  1. A tune can cause this. Heavily retarded timing and shit loads of fuel will cause boost to go all over the place. As others have said, that is what antilag is. Mine is currently doing this because we have pulled the timing out of it. Not saying this is the OP's problem, but just stating it can happen.

  3. Yeah I don't run parkers for the same reason hahaha. Even had a cop test all my lights and he didn't say anything so meh.
  4. Righteo got a reply boys. They have been completed and are boxed up, just awaiting FedEX to pick them up. If they are not sent out this week we have been offered a £500 refund so it is safe to say they will get sent in the next couple of days. This nightmare is almost over! If the kits are wrong/missing parts/for a motorbike/don't fit/you get a Honda Accord kit etc than I am off to Mexico!
  5. Yeah do the parker thing. If you need to go over the pits or something dodgy some parkers up and then afterwards piss them off. Parkers are over rated.
  6. The difficulty about the series I and II conversion is due to it all being genuine parts and the series I and II have a different front bumper support assembly. So to do the convertion from one to the other, you have to change everything (bonnet, headlights, front bumper support, front bar and grille). However since the bumper you have posted is a generic aftermarket fibreglass item that doesn't have anything to do with the grill/headlights and isn't fitted to the car via specific mounts on the bumper support assembly I think it should fit your series II fine.

  15. Assuming you mean air/fuel ratios. Most people that don't have an upgraded fuel pump in their car are not going to have a wideband oxygen sensor and gauge either.
  16. Catch cans seem to be a very miss understood concept and I always seem to post a quick explanation. Can't for the love of me find my last explanation so i'll have to retype it damnit. There are two main ways to install a catch can (I say two main ways because there are slight variances in each). First way is the legal way. The reason it is the legal way is because you can not vent crank ventilation gases/oil into the atmosphere, it must be burnt through the engine and go through the vehicles exhaust system. Therefore the catch can must be in series with the engines current ventilation system. This method is more an oil/air seperator as the oily air goes through the catch can and then continues to go through the engine. This method you are trying to seperate as much of the oil from the air as you can before it continues on through the engine. This is why people say having a hollow empty can hooked up in this way does dick all. The oily air simply goes into the catch can and comes out the other side back into the engine. Therefore it aint doing much. What you want is the oily air to hit as much of a surface area as you can, hence the steel wool/stockings etc. An even better way is to have the exit of the catch can line higher then the entry so it has as much surface area of the steelwool to hit before it exits. This way has many variances to the way you hook it up but in essence it is the same. Oily vapour from engine goes into catch can, gets seperated, oil stays in catch can, air goes back through engine and is legal. The second way is the illegal way as you are venting to atmosphere. In this method you get rid of all the standard crankshaft ventilation gear and block off anything that could cause a vacuum leak. You now usually have two exit points on top of each camshaft cover and you run them into the catch can. This catch can must have an opening, such as a filter as you commonly see, as not to pressurise the crankcase and cause the dip stick to blow out. This method doesn't really require anything in the catch can (would help, but not necessary) as the oily air simply goes into the catch can and either stays in it or vents out through the catch can filter. You will commonly see old school V8s with filters sticking out the top of the tappet/rocker covers, this is the same thing really. The danger with this is if you get an excessive amount of blow by or if something goes wrong, the oil will shoot out and can easily go onto a hot exhaust manifold causing a fire, hence having a catch can is a lot smarter and safer. That is it in a nutshell, as you can see the illegal way is a hell of a lot easier, neater and does the job better since there is NO oily air going into the engine. This is the method most people use if the legality aint a big concern.
  17. Lol ummmm did you even read the link you just gave me It pretty much says exactly what I said and even the main heading is what I said "Aftermarket HID headlamps". So as I said, factory HID headlights that comply to regulations (pretty much every new car nowadays) are legal, even fitting a headlight from a vehicle that came with HID's is legal to do; hence people do projector retrofits. It is only illegal to fit HID's to cars that are not designed for HID's.

The problem with fuel pumps is if they go from working to failure instantly while driving around normally it's usually fine as the car will usually just stall on you or simply won't start as others have said. It's when they slowly begin to fail and it gradually leans out more and more due to a loss in fuel pressure or when you start giving the car a bit of a thrashing, that's when it can take an engine with it.

  22. HID's aren't illegal in Britain Fitting HID's to a car not designed for HID's is illegal, same as most places in the world.
  23. Yep just get it resprayed, I wouldn't bother with a new bumper unless you really wanted to.
  24. Start searching through the for sale section on this site if you want a genuine plastic replacement, they usually pop up every now and then when some one is wrecking a car.
