No it wont stop everyone from speeding but it would make a massive difference to the current figures. There will always be dickheads who ignore the law and dont pay the fines. But they make up a tiny percentage of the general public most people speed because they know 99.9% of the time they can get away with it and even if they get caught its $150-300 fine, so its a case of whoopty do I got a $300 fine and I get everywhere faster the other 364 days of the year. Sorry I didnt mean you were saying the fines were targeted, I'm was suggesting that moron P-Platers ignore the fines as they have more disposable income than the rest of the public due to mostly living at home with mum and dad. Your right about the torque I got to give you that one. Although the point of what speed they are doing is almost irrelevant when you take the figures into account I read a article recently stating that the vast majority of accidents take place at or below the speed limits (I will see if I can find it). What lets down most of these P-Platers is the fact they are driving cars which havent been properly maintained in years, the brakes, suspension and tyres are completely haggard, so when they do try and take that corner even at the speed limit the car lets them down. And before everyone gets up and champions the NSW yearly inspection its a crock of shit, most of the garages where I'm currently living offer to do the inspection "while you wait", my Gf's parents 2000 Commodore got inspected and it took less than 15 minutes, you cant check everything in 15 f**king minutes. I'm all for proper inspections but at least do it right, not this current half assed bullshit where a mechanic just tries to cram in as many cars as they can a day. What we really need to look at isnt the speeding its the losing control of the vehicle, I dont know if you've ever seen a car even after a low km/h its a big mess. My friend crashed his Gemini a (4 cylinder) into a pole at 50km and completely KO'ed the thing. Even the ANCAP safety tests are done at only 64 km/h and that makes huge mess of cars especially the older or more cheaply made ones Its not speed that is the problem, its acceleration, anyone can drive at 140km/h as long as the cars suspension is set up properly its not really that different to doing 110km/h. I've been a 1962 Mercedes brilliantly maintained with that famous Mercedes suspension on Thailands excellent freeways flying around at 150-160km/h and it feels no different to 110km/h if anything the car is more planted. I suppose what i'm really trying to say is it doesnt matter what car these P-Platers are driving they will find a way to kill themselves. My mate nearly killed himself in his Gemmy, my brother nearly did in his Pulsar and my mate who drives a Laser is constantly nearly killing himself. You can give them golf carts and they will find a way to soup them up and kill themselves. Its the "I have to prove myself" mentality that is left over from millions of years of evolution except now its not impressing your mates with your swordsmanship or horse riding skills its doing burnouts in a maccas carpark or drag racing. Just fyi I am 23 (didnt get my license till I was 20) and still currently a P-Plater at least for the 14 days I know what its like with all these bullshit restrictions. Look up the P-Plater roadtoll since they banned "High Powered Vehicles and I bet $$ to donuts that it hasnt gone down.

Another game being showcased at E3 this year is The Old Republic, A MMO based in the Star Wars universe at the time of the Old Republic. To those of you who have played KOTOR it will seem quite familiar, the game takes places sometime after the events of KOTOR 2, I hear rumours of an appearence by Revan but we shall see. What really excites me about this game other than its being developed by Bioware (who only seem to make awesome games) is the fact that for the first time in a MMO you will have companions, many companions KOTOR style. Your actions influence their perception of you and whether they stay with you or not and whether or not you get more companions in your journey. Needless to say its going to be awesome! Without further adue here's the trailer from E3 2010

After every NFS game being crap after Most Wanted I am actually really excited about this, it seems the series is going back to basics and it looks EPIC! Its being developed by Criterion games the same people who made Burnout Paradise (IMO one of the greatest games of all time) so I think NFS will finally be good again.

+ 1, about 6 months ago I looked for a good wheel for the 360 but it only supports rubbish ones. I was quite dissappointed I have so many racing games for the 360, its a pretty big oversight by the likes of Logitech and the other 3rd party controller developers but such is life.

Should I Sell My Car Or Will I Regret It?
FrangaR33 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Top Lulz Eps, are you over the Honda Jazz now your love is for your Soarer? So it seems the OP is now Eps 2.0?? -
P-Platers are always going to be dickheads no matter how much you punish them I completely concur. Hell even my father who grew up in 60's wrapped a mini with 6 mates in it around a pole, so limiting power is completely irrelevant. But like Skaife said in the story in Germany the teenagers are taught to manage speed, to manage powerful cars, there's no point letting them only have little 4-cylinder cars your only postponing the inevitable, they will end up driving a high powered car and no idea how to drive it. I call BS on the whole 4 cylinder thing anyway, a NA SR20 in a S13-S15 will easily make more power per ton than a VN Commodore or EA falcon. If we take into account the modern Euro 4 cylinders it becomes an a completely moot point. The fines arent for the P-Platers they are for the rest of the general public, make it unaffordable to speed and to break the road rules and watch the number fines tumble. Hearing about a friend getting a $1500 fine will soon motivate people to obey the road rules. They will have no choice, if they do they get financially hammered, most families cant afford to fork out $1500 so then a beautiful thing happens people start forcing each other to obey the road rules in order to not get fined, so the government doesnt need to ram home that message. I think less than 10k's over should be considered a pointless offence it happens to everyone and speeding should be based on a percentage based system as opposed to the current system. 20km/h over the speed limit on the freeway is really meaningless yet in a school zone at 3:00 in the afternoon it is a massive issue, yet both warrant the same punishment. It works brilliantly well in Germany, there the fine is 450 euros just for not keeping to the left (actually to the right in Germany but as to not confuse people) so it forces you to do the right thing. What people dont know is the Germans frown on speeding in a massive fashion it may be okay to drive as fast as you like on the Autobahn but when you get off there onto a normal highway or into a residential area the German cops will get you. Add to that the massive number of safety cameras (actually safety cameras not like the bullshit here) that get unroadworthy and unregistered vehicles off the road and also notify police if your breaking the law you end up with one of the safest road networks in the world.

You might not have to do a reverse paralell park, isnt it still the testers choice of either point to point reverse, 3 point turn and paralell parking? I did my test 3 years ago so I'm not sure if this is still accurate. Also I only had 1 go to do the paralell park, not 3. I would practice the hell out of your parking tommorow get in that mind set and hopefully you'll pass. Good luck.

not sure I agree with the > sentiment but they are both epic games. I hear that there might be a Elder Scrolls MMO coming out sometime in the next 12-18 months but they might just be rumours. I dont understand why Elder Scrolls V isnt out yet considering Oblivion was such a massive commercial success selling over 5 million copies on the PS3 and 360 alone. I have probably spent thousands of hours doing every little quest collecting every awesome piece of armour or weapons multiple times. Its even my gf's 2nd favourite game after the Sims so we had to get a copy of it for the 360 too so she could play it on the 360 and I could play it on the PC

Its a brilliant game and I almost certain there will sequels considering the sales. I'm still not sure about what I call the "f**k around factor", I could fly around in the harrier or drive around in tank for hours in GTA San Andreas but GTA IV lacked that something that made me play it when I was bored, I have played through the story a half dozen times and its awesome but when I've done all the missions and side quests I just get bored. The GTA IV multiplayer screw around definetly helped but I dont know that many people on live so it didnt really help, doesnt matter anyway my POS 360 is broken anyway. I think RDR is about the same, epic story, great side quests but I cant see myself riding around for hours killing people. I just got GTA IV for the PS3 from BIG W for $28 brand new so if anyone wants to play online add me, just let me know in the msg your from SAU my gamertag is "cirrat".

I agree it was a brilliant game but I dont think it was a good as the first, the whole Revan story line was just epic and couldnt be topped. And the bugs drove me up the f**king wall, maybe my computer just really didnt like it, I dont know. Dont get me wrong its still a 8.5/10 game but the first KOTOR was 9.7/10 in my mind. Personally I have no idea, I think its because Bioware are making "Star Wars: The Old Republic" MMO which looks absolutely awesome. It seems these days companies would rather have 500k people paying a monthly subscription than have 10 million buy a game. The KOTOR series was a hit but the sales we're never astronomical, 2 million for KOTOR 1 and 1.33 million for KOTOR 2, that is only on the XBOX but even if it was a huge seller on the PC that market really isnt there any more. Even RTS games like Command and Conquer have gone multi-platform. Anyway here's the latest trailer for New Vegas, the graphics look exactly the same as Fallout 3, but who cares? that was awesome and I reckon this will be too.

I must admit despite the 350 year wait for the GT5 i'm still really excited about it, I am hoping it not only lives up to the hype but makes Forza 3 look like shit, especially considering both my 360's are f**ked Here's the latest GT5 Trailer from E3

+ 1 will keep an eye out up here in North Sydney

Yeah but then you would have hundreds more people getting murdered or seriously assaulted every year on public transport. Just let the Mofo's do their burnouts out in the industrial estates at 2am in the middle of no where, let the cops turn a blind eye as opposed to getting them to move along, often ending up on residential streets.

Good call, I didnt really think of it like that. I suppose i'm not some revenue hungry politician or a copper so it didnt really enter my thought process, in my mind its get the fine, pay the fine, problem solved. I wish someone with some real clout could stand up and finally say the police are being used for revenue raising not fighting crime. Its not the coppers place to be the revenue collectors for politicians, its their job to lock up crims.

Get in trouble with the missus?

I couldnt agree more with Skaife, most European freeways are 130km/h and their per capita road toll is lower than ours. The problem is no government is going to invest in driving training, it wont win them many votes so its politically pointless. Also it doesnt solve the current problem, most drivers are absolutely useless so upping the speed limit with the current calibre of drivers will probably result in more accidents because people are idiots. I'm far from the greatest driver, but I still to road rules like glue because my license is far too precious for me to lose. More people need to have that same mentality, make the penalties for bad driving 5x worse, 5x the points and 5x the fines, things would change very quickly drivers would become more alert and generally better. Its the only way to convert the current useless crop of road users to reasonable drivers. Obviously reforms would also have remove the stupid 0-10km/h over the speed limit bullshit and a few other things but I think given time it could work. But in doing that you would K.O a massive source of government revenue, if you get done for 25km/h you lose your license as opposed to being able to pay 4 fines, you only pay 1, so its doubtful something like that would ever be implemented. I will never understand why the coppers target the import and modified car community and not the old bombs you see every day driving to work on bald tyres with blue smoke coming out the exhaust.

+1 with extractors, cold air intake and a free flowing exhaust you can get 100-120rwkw depending on how tired the engine is. Also the brilliant thing about commodores is you are invisible to the cops if you keep it clean, nice cheap hub caps instead of just showing stockies and rarely if ever will you get pulled over. I'm off my P's in 3 weeks and i've never been pulled over by the cops before *touches wood*, yet my car has all those mods and more. Plus they are cheap as chips, I bought my car for $750, if they break they are cheap to fix and if its too much of a problem just junk it and you'll get back a reasonable portion of the purchase price.

+ 1 Make the bastards pay

+ 1 for the level cap, I finished half of Fallout 3 and I was already maxed out. I think it will be good but not as good as Fallout 3, Obsidian entertainment always make good sequels but they are rarely if ever better than the original. Obsidian made Knights Of The Old Republic 2, which is buggy and as you all know not as good as KOTOR 1.

I have all 3 consoles. The 360 for Halo, Gears, Mass Effect and everything else backups are the way to go . The Wii is just my f**k around console I sometimes just screw around with Wii Sports by myself although most of the time I play Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros with the gf. Now for the OP's actual question PS3 is a great piece of kit its got the blu-ray player and now finally the games are a reasonable price (the platinum ones) I couldnt be happier with it, its nice not having to worry about it breaking every 5 minutes like the 360. My 360's have given me the RROD or E74 error more than a dozen times. The PS3 on the other hand has a real feeling of quality and being well put together unlike the 360 which was made with box cutters and a tin opener. The game library is now quite good even compared to that of the 360 with exclusives like Metal Gear 4, Ratchet and Clank, Modnation Racers, Uncharted to just name a few. I love the bluetooth on the PS3 too bluetooth headsets and the bluetooth remote it makes things so much easier especially with all my shit everywhere blocking my 360 remotes IR. When it comes to the exclusives the graphics are truly PC quality and the blu-ray is just awesome I got Wanted the movie for it and it looks great.

Personally I love the Benz's I grew up with my grandfather driving a 1963 (or there abouts) 230E who then passed it on to my mum and dad its still going today and in brilliant condition especially the interior. Although my wallet would say go for the Japo luxury cruiser, more specifically a V35 Skyline, relatively cheap to buy and parts dont cost an arm and a leg. Or you could have the best of both worlds 1990 190E with a VQ30DET
