  1. HBF should insure it/give you a decent price if you don't intend on modifying it.
  2. +1 for glassylite. used it last weekend and it works very well. the last stage of the process includes a super high gloss sealer that makes them look really good. it's sold on eBay but I bought it off glassylite.net.au for about $35.
  3. Don't have much to offer except re: ECU.. You can actually pick up brand new PowerFC's from the states for a hell of a lot less than people in Aus try to sell theirs for second hand.. Not sure if they're still being produced, but there was a slow 'on-demand' supply of them late last year. AUD to the USD is picking up slightly and if it gets better it'd be worth looking in to if you'd consider spending a little more.. I got one for about $800AUD delivered..
  4. Looks great. Can definitely see the 32 lines but the conversion is amazing. Interior update next?
  5. Apparently same kind of deal without the tint.. Glassylite.. Repair kit for $36 from that thread and on flickr. The guy in Perth probably does this as well. Could be the end to headlights in the oven
  6. Apparently ADR approved.. interesting indeed. Saw a bmw the other day with totally blacked out headlights.. at least this is just a light tint
  7. was covered in great detail in a thread I read a while back.. something about turbulence and using a split dump to allow the gases to merge further down the pipe to create less turbulence/better flow.. think bellmouth allows you to go higher boost as the waste gate size isn't restricted like it is in the split design.. Some one who actually knows about this stuff would be better at answering that question though.. edit: found a bit of info on the split design.. gives you a bit of an idea, may not be entirely accurate though.. "Dual pipe technology is recognised by the major turbo company engineers to be the best way to make internally gated turbo's work in a most efficient way by breaking up (seperating) the different pressure ratio's between turbo and waste gas in order to eliminate turbulence. Eliminating all turbulance allows the turbo gas to rapidly accelerate away from the turbo. This action in turn reduces spool up time - produces more torque faster and will give a fatter torque curve all through the rev range."
  8. Isn't that the whole point of the bellmouth? The fact that it doesn't separate the gases like the split dump does? On my GT-RS turbo the exhaust umm.. part that bolts to the dump pipe had a built in separator whereas the stock turbo didn't, so the separator attachment on my split dump had to be removed when the new turbo went on. Hope that made sense.. So I imagine you would need a separator attachment made up for your dump pipe if you actually want to make use of the split design.
  9. Been meaning to get to something like a tuning day, just booked in for next friday at AHG woop. Thanks for the info!
  10. Don't think rear facing cameras are that new.. Stopped and asked an operator the other week about getting flashed and he said most operators don't take the time to align the cameras properly to catch both directions of traffic. Only really works for single lane roads too. I guess they've started the rear facing positioning lately to try and catch people out though. The guy who works around my area is nice enough to set his up to catch both directions.. great bloke
  11. If you're talking about turning them off completely when the fan/aircon is off.. then you can press the recirculate button (set so it recirculates air rather than drawing in new air, i think..) and then turn the system off. Should stop air coming in completely..
  12. Crazy price! Could I ask where you got your flush boot lid done or what you used? Is it a Do-Luck cover or was the whole boot replaced? That's what mine should have turned out like...
  13. wiring will be fun... so close now, well done on making it this far
  14. Is head room reduced having one of those (the glass that slides over the top of the roof) fitted? Always wanted a sun roof...
  15. yeah seems a little crazy.. unless you're thinking about a stripped interior drifter/track car or something. I'd say you'd really be struggling to find everything from forums/2nd hand, hope you know some one who works for nissan. might be worth buying a halfcut though as others have said.
  16. could try SMB exhaust over on the east coast, they have a website with a product list, might have to look it up on google though. bought some gaskets from them, do all that kind of stuff.
  17. cigarette lighter has its own fuse, located to the right under steering wheel in the fuse box thing.. 4th from the bottom on the right hand side - 15A fuse. You can buy them at most servos for like $2, i've bought some from Shell before. fusebox diagram
  18. maybe a personal loan rather than a car loan? Members Equity has some good rates. Must be a fairly new car, thought most banks had a pretty restrictive age limit on car loans.
  19. Fair enough, that's the exception I was talking about then. I've never been treated unfairly by the police so I haven't had to worry about it. I still believe there's a reason why people get stickered for 'no reason', much like some people seem to have a lot of accidents that aren't their fault.
  20. don't have an answer for you.. but what kind of rev fluctuation is needed before it's defined as hunting?
  21. I find the easiest way not to get hoon lawed is to not break the law.. seriously how hard is it? If you get caught doing 20/30+ over the speed limit then you have to take responsibility for your actions, not get all up in arms about how you've been hard done by. Sure there may be exceptions and labeling a certain demographic 'hoons' whilst older drivers escape yellow stickers and biased media articles isn't right, the majority of people here know right from wrong, so it really seems like a non-issue to me. Why is every one so worried about these laws? Very similar to the uproar caused by people getting busted for drugs etc at summerdayze then complaining the police presence was over the top. The only people complaining about the police are the ones carrying!
  22. some of that is really shocking.. most of the overseas ones don't look like they'd be that effective here though. still think the last ad from aus has some good potential
  23. yeah really depends on how loud your exhaust is.. nothing in my boot but exhaust is bloody loud so that's about all I hear, no difference from when all the lining was in there.
  24. hey, could I please have my username changed to 'bryno' cheers!
