  1. I got told the head got minimum taken off it with turb stuff (what does that mean?) and wouldn't have been over 0.5mm. So you don't think it would be higher compression than 9.1:1? What about the compression test results of 170psi? I remember doing a compression test years ago and I thought I only had like 130-140psi. Like I said I will redo this compression test later on.
  2. A standard RB25 runs a head gasket thickness of 1.2mm and runs a CR of 9.1:1 Now when my head was off it got resurfaced and headwork got done to it (porting, polishing, valve seats cut etc). When we put it back on we used a genuine Nissan head gasket of 1.2mm. So from this, would the CR be that much higher than 9.1:1? Was it wrong to use a Nissan 1.2mm gasket due to the head resurfacing and a thicker one should have been used? My tuner thinks it is running higher compression as a compression test also came back with over 170psi per cylinder (a compression test will be redone to check this). Thanks
  3. You know that will lower compression slightly? I think going from 9.1:1 compression to around 8.6:1 compression.
  4. What brand of head gasket is it? Some don't require anything, but it doesn't hurt to put something on any way. Nissan actually recommend putting their Nissan gasket sealant onto their factory Nissan head gaskets but instead I used the Hylomar as it is easier to apply and from what I have heard one of the best things to use. Personally no matter what gasket it is (maybe there is some exceptions), I usually apply a sealant for that extra help.

  6. Ok first thing, head gasket. Don't bother replacing it, why would you?. If anything you want a stock headgasket since it can potentially save your engine by blowing the gasket first. For the stock fuel pump, realistically anything over a stock turbo it should be replaced. Hell even with it's given age it should be replaced. Read this thread regarding the stock fuel pump, few good explanations there: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Po...mp;hl=fuel+pump For the injectors people say different power levels since some qoute stock fuel pressure limits, others bump up the rail pressure to squeeze a bit out of them. As a rule of thumb, I think people see a high injector duty cycle around the 220-230rwkw mark. As I have said, some people say different things. But for your power goals you gotta change them anyway, so just go for something around the 740 mark if you are planning on over 300rwkw. Personally I wish I had gotten the Nismo 740s over the Nismo 555s for the extra head room. Fuel rail don't bother at the power levels we are talking other than if you wan't a nicer looking one. Now for the power goal, are you talking with the nitrous, or without? Because that is going to be a big difference in recommendations. In essence you have all the right ingredients all ready to go on the car, just comes down to turbo choice. Remember though, at the 300kw mark the RB25 bottom end is at a high risk of letting go.
  7. Yep don't use loctite, just use the ARP lube. Also for the headgasket I used ACL Hylomar spray to coat the gasket. Since it is an aerosol it's a piece of piss to cover the entire gasket easily.

  9. I can't believe im going to type this; I seriously have some bad karma or something hanging around me... The lines were at the FedEX depot after getting picked up from Hel, BUT FedEX realised Hel had not filled out the correct customs paperwork or some shit (You wouldn't think it would be possible for any more delays right?!). So now we have to wait until the correct paperwork is filled out until it gets sent. I sent them another email to see how long this is bloody going to take given it is now the end of the week. So the ETA of the 19th probably aint going to happen now. Will update you guys once I know what is going on. Realistically you redo the paperwork and we should have only lost a day or two max. I really must have pissed some one off upstairs for all this shit to be happening.
  10. I'm very curious to see how the interior works out, make sure you post plenty of pics. As others have said, it is a "different" project, but from reading your explanation I see where you are coming from and if your happy with it, that is the main thing, so go ahead. Either way it will be very unique As you have said, don't mold the sideskirts to the rear gaurds. It looks gay and most of the time will end up cracking if you are going to drive the car hard.

  15. The gaskets will be fine, they are rubber and given the age of your car will still be fine. As has been said, retighten all the bolts holding the camshaft covers on. With heat they tend to loosen a bit over time.

  17. GOOD NEWS! THEY HAVE FINALLY BEEN SENT!! Got the tracking number in an email today so now we just have to wait. Their ETA of 2-3 days with FedEX seems a bit out considering the tracking number says ETA 19th but meh, atleast they are finally coming! Now fingers crossed there is no problems in customs. I told them to send them in three seperate boxes so each one has a value under $1000 so we'll see what happens.
