  1. thanks l0WRB for ur pictures, i have read the D.I.Y guide to it and think it is pretty well written however, the pcitures ain't coming up for me and i think pictures tell 1000 words, if u know what i mean. however urs looks good, did u have any issues etc with the install. what parts and peices did u have to buy and who did the pipe for ur fmic? had any problems with it yet?

Hey there guys, i know there is alot of controvery surronding the greddy-style (ebay) plenums, i have done some reading on previous topics, but no one actually flow tested one or showed pics after the install. I was just wondering if people could post up some pics of the install with one of these plenum's on, and possbile let me know wat to look out for when installing it. Mine arrived 2 days ago and doesn't look to be a bad product as described by other people. There was some small burs on the welds which i intend to file down n smooth out. Looks to me as the standard throttle body can be bolted stright up to this plenum, however i have read that a throttle body adaptor was needed in some cases. i am just wanting to know some of the pro's and con's bout this product and what to look out for when installing it. Is there any peices i need to buy e.g brass nipples etc or is it possible to hybridize them with the factory plenum. I will keep this thread going though the install process to let people know how i go. cheers hamish.
  3. totally agree, why would nissan do that to the australians and oz spec 35GTR..just doesnt sound right, however if they do de-tune the engines and downgrade parts i sure we'll just be re-tuning and upgrading anyhow, so why not save us time and money
  4. possibly clean the afm (air flow metre) with contact cleaner and other sensors..
  5. PM SENT - however with ur idel problem are u running a atmos b.o.v as this will cause stalling problems at low rpm. The creaking etc will be worn bushes in the suspension components.

  7. yeah it is the same as the rb25 guide, when i use to have my DE engine it was easy as but the det engine there is alot of stuff u need ot take off. but nothing to hard.

  10. does spound like it is not opening fulling forcing the boosted air thru the turbo causing a flutter.
  11. looking from the front of the car the ACC valve is on the left hand rocker cover under the induction pipe connecting to intake manifold. correct?
  12. Depending on budjet, i;d be saying get a boost controller whether it a manual stage 1 bleed valve of an EBC (electronic boost controller) this will up the boost, as you already have pod, exaust, FMIC? this should be getting closer!!

  16. yeaha dun need the factor boost gauge, anyhow, i have a cluster here in my garage i think, a mate of mine in his fto has the same problem, thing is it hard to find second hand fto parts..

To original poster, it think this is an awsome idea and definatly original, with a donor car i think u will be able to pull the conversion off nicely, it'll be a hard job, but nothing common sense can't get you through with some professional guidence! gl with it, hame!

  20. dw guys, i just finised bolting on the original squeely alternator, kick started in 2nd gear and she is now charged back to 13.9voltz which is great! and the old alternator is not squeeling!!! well for now anyhow..

Yeah cheers man, i have an old atlernator hre (it squeels a bit, think bearings are gone) however it did work..so i'll bolt that on today and if that doesn't work i'll try charge the battery again. (Who can do that for me?) if that is no good it either is drained from a source or it is time for a new battery.
  22. Hey there deren, was nice to catch up, how is she coming along now? This project looks great on here but even better in the flesh can't wait to see her back on the road! Get the Tomei ones, it won't let you down too much, however i sure we''ll all keep our eyes out for CES pipes for you.
  23. mine also seems to start slow but at the moment, has gone flat!? i have an apexi full auto timer which has my battery reading at 10.4 which is way low! I have put another alternator on the car i was thinking this may be the problem? SHould i have my battery charged/buy a new one? What else could it be?
