dont you think. 160 something kw's as opposed just over 300 kw's in the ford. knock a couple of seconds off for the semi's and even that underpowered slug is still within a gnats cock of the ford. The skyline can be put together in that guise for around 10/12 kay including the purchase price of the vehicle. That leaves an awful lot of loose change to bring it up to the power to weight ratio of the Henry, Any way I look at this there is no value in the ford from a performance point of view. I am planning to be down at Wakie in the first 1/4 of this year in my lowly gtst, I hope there are some fords to play with.
  18. I realise only too well my car is missing a front drive shaft. One of the very reasons I purchased it actually. If you are referring to the 2 litre powered 32 with the plastic gearbox there may well be some merit in your argument but the much maligned 33 is an entirely different animal. With a bullet proof drive train and an rb 26 engine minus 40/50 cc's and one turbo plus a way better chassis than the 32 the whale is a brilliant platform for a modded rwd import. With minimal outlay on suspension upgrades it can be made the equal of most euro's and literally smash the arse off any locally made offerring. You can throw suspension mods at an Xr6 till the cows come home but nothing will overcome the fact that it weighs 1800 plus kilos on a chassis that isnt in the same league as even a 15 year old skyline number. Time at the track only bears out what I am saying, The local product can have shitloads of coin spent on it both in engine mods and the handling department but they always come up short against similarly specced imports both jap and euro awd and rwd.
  19. By the time we die of old age we should have this thing pegged.
  20. And another piece to the puzzle fits in, Always wondered why the car defaulted to single pegger when I did a brake lock burnout. Thanks mate.
  21. pretty tough call there joey wheelbarrow. If i thought for one minute a skyline was a shitbox I wouldnt own one. Sure some people turn them in to shit box's but they certainly dont begin life that way. Evo = lancer with a body kitand some incredible driving aids. 34 gtr is simply that. A skyline R34 gtr. Not a rehash of something else but a stand alone car in its own right. no dis to the evo. they are the new skyline as far as people buying import performance cars, but no evo can hold a candle to the looks of a wickedly setup GTR.
  22. now that is some funny shit Joshwaaa. When is the hyabusa engine going in.
  23. Question answered, it is a word. I hereby ban its use on these boards.
