  1. I like that "I fired a warning shot officer and he came at me so I had to shoot him" hahaha
  2. Thats true. Top lulz if Tracy Grimshaw came on here trolling for hoons although I dont think they would bother on SAU plenty more hoons on CalaisTurbo or BoostCrusing.
  3. A VN commodore or EA Falcon would both come at or under 1400kg and both have 120-130kw probably 130-140kw with exhaust and a CAI. So gearing them up as drag machines would work well for the 0-100 sprint. As far as them being good quarter mile warriors, I dont think so, with those sorts of gear ratios one would imagine they would be topping out quite early.
  4. I think they do have the tasers, but would you want to get within the 10m or less to hit him with it?. I wouldnt risk my life for some scum bag with a gun just to bring him down with non lethal force, I dont think any of us on here honestly would and quite frankly I dont expect the police to either.
  5. LOL all too true. How the judges dont throw the book at real criminals and only at motorists we will never know.
  6. Track Editor!! I have heard rumours about a track editor since GT2 its nice to see that 10 years later they are coming true. This game sounds more awesome by the day, I cant wait to get my hands on it
  7. Article The Police Federation of Australia, the nation's police union, is pushing for the Federal Government to consider enforcing national standards for licensing. The organisation's CEO, Mark Burgess, said that such a system could include standards for Learner and Probationary drivers, creating a system that would see young drivers taught the same rules across the country. "The problem with all this is I think each government thinks it's got the best system," Mr Burgess told the ABC. "All we're saying is it really requires in our view, all the governments - state, territory and federal - to sit around the table and come up with a consistent position with all of these issues." Mr Burgess did not offer any comment on how a standardised national system would deal with the varying road rules in each state. Police are also pushing for incentives for young drivers to undertake advanced or defensive driver training courses, including early graduation from Probationary status to a full licence. "By giving them an incentive, by saying for example that if you undertook these sort of training and education programs we might limit the amount of time you are on a provisional licence for example," he said. Mr Burgess said that the push behind the proposal is to motivate young adults to drive more safely, knowing that there are specific rewards for their 'good behaviour'. The proposal is understood to have gained government support, with federal and state representatives expected to convene this week to consider the plan. According to figures from the NSW Traffic Services office, the period between 2007 and 2009 saw 50 fatal accidents in the state that involved Probationary drivers. In 45 cases - 90 percent - the P-plate driver was found to be responsible. All great ideas but alas its not going to happen, the states will never work together on something like this because that would mean one or more them would have to admit their probationary license scheme is wrong or at the least not the best. Raise your hand if you think its not going happen. *raises hand*
  8. Probably, I fixed my 360 from late 07 just recently and *touch wood* its still going strong. I think it just depends on the mood of who ever put it together and the parts at the time. My 07 360 works fine and feels reasonable well put together, but my late 09 Xbox is made with a tin opener and has E74'd itself to death. My girlfriends brothers 05 Xbox worked with the fix for about a year before the DVD drive died and he sold it. So I think it just depends on the exact reason thats beind the E74 or RROD.
  9. +1 I know many a person who has outrun the highway patrol, the have rules as to how fast they are allowed to go in pursuit of a vehicle, a crim doesnt. You can drive at 200km/h+ and unless they are lucky and have backup further up the road or a chopper close by you'll be gone and out of sight in under 90 seconds at flat chat.
  10. + 1 its all about the gear ratio's, falcons and commodores are designed to have longer gears so therefore more economy especially in their top gear so accelerating from in 5th gear would be a painfully long experience. Clarkson showed a perfectly example albeit with a turbo car when he raced in 5th or 6th gear a Skoda Octavia diesel vs a EVO 8 or 9 over a mile long race and the EVO got killed.
  11. True, but you'd think they would have someone with a sniper rifle capable of at least hitting him in the shoulder. To be quite honest I dont really care if he ends up dead, its one less criminal to worry about, although that would mean inquest after commision after inquest into the usage of firearms by police and who knows what idiotic conclusion they may come to. They might even come back with a verdict banning firearms for police like in some parts of the UK, which would be a very worrying development.
  12. God knows why, but your 100% right about that. Add to that the fact that the that insurance estimate is based on Frankston 3199, the car theft capital of South Eastern Melbourne. I did some math on just insuring my Commodore and its 120% more expensive where I live in Sydney than back in Frankston. Maybe its just the crap quality Sydneys makes the insurance companys think that more accidents would happen there? If anyone is in the insurance game the actual reason would be greatly appreciated.
  13. LOL its funny how they never think of that, the obsessionw with the PM must be too much for the noobs
  14. A good point, but if you want a more detailed inspection I would reccomend State Roads, they are a fair bit more expensive but you get what you pay for and get a very detailed report.
  15. To be honest I wouldnt bother, I have heard many a horror story of those coolers causing fires and frying 360's from power surges. The actual RROD is caused not by overheating but by the lack of pressure from the heat sinks onto the GPU and CPU so the heat cant be transferred from them to the heat sinks.
  16. The problem is where they catch up with him, if he's in a house where he could potentionally take hostages then they would have little choice to either try and shoot him in the arm or in the head. If its just in the street then sure the knee cap or shoulder would do the job. The guy is obviously disturbed but the problem with people like that is you never know how to react. Another perfect example of our understaffed and under funded mental health sector.
  17. Because we live in a country with ridiculous laws for police engaging suspects with firearms. I realise that cops should be held accountable for their actions especially when firearms are concerned but in a situation like this you just got to take the f**ker down without any innnocent people getting hurt and the best way to do that is with a bullet in his head.
  18. The important thing is that your okay. And plus now you can buy back the wreck for a fraction of its real value and part it out and make yourself back some of the money you lost on the excess
  19. Tutorial "Australian Parts Store: Bunnings Warehouse (Store Locater) 2 x Dan's Premium C/S MT Screws & Nuts Size 3/16x1/2 (Qty: 5 per packet) 2 x Zenith Flat Washers 3/16 (Qty: 25 per packet) I used 3 washers on the bottom of the motherboard, and 2 on the top. I cleaned the CPU, GPU and heatsinks with Arcticlean, and re-applied with Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Premium Compound. Australian's can buy those thermal products from here. Everything is working great for me so far. Thanks Lawdawg." I have fixed my 2 360's with this fix with success as well as using this fix on friends 360's as well. Its really not hard at all, its actually quite easy for anyone who can use a screw driver, watch a tutorial and above all be patient. Try not to get pissed off when you are trying to get the damn thing open because its really easy to break something. Worst case scenario is it doesnt work, but to be honest I think you will get it working again. Good Luck
  20. + 1 for dealers being full of shit when offering a car without RWC and rego. If it seems to good to be true it usually is. About 2 years ago I was looking at a cheap run about VN wagon, the guy wanted $500 and when I started the thing it was pissing oil out of the rocker covers and the dealer looked at it and said it was normal, my ass it is.
  21. +1 thats the way to do it, just keeping filling till you get water coming out of the bleed screw.
  22. +1 they have all that weight to lose anyway And plus if your a farmer in Asia who are you going to sell your food to, the guy down the road for $50 a ton or the big american corporation offering you $100 a ton. On a more serious note I dont think this effect most of us, I even put 98 in the commodore I find it just plain runs better, so no loss.
  23. Too true, never miss an opportunity to thrash someone elses car It must be a pretty weird experience barelling down the road that quick in something that weighs 2+ tons, especially with such a high centre of gravity.
  24. Its worth depends on what you want out of it, if its a car for your P's and you want to do some posing then sure its a great car for that. If its for going fast not so much. If your P's arent a worry then just go for the turbo, since the new P-plate restrictions they are often cheaper than the N/A models. You can get a nice N/A model for a little as 10k and due to being an NA not likely thrashed too much. The conversion really isnt worth it, your better off selling the N/A and buying a turbo, you have to upgrade brakes and suspension? and then swap out the engine or turbo the current one, its too much time and too much money to be worth the effort.
  25. Yeah but the X6M looks like a rhino taking a shit. Its also deeply impractical if anyone over 5ft ever wants to sit in the back.
