  1. Mark - you're soft mate - just get a resonator and a muffler for your Skyline - problem solved - Why does the G/F need a 4 door when it is only you and her ??? Skylines are good for at least 2 kids under 3 ! (listen up Prank) All you people who are getting rid of your Skylines cause they are too small, too loud, etc etc are s o f t c o c k s - ha ha ha hah a ha ha Under the thumby baby ! ha ha ha ha Just get a 4 door barina as a second car ! Better still a GLORIA ! ! ! !
  2. Not a problem in the mornings, or cold start - no slap what so ever - I used ARIAS
  3. Ha ha ha ha - I've done 1100 kms on mine - Still running well ! Sorry Joel, I just had to say that !......
  4. Merli has taken over my job !
  5. I agree Andrew, but like I said - it's a quick and dirty job - and you know what - it's better than nothing - which is what I had before. I think you would find that there are only a couple of degrees in it - the biggest difference would be the time taken to register the correct temp - ie might take 30 secs or a minute for the external thermocuple to catch up - if you get my drift. Anyway - another B-Man's backyard barometer ha ha ha

  7. Geoff, I've just put a temp sensor on top of my plenum at the front - I think it is a good 'indication' of what is happening. Eg When driving , intercooler is working and temp sensor reads between 35-38 deg (when is what I expected) - At idle heatsoak sets and temp goes up to 45 deg. Start driving and temp goes back down. My new cooler goes on today, so I should see a decent step down from 38 deg It's really just a backyard test - but it seems to work OK. Of course you could get more techncial about it - but for the $20 from Jaycar and the 5 mins it took to install - I'm happy ! Cheers,
  8. Ash - buy my GTR FMIC off me - good deal for you bro ! Then you can run 12PSI no probes cuz ! I wouldn't run more then 10 PSI with stock cooler - Put a thermocouple on youe plenum see what sort of temps you are running - anything over 40-42 deg and I would be turning down the boost !
  9. When you joint two surfaces together you use a gasket as a sealer - - you have gaskets all over your engine - where ever you want a tight seal - eg : Exhaust Gasket, Water pump Gasket, and Head Gasket, etc, etc, etc. The head gasket seals the cylinder head to the engine block. Using a thicker head gasket increases the gap between the cylinder head and the block. This reduces the compression ratio - lower compression ratio means it is easer / less destructive to run more boost. Ie: On the compression stroke the boosted air does not compress as much , so in turn does not get as hot as if the compression ratio was higher. Very hot combustion can cause knock or pinging. - We all know the advantages & disadvamtages of running more boost - ie more air flow through the head and into the cylinder - combined with the right amount of fuel , a bit of spark and viola - you have a stonger more powerful combustion stroke. Hope that helps - it's B-Man's laymen explanation - anyone more techncial feel free to contribute. BTW - I have fitted an HKS Composite hed gasket - 1.6mm - same as Steve - to reduce my compression ration to 8.5-8.6:1 - Hopefully this will allow me to run 4.0 bar bro - fulsik !
  10. Here's my 2c Firstly: It was MotoConcepts that organised the event not Aaron McGill. Secondly - HGE thanks again to Oz for Organising, and very sorry that it left bad taste over the no shows. I think this was (one of) the first time(s) MotoConcepts organised an event like this (well I know it was for SAU forum/club). So I'm guessing that they should have known that there was some risk at stake. As with any business - you win some and you lose some when you are trying stuff out for the first time. Hopefully, Motoconcepts will realise that this day was a HGE success for those who attended. Also hopefully the bikes would have helped them offset any losses for the day. Also, hopefully MotoConcpepts and Eastern Creek will realise that even 50 cars on the Skidpand and the Figure 8 is too may (in my opinion) and un-manageable. We had 30 cars and I think that was the max. that could be done for the type of events like the other weekend. Myself, I would be happy paying $150 for a day like that that's $4500 for the day assuming 30 cars. This still leaves the orgainisers with a very small profit. Maybe Eastern Creek needs to come to the party and realise that you can only put some many cars on the two circuits and adjust their price accordingly. Now if MotoConcepts don't hold these events for SAU club/forum anymore, because of the no-shows, I think this will be their loss - It was obviously a fantastic day and I'm sure we all want to do it again soon - I know I do ! I think if MotoConcepts don't put a regular program like this in place - then some other organisation will. I agree with Merli re NSW Club discounts versus Forum Member prices - why did I pay my membership and contribute all I am to the club whilst others (non members) enjoy the same price that I pay ? There obviously needs to be a fine balance here. And if we were to tackle a day like this as a club proper, I dare say we would not have had so many no shows - just by the fact that the NSW Club's reputation is at stake - Last weekend, it was Oz's reputation and goodwill with Motoconcepts at stake. With the club fronting the day, no-show could be dealt with internally and maybe the club wear the loss (if any) - or reap the benefit of any profit ! ! - it could controlled and managed much more easily for all sides. What say - all those guys who said they would show up join the NSW club for say $75 (that's $25 more than normal) - Out of that $75 the NSW club could re-imburse Motoconcepts $50 per member - so of all 20 no-shows were to join - that would be $1000 to Motoconcepts. I'm sure they would appreciate the gesture, organise more days for us etc. At the same time, the NSW Club gets better scale of economies with the more members we have - therefore better discounts - we all know the benefits right ? And next drift day, we can organise it as a proper club event maybe ?? Lastly, my final 2c to the no-shows - please have a think about how this might affect the rest of us, and try and do the right thing now - and next time too - please !
  11. Dale, I'm afraid that you are learning the hard way mate. Take your speeding to the track - it's much more fun - less dangerous and cheaper in the long run ! If you were being chased you should have pulled over into a highly populated area with lots of lights, or servo or something rang the cops on your mobile - 000 is your friend ! Why were you being chased anyway ? I grew up in St Ives lived there for 15 odd years - and I nerver saw any of this sort of behaviour. I also drive through there regularly on my way to stuff - and to visit my oldies. So my thinking is that there must have been some sort of reason as to why you were being chased.
  12. His seat belt was rubbing on hist nipple ring - the pliers were used to remove the nipple ring - Very Very Ugly !! ! !!
  13. I'm interested in this thread. Sydneykid - what sort of set were you running for the 625 bhp - ie what boost and what turbo, what sort of intercooling ? Cause I would have thought this would be a contributing factor. Ie if you are running high boost, small turbo, less efficient cooler, the coil packs might break down. On the reverse side if you running all the right gear you might be fine. On my old setup - (240rwkw) the workshop guys said my coil packs were breaking down. (Spark blowing out) On my new setup ( >240rwkw) they are fine. And I have changed a lot between the two setups. (but not coilpacks) Also, the guys that told that the coli packs are were breaking down could have been spinning a whole bunch of porkies. So how do you tell if your coilspacks need to be upgraded ?
  14. Love your work Merli !
  15. Ben - that is a bit better than what you thought it would cost for the final re-sleeving , isn't it ??? Nice work !
