  1. Also rb26zed you are literally spouting off some of the most retarded claptrap I have ever heard, police need to chase criminals otherwise they get away to commit more crimes perhaps on people you care about. Police have limited resources and do wonders with what they have what your suggesting is ming bogling, say we have 1000 drug dealers getting busted every day, now to catch them in your suggested way you need at least 1 chopper and probably 50+ cars in order to block off every possible escape route per drug dealer, so say they do 2 busts a day which is not unreasonable considering the set up time. So that means we need 500 helicopters and 25000+ police cars just to bust the drug dealers, let alone the rapists, murderers and all of the types of violent criminals. I meant to write per drug dealer where it it is now written my previous post has now been edited, also missed a zero at the end of the number of police cars. Despite my lack of grammar it doesnt invalidate my point that your suggestion is logistically impossible and would be the greatest drain of the budgets of the state governments much greater than even healthcare or education.
  2. +1 People really dont realise that the government doesnt have piles and piles of money just sitting around waiting to be spent. Right now the state governments dont have enough money to even cover current policy and infrastructure projects and they use the money gained from fines to prop up their bottom line so it at least looks half way respectable. Its hardly the right thing to do but when a politician is faced with raising taxes and thereby alienating the entire population vs fineing drivers who make a much smaller percentage of the population it comes down to simple mathematics as to which one will cost the party the least amount of votes in the next election. The states are currently in $159.1 billion of debt, so its only a matter of time before the fines go up even further its been happening every year now just expect them to go up a lot faster. Nismo is right, you let these f**kers go once they will all learn their lesson like any animal with more than 2 brain cells and realise "oh yeah if I drive away fast I always get away because the cops wont chase me", also your beloved car would get stolen every other day because they are hardly going to do a runner from the coppers in their own car that would be stupid they would steal other peoples.
  3. Yeah I know, its all just a bit ridiculous that they can impose a punishment without you being given the right to defend yourself in a court of law. It spits in the face of innocent until proven guilty and due process, we really are moving towards a society where police will be judge, jury and executioner. I know we are probably decades perhaps even a century away from that sort of power being in police hands but it scares me none the less that we are in a society that values the illusion of safety over real safety and rule of law. Also in my personal experience Police have been nothing but nice to me especially the times I have had to pick up my brother from the police station, but by the same token 2 out 3 of the police I personally know are not fit to wear the uniform. The first one was considered psycologicallly unfit to serve in the army yet the police will give him a firearm and send him out into the community, the second is hardcore psycotic feminist wanting to just make any man she can suffer with as much hurt as she can physically or legally visit on them. It just scares me that there are people like that in the thin blue line that protects us common folk from the evils of the world. Just for the record I have the upmost respect for the police and their work in the community, its just a few bad apples that ruins there reputation for all of them.
  4. Because its a BA XR6 barbs, parts are plentyful and cheap and they are mostly driven by families who obviously very rarely get into accidents. Weigh that against the R33 GTS-T current king of the "Hektik" cars for both wogs, wannabe wogs and bogans alike that are involved in accidents all the time and mostly driven by dickheads trying to be fully sick and pick up chicks, so naturally they get into a lot of accidents showing off to their mates. The main reason they are so popular now with those types of people is because on your lucky day you can have one for $5k so its very attractive to those who used to have VL turbo's. Disclaimer: I know most of the people on SAU dont conform to the above description of the Skyline driver. And the above descriptions are based on my personal experiences of friends and acquaintances owning skylines and generally bouncing of limiter everywhere.
  5. I must admit even though I never break the road rules the "Hoon Laws" terrify me. I dont want to spend what amounts to 3 or 4 years of my disposable income buying and then building a legal modified car only to have a overzealous cop ruin it all because they are having a bad day. I know from reading some of the posts on here that most cops especially the ones like Graeme etc are good blokes but all it takes is 1 bad cop wanting to make peoples lives miserable to pull over 3 people a week to screw up 150+ lives a year because he/she doesnt like themselves or their life. I have been driving now for over 3 years in my old commodore wagon, clean other than the slightly different colour front guard, good clean hubcaps, stock ride height etc *touches wood* never even had a second look from the cops , but I guarantee the second I finally get behind the wheel of a skyline that will all change and I will go from being invisible to being cop bait.
  6. Dynolicious is mad, in my experience its been very accurate, I did my tests on the Hume hwy coming out of the truck rest stops on the side of the road, as long as the road is flat with no hills its a great tool for those 0-100 times and even quarter mile times if you take it to the track. If you have a look on Youtube theres a review where they compare the app with a real dyno and its within 5hp for memory and then they tested it against a 1/4 mile timer at the track and it was exactly the same, it totally kicked the G-techs ass.
  7. +1 To the OP you definetly have to get it dyno tuned under load otherwise its all just guess work by the tuner and a close enough approach that is most likely going to run rich eating fuel like crazy. Using guess work you gotta be on the safe side so they definetly cant have you coming back with your engine blown to pieces because they cbf fixing their dyno. There would most likely be a world of difference in terms of both response and economy if it is taken back and tuned properly. Out of curiousity what ECU are you using for the conversion?
  8. Take the Skyline badge off for the next 6 months and put on one from a Maxima and you'll be all sweet
  9. I remember reading somewhere they had 1 proper R34 GTR for all the beauty shots and then 4 R34 GT's for all of the stunts and they just dubbed the GTR noise over the noise of the N/A RB25.
  10. Seems to me that you have to tell them even if its within the 50mm limit "the RTA must be notified of modifcations that raise or lower the vehicles original trim height, other than altering the ride height by changing the outside diameter of the wheel and tyre combination" How quickly is this going to be forgotten about by the RTA if implemented they already have enough shit on their plate without having to worry about this stupid shit dreamt up by the politicians. On the lighter side of this if it does happen I wont have to worry about f**kwits in their jacked up landcruisers sitting their bumpers at the same level as the roof of my car (Commodore wagon standard height), literally filling up the back window.
  11. Top advice from the horses mouth, good to know if any of my "friends" ever get into any speeding fine difficulty.

    Basic Tune?

Why not just go to the wreckers and get a stock ecu without the power chip and just replace it. Also "Greenfoam" on the Just Commodores forum would definetly be able to help with this problem as he does powerchips for many of the members on there.
  13. I hate you so much right now Marc I currently live on the Northern Beaches in Sydney less than 1km from the exchange but thanks to the lines here being completely and utterly f**ked I only get (this isnt just my opinion, I spoke to the Telstra tech who came out to install my line and he reckons all the lines in the surrounding area are farked)
  14. They already have, yesterday I had to update my PS3 and with some further reading on the internet found out the update only existed to block the use of this crack.
  15. Doesnt matter, its about proportion, he was getting paid 75k GBP a year yet Hammond, May and Clarkson get at least that an episode plus their columns and other television work. I think Ben Collins did deserve more money and I think he was a champ to put up with getting paid f**k all compared with the rest of them for this long.
  16. I would reccomend giving Trent at status/chequered tuning a call as he is the man when it comes to Nistune, i'm sure he'd be able to point you in the right direction. Here is his thread about it in the trader section, also there is a discount for paying SAU members.
  17. Maybe he just wants someone to play him the greatest song in the world.
  18. + 2 Good call Hamish my first thought was of eps
  19. Electrical problem (dodgy earth or dodgy wiring), Perhaps not enough voltage is getting to the fuel pump and its not pumping through enough fuel, thats why it will start up when you give it some gas and why it will stall at traffic lights. If it isnt that then its most likely the injectors like Alvin said.
  20. Terry thankyou for my word of the day "Incorrigible". I havent heard that word since Moneypenny said it to James Bond in Goldeneye. Nice use of the vocabulary On topic, these guys are beyond stupid and I can defenetly get behind the idea of "forced darwinism". Although if you take the health and safety bullshit away like the old days i'm sure these sort of people would of killed themselves years ago.
  21. LOL best call i've heard in a while
  22. You let your missus delete your porn for shame That and your not hiding it very well, windows folder ftw!
