  1. What is done to the car? Does it have a cat?
  2. I have posted this picture up before, but the glass can be done. This is the only car I have EVER seen done with a glass front indicator:
  3. What coilpacks are in your car now? If you are simply replacing 15 year old Nissan coilpacks with second hand 15 year old Nissan coilpacks then obviously you will still have problems. Brand new Nissan coilpacks are the best you can get however quite dear. Hence why every one goes Splitfire coilpacks. Everything else made in Taiwan or China is obviously not going to be as good quality. Hence the price being so much cheaper. If you are still having missfire problems even on brand new coilpacks then the issue lies elsewhere.
  4. Yeah the antenna is a joke. Reminds of a remote control car with those massive antennas sticking out of them lol.
  5. I just fitted mine and it doesn't move 1mm. So not sure why yours does.
  6. Fair enough. Yeah I don't listen to the radio because I hate having the antenna sticking 1.5m up in the air lol. So I disconnected it and one day will shave it off.
  7. Would involve cutting a hole in the roof though. Seems like a lot of dicking around for what it is worth. I don't even use my antenna, have it disconnected lol. MP3s yo!
  8. What two bushes did you get? One of those bushes slides over the metal so it fits snug into the V Spec II accelerator pedal.
  9. Yeah most of the tuning is done on it. I havn't really seen his thread (got a link?). Will probably go out one more time and it will pretty much be done. A tuning course would be great just to learn all the little tricks that you can't really pick up on by yourself. Like for example getting a car with a Power FC to idle properly seems near impossible. There is simply bugger all settings for idle and it may be perfect one day but then crap the next. Also I find the hardest thing about tuning a car is not the actual tuning itself, but the damn troubleshooting of a problem. I completely understand why workshops love tuning brand new Holden and Fords. All the parts are brand new and there is simply nothing wrong with the car. With 15-20 year old cars, gone through 4 different owners with parts ripped off here and there just leads to so many problems that take ages to narrowdown. I will get a kmon eventually because I want to hard wire it into my car so it pulls timing upon detonation. Would be good to use on Power FCs aswell because I don't really trust those factory knock sensors. Havn't used Nistune yet. But I hadn't used a Power FC until two weeks ago and picked that up fairly quickly so don't see why Nistune would be any harder.
  10. If your tuner wants the Vipec then go for it. Fantastic ECU and you will not be dissapointed. Don't worry about half the stuff you listed that you want to do. Get the injectors and ECU done first.
  11. Boost pressure has nothing to do with "safe limits" on an engine. 10psi from a T28 is a lot different to 10psi from a T88. As has been said, the only reason people refer to safe limits of boost pressure is on the stock turbo. Your HKS actuator on the GTRS is a 1bar item so the minimum it will run is 1bar. They run out of puff at around 19-22psi dependent on engine. But +1 on what ECU are you running? Please don't say stock.
  12. On the BMWs it is an aerial. That one posted on ebay isn't though.
  13. They are a day behind us so will hopefully get an email back tonight.
  14. Hmmm I wouldn't put one on a non BMW.
  15. With good tyres, perfect launch and a clean run mid to high 13s are doable.
  16. Nah not tonight. Finished off most of Pav's S15 last night. Just going to go over the whole tune one more time to make sure everything is safe. Then I can grab the wideband for my car and finish it off.
  17. But is the Knockblock as good as the Kmon? Also I believe it is more than what the Kmon is worth now due to the good USD-AUD. I can't really find any proper reviews of the Knockblock. Ideally I would like to see the main differences between the Kmon and the Knockblock so I can choose for myself which one is the better option. My friend has a Kmon that I have had a look at and he is very happy with it. He's using it with a Vipec aswell. Yep. So basically it comes down to a Knockblock or a Kmon. But just wanted to make sure there was nothing else out that I wasn't aware of.
  18. Bit of a thread bump. Given that it is now a few years on, I wanted to see if the Kmon is still the best choice for aftermarket knock detection? They have come down in price now given the good Aussie dollar at around $700-$750 delivered so am really considering buying one. I basically want something easy to use that can also be wired into the Vipec in closed loop so I can have it start pulling timing when high detonation occurs. So what's the go these days? Still go the Kmon?
  19. Yeah I know what you mean. I find them to big aswell. But I don't think they do anything along those lines since they just use a stock wheel and do the carbon/leather onto it. I'll ask them plenty of questions as soon as they respond to my email.
  20. Bump Need these gone.
  21. Might go. Last one was a bit boring though.
  22. Nothing planned for the time being. Got to many things on at the moment.
  23. Yep definetely swap the rear mail seal while it is out. I did my clutch about three years ago and didn't do it and am now kicking myself beause my rear main seal is weaping oil and I SO don't won't to take the box out again
