Does It Feel Like Your R33 Is Outdated?
FrangaR33 replied to crazyr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Your talking about an NA Supra or an NA Skyline? If your talknig about an NA Supra then your right (NA Supra 0-100 6.5sec), an LS1 commodore stock Auto really wont be that much quicker than your car. If your talking about an LS3 VE Clubsport you will get absolutely destroyed if the person behind the wheel has even the slightest inkling how to drive. If your talking about an NA Skyline I cant put into words how slow they are compared with an LS1, hell I cant even find the 0-100km/h figures all the websites they all say Not Applicable like it doesnt even matter. -
I was thinking of doing that a while ago on top a VP Wagon full sleeper. But then I did some research into the 4wd system and it is beyond crap always breaking especially if you tried to put more power through it than stock. I really wish it wasnt crap because it would of been a brilliant project.

Fair enough I just prefer pointing out those who have the whole package, looks and body type

+1 that rear is f**king horrible, its indescriable how bad it gets once you get past the front guard.

Megan Mullally I think not, I cant stand that woman and shes not a looker imo either. Let me refer you to some attractive curvy brunettes Penelope Cruz Ashley Judd

It will be very interesting to see if Shell, Chevron etc. see this as a big oppurtunity to sink or seriously hurt BP considering the clean up is going to cost BP billions. They dont really have any reason to jack up the price of oil, its still only minor amounts of oil in the grand scheme of daily consumption, but oil companies are crafty and i'm sure the executives wouldnt mind the extra cash.

If your interior feels that outdated, get some new seats and/or a retrim in some nice leather. It only sets you back a couple of grand and it can really spruce up your car especially if you do the dash and door trims. Even the R33 in with its exterior in good condition and a good set of rims will always look better than 99.9% of Commodores or Falcons. -
I've had no PS in my Commodore for about 6 months it works every now and then which is a real pain in the ass, the wheel moves too much when you expect it to move only a little. You do get used to it though, does give you bigger forearms though

Thanks for the tips, i'll let you know how I go

Got any tips on how to deal with the bastards? class suggestions?

+1 I reckon those rims would look brilliant on a R33 GTR, pity there like 5-10k

I've played MW2 on the PC and PS3 and my god there are more campers on the PS3 than there are at f**king caravan park. Theres a completely different mentality with PC gamers, on the PC its about having fun and laugh and on the PS3 its all about stats.

I used RACV when I was on my L's and after 12 lessons and about 5 hours with my dad I got my P's. There very formal about the lessons which a good thing because there preparing you for the real deal. They're very good at knowing the routes your going to have to take on the test and each testers pet peeves.

Decibel-O-Meter $40 at Jaycar You'd definetly want to see how loud your exhaust is first though, otherwise you could make a right ass of yourself

I agree with Marc about the comfort of the big Aussie sedans. I drove a pulsar around for a couple of hours and my back and legs were killing me, I much prefer the seats and driving position in my Commodore, especially when I have to drive interstate. To be completely fair to the pulsar though I was constantly smashing my legs against the steering wheel, those cars are designed for short asses not Aussies who are 6'4. -

Dont get any of the cheapo rubbish apps, they are beyond crap. I've got Dynolicious for the Ipod touch, its on the blackberry too. Works brilliantly well, i've always got the right sorts of figures with mine, an american car magazine compared it with a G-Tech (purpose built accelerometer measuring tool) and found it to be more accurate. They also took a car to the track and found the rwkw on the app was within 3kw of the actual dyno figure. Remember with all accelerometer based devices the device has to be kept perfectly still, preferably a holder stuck to the car otherwise it wont be at all accurate.

I wonder how much luck you would have carrying a Decibel-O-Meter in your glovebox to prove to them their wrong on the spot?

You gotta remember its all about the condition a car is in, not what power it had when it rolled out of the factory, my dad's VT Berlina Auto (HSV enhanced) routinely destroys LS1 manuals because he has spent so much time and money on maintaining it. If you only throw money at a car for visual and performance mods and spend no money on routine maintenance it will just fall apart around you piece by piece, especially Skylines there a finely tuned machine, not some VN commodore which will run forever with f**k all oil in it.

Saw A Dude Smash His Ferrari This Arvo
FrangaR33 replied to greensa14's topic in General Automotive Discussion
100 VN's more like a 1000 Personally for the money I wouldn't have a Ferrari too showy, too much unwanted attention from the "have nots". Would rather have an Audi RS6 and a good condition Honda NSX and pocket the change. -

I'm 6'4 and I dont fit in the back of most cars, even if the person in front is a short ass. If you want to fit someone that tall in a car its gotta be big, 4x4, wagon or big seadan. I'd definetly go the M35 or even a V35. If your mum wants to go the cheap, reliable road you can have a 03 VY Calais with less than 150,000 k's on the clock for less than 15k. Its definetly a classy comfortable, safe car.

VN Commo Auto Wagon weighs 1359kg and has 127kw at the flywheel. I routinely destroy NA Skylines at the traffic light GP in my VP Wagon (exhaust and extractors), its a bit of a laugh that I can beat someone so badly who paid 10 times as much as I did for my car. Then I went up against a GTS-T and got totally owned, looked down at the speedo, looked up again and it was off in the distance 200m up the road.
