  1. Well I will have to check work commitments before I can verify but if its doable I will come down. You guys will be responsible for keeping me warm tho.
  2. I was seriously hoping that wakie would be later in the year Stevo. Old bones are hard to warm up dude.
  3. Are you lot serious, Wakie in the middle of winter!! Thats brass monkey shit right there.
  4. I simply moved mine around the corner of the strut tower. I had to drill one extra hole and simple as that.
  5. I didnt say it would last, But yes, you can get it.
  6. FArken LOLZ, Youz crazy kidz!
  7. A. No. overhead cam engines can float valves with the best of them B. No they are not shit, Yes they do have an inherint problem with head gaskets. A set of head studs and a decent gasket and you have a motor as good as the 2j C.Mine came speed limited, Not rev limited D.yes
  8. Agreed, I believe I was at the limit of what that system could flow.

    Shell Petrol

It may well be fuel freshness, I am no expert on the fuel industry, I can only give the real world experience I had at that paticular time.

    Shell Petrol

Like most I use bp 98 exclusively but had to change to the shell 98 when i went to wakie for 3 days of track madness recently. the shell product never gave a hint of trouble and the plug colour was as good as ever it was with the bp. Will continue to use the bp as it is only a kay from where i live but would have no probs using the shell product when the need arises. A couple of years back when I was runing a pfc I did a holiday on the norhtern nsw coast. There waer 3 servos almost next door to each other so I filled up with 98 from bp, shell, and caltex on 3 different occasions and went cruising on much the same glorious roads each day. The caltex was the surprise, It gave lower knock readings and the car ran better on it. draw your own conclusions but if i had the caltex 98 more readily available I would use it more often.
  11. Agreed, I run 3 and 1/2 all the way and never found a restriction until I added a custom free flowing 3 inch rear muffler to try and quieten it down a tad. The resulting power loss saw it binned faster than you can blink. I then tried a flapper valve just before the cannon and got excactly the same power loss. 3 and 1/2 all the way for me.
  12. If none of the other suggestions come through then go to an Electrical supplies/wholesaler. The use it to make switch boardsnpanelsnshiz.
  13. Not yet! Theres still a few bits I want done.
  14. Thanks Daniel. the spacer can clearly be seen in the 2nd pic. It not only lengthens the runners but even at track working the engine hard I can put my hand on the plenum. Whatever its made of it is brilliant insulation material.
  15. You dont know what you're missing.
  16. From one grey beard to another I commend your ideal Terry, I too have often wondered what can be done to erase the "hoon" stigma so deeply etched into the paintwork of most imports. Oddly enough at recent qld gatherings I have been doing some quiet mental statistics in to the average age of those in attendance and I was surprised at the result. The average age is usally around the mid 30's which is hardly the stuff you see on ACA and other such useless pieces of viewing. The average clubbee is a fastidious, respectful car enthusiast fiercely proud of his or her skyline and generally aware of what bad behaviour can do to harm both themselves and the marque. This is not to say there are not hordes of younger groups driving imports and it may well be from these elements that the branding has emanated. Within the confines of my own suburb (very much middle working class) there are clowns who think nothing of stopping in the middle of an intersection just to cut a few hoops in broad daylight then drive off like nothing has happenned. (talk about shitting in your own nest) No organisation is ever going to be in a position to stop that kind of behaviour and as such there will always be that element for the media to feed on. The other major hurdle to overcome is the way practically every state government uses the traffic system as a milche cow. Until they can find another golden goose it remains quite the windfall for them to plunder motorists in an attempt to garner funds to shore up poor management on their own behalf. This in itself encourages them to feed the media with statistics and nonsense to justify the way they rort us. To further compound the problem the same state management teams do nothing to provide or promote venues for motoring enthusiasts, Quite the opposite. More venues close every year and are not replaced. If you have any ideas on how all of this can be reversed I am all ears Terry, Sadly I see no way out.
  17. I had a hellofatime Dunc. Wakie just rox and I practically had it to myself for 3 days, rb30 torque is a wonderful thing at a track like that.
  18. Back in banana land now. I did stay over a day just to meet with a few nsw liners. Good to hook up folks. I spent 3 solid days at the track just prior to you guys doing your thing, I must say, i am insanely jealous that wakie is down there and not next door to me. I burnt up over 200 litres of fuel, totally trashed a brand new set of RE 55's. My rib cage is still bruised because i left my harness at home. Diff is shagged, open wheeled for the 3 days, I reckon there is one solid black rubber mark the whole way around the circuit....In short, I had a freakin ball! Will definitely make an effort to grab a couple more northerners and try to join you for your annual track day. Cyall some day soon folks.
  19. As far as I know I'm comin lizzie. If theres a prob with payment let me know by text if you would please mate. currenty in sydney till tomozz then goneski back to goulburn. Sydney sux wang.
  20. The loss of midrange is an easy fix, I have istalled a 40 mil plenum spacer made by mace engineering to add runner length. it also has the added advantage of reducing intake temp. With the engine running hard on track i can put my hand on the plenum. A couple of minutes of heat soak after the engine is switched off tho and its too hot to touch, Both obviously good products, use what you prefer.
  21. all those credentials and you're still stupid enough to shove rope down a spark plug hole to lock up an engine. I'd ask for my training money back if I were you.
  22. dont underestimate the greddy. I have egt sensors in my exhaust manifold and the tuner was very impressed with the evenness of the temperatures across the cylinder range. That tells me I am getting a good even fuel distribution across all 6 pots. This is in no way a slight at the Plazmaman product, it may well do the same but i aint changing to find out.
