  1. Struttos on the money here - the 6x9's won't be great so the 4's or coaxs would be the go. Personal preference - I have always liked rear fill but usually it only accounts for about 10-20% of what I hear in the front. When there's someone in the back I up it a little so they don't just get bass'ed out (don't have sub in cefiro at the moment so no worries there). At the moment my setup consists of a 4x60wrms (or so) pioneer gmx-414 amp powering 2 focal kvp2 6.5" splits up front. The stock 6x9's are crap but are currently powered by the 7450 pioneer head unit for tiny amount of rear fill. When I get off my fat ass I'll be ripping the stockies out and putting in some el-cheapo 6.5" phillips drivers in the back which came from a splits set but won't have the tweeters (one was crushed in the a piller so bugger it) and they will be running from the amp. Can't afford my amp+sub yet but I'd like it to be a 1.400 audison + ID max 12" of some sort..... heh still don't have 1-1.5k for amp+sub so I think this may be in a year or two Good luck tho davo - nice avatar btw.
  2. spotted yesterday ZZR-033 or something like that. CAMS circuit stickers, skylines australia sticker on the back and some apexi stuff mounted on the dash. Followed it from Roseville bridge to Chatswood-ish... Nice and quiet zorst.
  3. Just learn to leave tracks anyways good luck lockin it gettin a new one O_o PS. check your tyre pressure
  4. Sure it is - ask the commo boys it smokes it up full sick!
  5. What is the size of r33 wheels? 17x7 ? If sale falls through I'd be interested.
  6. black with red calipers *drool*
  7. Sorry guys my trouble isn't so much normal in cabin drone.. it's more-so the drone because it's too loud Thanks guys - I'll try fitting a kaki muffler only first then if that doesn't work I'll put in a larger well flow middle muffler and leave the cannon on the end. Bugger - was hoping to get away with quietining it for around $200...
  8. Well - the cover can look the same but inside is what counts
  9. *shrug* not sure but either mines mounted much higher or is obscured a bit by the sway bar.
  10. Lmfao - surelly they're joking Question is - why were you searching these things ?
  11. Any tips for my situation or general theory advice S-Kid? I have a sr20 with standard exi-mani, tomei style dump pipe, 3" to a crappy looking cat then 3" all the way to a xforce 3" with (guessing) 5" tip. Currently too loud, probably flows crap, looking to change the cat and get some sort of quieter muffler. Still haven't experimented taking my flatmate's kakimoto from his r32 to put on to see if it's quieter but I'm expecting it would be.
  12. Ohhh I get it. Thanks - sounds like something to tack onto my list of things to attempt one day Thanks S-Kid.
  13. b....ump? xmas is coming up and i was hoping to fix my flatmate's r32 AMB button for xmas
  14. Thanks guys - sounds no middle muffler and a good quality rear muffler will flow better then a cannon with a middle muffler yeah? If so I'll look at a HKS super dragger because I've heard their quiet yet they still have the cannon look (which will fit my car's rear skirt.. I'm worried a normal muffler won't sit out far enough.) The other alternative is a really good centre muffler and a straight through from there. My question is (newb question) why do cars have a centre muffler and a rear muffler? If one can do the job wouldn't it be cheaper to produce one that would do the job? - I don't understand why people have 2 when I assume it would cause more restriction (or is it negligible?) Finally if cannons don't flow better why the hell do people use them? (to be loud?)
  15. Thanks SKid that does help - I understand now. That's what the scoop in the air deflector does. Fair enough - What's the air deflector do? (heh I sound like Ralph). Is it to deflect the heated air from the radiator/engine away from the inlet to the air filter?
  16. I'd be interested to know this as well as I'm going to be looking to get my sr20 box rebuilt in the new year... 97r33gtst-whowa-typeM I've thought about it as well and I think you're right. Plus while you get it recond you can ask them how much power it's good for and you know you could pretty much eat of it. When I got my v8 box redone it felt good when I got it back
  17. things that go _____________________________________________ (in the night)...
  18. How many of you guys run it without a resonator/middle muffler ? Just dump pipe - front pipe - cat - pipe - super dragger ? For those that do - do you think it's legal? does it drone? loud?
  19. Personally I like the kaki sound so i'd go kakimoto but apperantly they're not the best flowing ones out there *shrug*
  20. Perhaps check the actual tubing? I've never had an EBC but I thought there was some issue there if you didn't mount it close enough to something else it would spike up? Also it may be worth testing the actual solenoid - now I'm not sure how much current it's expecting (i would imagine 12v) but if you're mechanically/electronically minded you could always try to set off the solenoid itself with an electrical feed like a battery - just to see if it clicks over. If it doesn't solenoid is busted. *insert disclaimer here: never owned an ebc could be totally in the wrong*
  21. No idea about that mine flutters occasionally ever so slightly (when idling)- do you get that as well?
  22. i dont think this is a very easy off-the-shelf product (if it even exists off-the-shelf) as most people will drill their screws to mount their gauges there. if you really wanted to you could buy the gauge cups or holders and screw them into the plastic around your wheel or fabricate/get fabricated your own little round middle thing.
  23. I think you'll find difference people have difference experiences with their cars also... but all things being equal I see things like this- the wrx is a great beginner car (not saying wrx drivers are all beginners but it is a car I'd buy for my mum). the gtr is a car that is not as fool-proof - it will bite back if pushed too hard and I think needs to be treated like a RWD (compared to the wrx). Mind you i've never driven a gtr and I haven't driven a rex in anger so I could just be talking crap - it's just always seemed like that to me Good luck.
