Congrats Ray! I was there, 2nd car to be put on the dyno. I got 145.5kWs with my car. Not much in comparison to the top 3, but considering I was expecting 130-140 I was very happy . Would of stuck around but I had a party to attend, and my dyno sheet to show off

Saw a black or dark blue Stagea at lunch today in Warriewood. Looked kinda like this... At first I thought it was a Volvo, but them I thought to myslef, "those rims would look ok on my car, and they even have Nissan on them" I expected to look at a Murano badge or something, but it had Stagea instead Don't tell my that the Stagea is going all G35/V35/350Z on us

When I first inspected my current R33 it had all its Japanese registration (or at least, what I thought where... they are circley right?) and various other random stickers on it. Come the day I drive it home, all those stickers are gone... all but one, which says "Prince Shizuoka" like in the piccy... Does this mean anything special? A quick google search revealed that Shizuoka seems to be a place, like a town or suburb. Prince I know was the name of the first Skyline, but the sticker doesn't look quite that old lol. Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated, for I'm a little tired of just saying "I don't know" when people ask what it is

Funnily enough, I didn't mean that. I always thought it would be funny to put a RB26 or a 2JZ in an old Volvo Station Wagon. I mean imagine being completely smoked off the lights in one of those :laughing-smiley-014: However, that Stagea would still be a big upgrade from what I currently have IMO. Black Stagea = Japanese hurse, and a damn quick one too

Its got 4WD damnit, its, like, made for dirt roads right? Like them WRXs and Evos and LandCruisers Very nice. I know what I would buy after I win at least $20k and sell my GTS-t. A Volvo 240GL Station Wagon with a RB26DETT conversion R33 GT-R

So if I go to the RTA tomorrow and get my full licence that will make me a better driver? lol I wouldn't be a "stupid P plater" anymore would I, and the only experience I would have gained is another day in my life. Aside from the P plater argument, he was an idiot and probably would of caused the same accident in an econobox. Assuming the Telegraph isn't exagerating, firstly he was on his Ps in NSW with a blood alcohol level of over 0.0000, definition would be infinitely over the legal limit. Secondly, he either tried to defy physics and go around a corner to quickly, or was simply doing stupid shit, resulting in hitting someone and a parked car. Thirdly, he tried to run, literally run away from the crash/hit and run, as well as some police dogs. Ask yourself if these actions should result in a whole agrument on P plater bashing or performance car banning One thing I find funny though... "We've been asking for speed humps or traffic lights for years because these guys just use this place like a speedway,'' Surrey Ave resident Ali Derbus said. Got happy fun time obsticle course?

Saw a R33 and a R32 leaving Terrey Hills Tavern tonight, as well hearing them taking off up Mona Vale Road. I'd be lying if I said I didn'd take off from there like that

Sorry, my lunch break isn't long enough to drive from Warriewood and back to help out. I know, I know. I'm weak as piss and don't want to get my hair dirty... the offer of moisturiser does make it tempting though... I'm running low :laughing-smiley-014:

I'll go, not expecting to win any prizes in my stocker though

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
Cassbo replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
When I bought my Skyline they came with Bridgestone Potenza GIIIs 235/45/ZR17 on the front and 255/40/ZR17 on the rear (is it normal to have higher profile tyres on the front... ). Being the first tyres on the car I have no means to make a comparison but my experience with them is so far good. So far I've experiensed no under-steer. My last 2 cars where front wheel drive (one being a V6 Magna... king of torque/under-steer...) and my first one had crap, nearly bald, cheese cutter budget tyres whith boat spec extreme suspension... under-steer was a part of driving. Even more so in the wet. Oversteer only happens when I expect it to, ie power through a corner in the wet. The car is completely stock and the only real problem grip wise is when its raining moderately heavily and I stomp real hard on the accelerator in 1st and sometimes 2nd, the rear end tends to wonder a little, reminding me I'm a tool and I should back off Other than that they stick fairly well. I haven't tried a red-line launch yet, as the idea just seems stupid, obviously its going to loose traction... right? On a drive last week, headed around a corner at a speed I probably should of tried it at (I was following some purple R33 GT-R ) my front tyres made a lot of noise during the turn. Was fairly un-expected. The out-side edges seem to be feathering a little, which I'm guessing under-inflated or some camber issue. Possibly also due to driving like a tool like I said above... On bumpy roads they tend to send the shock straight to the passengers though. On really bad roads the steering wheel tugs in the direction of the bumps I hit, but this was only on road in between Dunedoo and Gilgandra where crap roads are the norm. I think my next set of tyres might be Toyo T1R's, they seem to get a pretty good rap -
It has a Chev' badge on the front, go Aussie pride lol I have to say, the owner seems to have put alot of time/effort/money on the car. Wasted in my opinion, I think Skylines are everything V8s aren't. Quiet, subtle, modern and with a little less bogan spec. Not to say it won't hammer, 6.5L is a little on the largish scale. Got to laugh at the X-Box in it though, spend all that money and decide the 360 is too much :laughing-smiley-014: . But let for a second imagine he gets it all set up, running and decides to keep it. He says he wanted to build it for street/strip, so I imagine he wants to drive it on the road. Would you be brave enough to drive it around without insurance for fear of the "LOOK AT ME!!!" that it will send out to police and thieves alike, not to mention the everyday idiot on the road? Would you be able to afford the insurance? Would you be even able to GET insurance? At least it doesn't have chromes, although I think it may be a matter of time...

Saw a grey or black R32 GT-R at 3AM Sat behind Ultimo TAFE, parked behind my mate's FTO.

You don't want to let a belt squeel for too long. Squeel leads to wear, wear leads to snap. With that snap: the fan doesn't work, leading to one oven of an engine bay and the altenator stops putting charge into the battery, which means that your car will only run for as long as your battery does. Either way, not fun. In my R31 I did this and it snapped, luckily in winter, unluckily at night. Put a nice gash in my radiator, which in turn shat itself about 3 months later, along with the water pump... then I bought redonditioned parts, the "reconditioned" water pump leaked just as good as the one that I was replacing. So I had to do it again! All I have to say is I can replace a water pump on a RB30 rather quickly now Also, I wouldn't suggest using WD-40, or any kind of oily kind of substance on your belts. I don't know if it would cause it to eat at the belt, but to make myself sleep better at night I don't put anything on them.

Here is how I display my plates... Yep, my car is dirty I've been followed by the law a few times with them displayed like this and haven't been pulled over once. Wouldn't have a clue if it would conform to whatever rules they may have in place but they seem to work as they are. I just use the existing holes in the number plates and the P plates and blot the together using a M4 x 10mm bolt. Tight fit but does the job. The only reason I do this is because I used to use those static stick on ones you put in the window, that in the previously mentioned letter was explained wasn't good enough... so I bolted the P plates to my number plates of my Subaru, the front number plate tucked somewhat conviniently under the front bumper. I figure if they can't see my Ps, they can't see my number plate either . Then I got the Skyline and decided to do the same thing Have to say though, I was once told by a police person at school that magnetic plates where the best option, but if an officer on a bad day is going to book you for that, I don't think its worth the grief...

GT-R? Completely agree with you, although the RTA web site is a pain to navagate through I just thought if you made such a significant change to a car, you would be required to tell the RTA, thus making the car legal to drive as long as you don't have any performance enhancing mods on the car. Still don't see the point as there are already standard naturally aspirated Skylines out there that are completely legal for a P plater to drive. How I wish this was true... This is the list of cars that are 6 cylinder and P platers can't drive - Linky 2002 PORSCHE BOXSTER - 1260kg to 162kW - Banned 2003 MAZDA RX-8 - 1337kg to 177kW - Legal I really want to slap the person who came up with that list... I can't find any logical way of how RX-8s aren't on the list or Porche Boxsters are off the list. Perhaps Porsches do better burn outs...

When I was looking at Skylines I was advised to buy a GTS-t instead of a GTS because making a GTS turbo charged is more expensive than buying the GTS-t in the first place... But your buying a GTS-t and pracrically making it a GTS. I think the money spend on such a procedure would be a huge waste. Besides, you can buy a GTS and put GTS-t, or even GT-R badges on it, in effect they do the same thing. But to your question, would it be legal? In my opinion yes, but only you jump through a whole bunch of hurdles that will make your wish you just stuck with a car that is legal for you to drive as standard. What I would do in your position (and I say this under the assumption that you recently got your Ps and are in the market for a car) is buy a car that is reliable and reletively cheap to run, start saving some cash and who knows? By the time you get off your Ps you might be able to get something better than a GTS-t

You'd think that. My first car was a 31, its the P plate that does it :laughing-smiley-014:

What Is A Toyota Porte R ?
Cassbo replied to West's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Just because it doesn't have a turbo doesn't make it never have a turbo At first glance I thought Mitsubishi Delica with a Toyota badge. No closer look it looks like a luxury econo-box on steroids -
I'm interested, but is there much point of putting a stock car on a dyno? lol

5 weeks down on my Skyline and the only "off roading" it has done was through some road works making it nice and dirty My Skyline was off the road from a week in between I paid the deposit and paid for the rest of the car, needed complaince, blue slip, rego ect... But none of these count now do they

Last night a R32 scared the crap out of me on Forest Way. I heard a turbo significantly louder than mine and thought it was my car, doing something wrong
