  2. Hmm strange. One heat range shouldn't make much of a difference, if anything i would have thought the car would run worse on the colder "7" heat range plugs. If it's missfiring on the new plugs i would say its time to get some new coilpacks. As for the colour, its a bit hard to see in the pics, but a greyish/white end on the plug normally means it is running fine.

  4. Lol sounds like that seinfeld episode I get about 300-350km around town. Taking her out on a big trip up to Cairns soon so ill see how good she is on the highway. Around town on and off boost constantly is a joke for fuel consumption.

Can a turbo be turned off........... *sigh* The profec B is an electronic boost controller, it allows you to alter the air pressure signal to the actuator on the turbo to trick it into keeping the wastegate closed for longer, which in essence increases boost pressure. All boost controllers allow you to INCREASE boost pressure. You cannot go lower than the factory boost pressure on the standard actuator/wastegate setup, which is like 7psi. What are you trying to do?
  6. Lol how dare you call my ECU a hyundai! Seriously though, im struggling to understand what you are all on about the microtech being such a bad ECU for a daily driven car. Mine is absolutely fine!! Who are you getting to tune these microtechs! Or are you talking about the older models or something? Just yeah no idea what the whole "needing to retune them", "car running rough" etc etc..... Fair enough it's obviously not the best ECU, but for a street driven car, it does the job. Just because you guys might tune them and go on about some technical crap about the features in mapping or something, most people wouldn't know the difference anyway so what does it matter other then to the person that's actually tuning it?

  10. Is there an alarm in the car? Some alarms have a turbo timer featured into them aswell. As far as R33's having a factory turbo timer, that's a new one for me

  16. My mates R32 RB26 just let go number 6 cylinder, burning oil through the exhaust (lots of white/blue smoke) and after he did a comrpession test number 6 is down to 35psi. Car was only making 230rwkw, so when it comes to "what power will it let go on", very hard to say due to the abuse the engine gets. Looking into what caused the failure in number 6, hopefully will talk to him tonight, but my bet is oil starvation and a failure in the ringlands.
  17. Yeah man 400km is good around town lol. As said above, its not essential, ie. on a stock ECU the car would run like crap without the 02, microtech isn't effected as badly.
  18. Like its been said a million times before, its not boost pressure you need to worry about, its the power it makes on that boost pressure, AFR's and knock. Boost pressure on its own means jack when it comes to "safe pressure". 20psi on a T25 is a lot different to 20psi on a T04Z, its relative to the amount of airflow it is pushing and therfore the corresponding power it makes. Run it on 20psi, see what power it makes on the dyno, watch the AFR's and make sure its not running dangerously lean, make sure your fuel system isn't struggling to keep up and make sure it doesn't knock. Simple as that. Knock, heat and excessive rev's kill a motor, not boost pressure. End of rant.

  20. Pfftt nothing wrong with the Microtech. Mines a daily driver, takes me to uni and work every day and it drives just like stock. No idea what the hell uz are on about.

  23. Yep it was a factory option, just like the ALSD off of the GTR. So quite likely it didnt have one.
