  1. I read this in another thread and thought it was a good idea... It worked, the water leakage stopped, but the extra hole wasting water was annoying me, so I used the same concept, but instead of having a little hole, I put in a T piece in with a piece tube running to a hole in the top of the water bottle. This meant that air was still able to be introduced into the line to prevent siphoning, but water wasn't sprayed in a useless spot. The problem with this was that the tube running back to the water bottle was flowing too much water and significantly decreasing the flow. To fix this I put a screw into the end of the tube poking into the water bottle. I screwed it in about 85%-90% of the way so that it didn't make the tube airtight. Pressure increased considerably to a suitable level. No extra useless spray. No wasted water. Another thing I found handy for installation on a SMIC (probably could be adapted to FMIC too), was too use these rigid pipes that you can buy in the gardening section of bunnings. They are supposed to be for standing up out of the ground for those little irrigation systems. They are the same size as the windscreen washer hose and have an adapter on one end to go into the hose. The other end is the right size for one of the little mist sprayer things to screw in. They only cost 50cents. I mounted these through little eylet screws I put in the vent on the front bar, facing in towards the intercooler. You can adjust the height that they spray by screwing the eyelet up or down. I get very good coverage like this.
  2. I work around that area, so I went past the adress you mentioned. It isn't a shop. Just a house.
  3. spotted a tidy black r33 a bit past 7 this morning on the intersection of Newbridge road and Heathcote road near liverpool. CI 1905. Nice clean car.
  4. one other thing... How long will the cable be? long enough to reach the passenger seat?
  5. Yeah, the laptop is one of those sony vaio ones and it doesn't have many places to plug stuff in. I think USB may be the only option, but I'll double check tonight when I get home. Definitely keen. Heaps cheaper than buying even one of the gauges that it can show.
  6. Just have to double check that i have the consult port, ('93 r33 gtst should have it right?) If so then definitely interested in one with USB.
  7. Thats gotta be the eleventyth time I've been directed to that image from this forum
  8. lol, you must've been pretty smashed if you could see the plates but not the colour of the car. Nice one
  9. Wouldn't bother arguing about it being 7ks over the speed limiter. The speed limiter even on a stock car doesn't kick in till about 190ish. When the needle on the speedo points directly down (that'd be about 190 right?) [tested that on a private road]. 187 could be right on the limiter. I'l be interested to hear what ends up coming of this...
  10. This is true. The other day I wanted to leave the windows down while it was in the driveway because I had just put the repainted dash back in and it smelt a bit of paint. It wouldn't let me. It's either windows down and unlocked or locked with the windows up. But only that one time have I wanted the windows down and alarm on.
  11. Some of the new saabs have a similar thing too, but with a chunky keylike thing. I think my old mirage had some sort of chip in the key that allowed the car to be started (i.e. if you got a key cut without ordering a blank form mitsubishi, it would unlock the car but wouldn't start it). Sounds like a cool idea to have a card thing though. How much does it cost?
  12. I kept track of my fuel consumption over a few months and have ended up with a range betweeen 13.3 and 15.21 L per 100ks. Most tanks would work out to be around the high 13 to low 14 mark. That is driving half highway half off peak city. I could probably drive a little more conservatively if I tried though. With that boost solenoid mod switched on all the time, fuel consumption is more around 15L per 100ks. p.s. thats a s1 r33 gtst with no mods other than a k&N panel filter. What does say a v8 ss commodore get? (not what holden claims, how many L per 100ks in real life?) I heard it was much higher, like 17 or 18L/100km, but I don't know how true that is...
  13. hey man, don't knock his driver ability! You would have to have great throttle control to be able to get that blistering 96.5Kw to the ground without losing traction in every gear and shredding through tyres. :laughing-smiley-014:
  14. I may be interested in the 255 40 17's depending on price.
  15. I have them and I love them. They are not really necessarry, but it is great to just stop the car, get out and walk away whilst the windows wind themselves up. looks ultra cool (well I tell myself that it does. lol)
  16. compare some stock gtr and gtt matts. I'd imagine that they are the same or very similar.
  17. I guess it depends on the reason you installed a pod filter to begin with. If the reason for adding a pod filter was to add power, then I'd say it would be worth having cai. Sure, it may only add a few hp, but the 100 odd dollars spent on the pod filter would only produce a few extra hp anyway. So I guess if you think it is worthwile installing a pod filter to increase hp, you may aswell do it right and have cai. If the reason for installing a pod filter is to have a louder induction noise, then I guess cai may be seen as a waste of time. In my opinion, if the reason behind performing a modification is purely to increase the noise that the engine emmits and not to increase power, it is a bit of a wank and is just drawing unnecessary attention to the vehicle without any gain. But some people just like that sort of thing I guess.
  18. Perhaps you were racing them, but they weren't racing you.... something to think about
  19. I am about to make a sprayer setup, and was considering the above idea today whilst I was getting all the parts together. Not being an electronics expert, I was concerned that the pumps may draw too much current from the ground in the computer. Does a relay need to be used? (if so, anyone care to explain how to make the relay? ) or can I just use that computer controlled ground as the ground for the pump?
  20. how do they control the speed? i.e. what are they connected to?
  21. If you use an EBC, the standard 2 stage boost is no longer utilized. The mod in the diy section is very easy and makes a bit of a difference. the car feels stronger and petrol consumption increases (in my car) by about 1 litre per 100ks.
  22. I think a fair few people have used that method mate. It's been mentioned numerous times throughout the thread. another +1 for this being an easy effective mod.
  23. Pick and payless do charge you to get in, but it is only 2 bucks. Probably to make up for all the parts people steal, or break trying to get the bit they want, want off.
