  4. Do I ???? Um, the R33 is nearly there - but not quite.....so yeah - my fingers and toes are crossed !
  5. Steve, so what you are saying is that I can use Rb26 pistons on my RB25 rods and I get an extra 100cc ?? Are the cranks the same ?? I thought not. Wish I had known that before I put the ARIAS RB25 pistons in ! Damn.....
  6. That's soft !! he he he How many pistons ?? I bet I can beat you ! Try 5 out of 6 - Bingo Make sure your tuner knows what they are doing people !
  7. Hmmmmmm - sounds like fun !
  8. I'm not even going to post in this thread until the R33 is back on the road , run in, and good to go ..... Whoops !
  9. I've been a Brocky fan for Bloody ages - Since Torana days - But not after that Bullshit ! Carlo, TOPS pics of the Skyzers - best bit of the whole weekend !
  10. Cool - I just saved about $1800 ! Thanks guys !
  11. I'm just thinking about what will happen to some of the juicier threads that built up a lot of momentum over the last month . Will the mometum be lost or will the thread continue ? What do you think ? As an example - My plenum results thread - all the recent info there is gone and discussion around it too - And there was some intereting stuff in there - I wonder if the same people will make the same comments back in the thread for others to enjoy in the future ?? Is suppose it will come down to the invididual to make it happen !
  12. I did ! he he he You should check out some of the threads in the other states section: Some very funny stuff WA lost 400 pages of their whoretown thread - all in three days ! I like this by Warderst : "I'm now a dribbling mess. My medical bills are going straight to the SAU admins. Thats 15 hours of therapy @ 55 p/h inc. gst= $825 Prescriptions for: Lithium = $85 Zanax = $67 Percodan = $78 Temazapam = $43 Nurofen = $10.45 Not to mention all the calls I made to phone sex lines because I was stressed. 135 calls = $1549.35 5 visits to The Boardroom 5 x 2 hours at $350 p/h = $3500. Hang on, I do that each week anyway so I won't bill SAU for that Lets see, that all comes to: $2657.78 in Therapy. anti-depressant phamaceuticals and phone relief. I'll happily take a cheque." Where's Mayor Rudi Juliani when you need him ???? We can rebuild - We can make up for lost time ! So guys - what did you do when SAU was down ???
  13. This is just my experience, and I state up front that I am no expert: When I rang Eagle I asked them this exact question - Eagle do make rods for RB26 - So when I called them and told them I wanted to buy Eagle rods for my RB25 - They told me that they don't make them yet. But they would soon ! I really don't get this.... Sydneykid says that RB25 rods can be ordered but you must quote the dimenstions and specs of the rods and not ask for RB25DET rods. This is meant to be because there are OEM agreements etc in place and as part of this agreement the vendors can't market parts as RB25 spec. So if this is so, where can I buy RB25 forged rods ? Carillo, Argo, Tomei, (all very expensive - much more expensive than Eagle Rods for Rb26) See the problem ?? I also asked the Eagle guys if they made a conrod for another vehicle which is the exact size and dimension as the RB25 ones - And they said no. So does that mean that the extra 100 ccs for the 26 comes only from the crank differences ?? From all the engine builders I've been talking to - none of them have suggested that the 26 rods can be used in a 25 - Seems weird - not that I am doubting you Steve-SST. I wouldn't have a clue - So I go by what others tell me and am just relating my experiences to date. Maybe I wasted my money shot peening and cryo-tempering my std rb25 rods when I could have ordered Eagle rb26 rods ?? But I wasn't going to pay $3000-$4000 for Carillo or Argo rods - although they are very well engineered.
  14. Yeah - Hornsby Nissan ROCKs. They were really really helpfull. Even faxed me a copy of the exploded diagram so we could be sure that we are talking about the right part. They have the entire Nissan Parts catalog on CDROM. Even imports like the Gloria - of which the guys at Nissan are going like WTF is a Gloria - All they needed was the chassis number - and bob's my Auntie.
  15. I just now received a message back from Angella - She confirmed that she has 10 bookings. So that lines up with the 10 on my list. I'll be getting an e-mail to confirm names over the weekend - but I'd say the 10 of us are all good ! Angella said that we could keep the offer open - I don't know how long for yet. SO if you want to come but havent booked - You may still have time to get on this baby ! Cheers guys - have a good weekend ! Brendan
  16. I don't think compliance makes your car roadworthy - that I think is seperate. The compliance people ensure that it complies to Aust. Design Rules. Eg: Seat Belts, Childs Restraint anchors, Side Intrustion Bars and Engineers Certificate. All of this was done (yes it took a bit longer than expected) The Blue Slip is the same as a pink slip but with a Vehicle Identity check (checks for re-birthing) - So - the bits I need (The upper strut rubber bush thingies) were the only thing that they found wrong with is - and really should be changed. If the car was a Falcondore, they prolly would have been able fix it straight away but alas - I chose a unique Nissan. Anyway - I rang Hornsby Nissan and they can get the parts - $60 each Ex. Japan - 2 weeks wait ! AHHHH - Still no car for another 2 weeks !!!!!!!! Furken Furken At the rate this is going, my R33 will be back on the road before the damn Gloria !!
  17. Yes Phil - that's what I have to do. I'm going to ring Hornsby Nissan today to see if they can match the part via part number to another model - hopefully it is the same as another Nissan ! Ahhh !
  18. Sorry Dan, I checked it in the bin - it didn't work and the destructions were in Jap - so I coulsn't be bothered - I didn't think that anyone would want it ......
  19. Hi Ash, I rang them twice yesterday and e-mailed as well - I couldn't get through. I'll be rinning them every hour today until I get through. Stay tuned buddy ! Cheers, Brendan
  20. I would presume that 'a new server' means a dedicated, real , live phyical server ! I dunno what SCA drives are - is that the same as Serial ATA ? But Web Server drives should be SCSI - ATA drives are no good for multi user environments Server NICs should be multi-homed / teamed. ISP Service provider should provide load balancing at layer 2 & 3. Web server should be backed up daily to local tape drive MySQL database should be shut down (Sau unavailable) during backup windows. ( or hot backup enabled) Full change control should be implemented. etc, etc. my 2c
  21. Good luck Roy ! I'll put my hand up to look after your car when you are awau !

  23. Hi Peeps - I need to vent - apologies in advance. I'm a bit pissed: * The Gloria took heaps longer than expected to arrive (no-ones fault, it just did) * Spent ALL last weekend doing it up for blue slip (when I say all weekend - I mean 7:30am till 9:00pm Sat & Sun) * Didn't risk the snow tyres so spent $750 on 4 new tyres * Took the wheels off the car , put them in the boot of my old mans car , took them up to Bridgestone for the new Yokos. * Custom made tinted acrylic covers for fog lights as the glass was busted on them when it arrived * Re-Sprayed front bar where there were a few scratches * Fitted Child restraints as I thought they would ping me for not having these (anchors were there but not the hooks) * Cleaned and polished the shit out of it (came up nice BTW) * Installed and wired new horn as none came with it. * Fixed all the lights and bulbs etc * Fixed the speakers and stereo * Removed remote starter * Removed all the rice that the Japanese owner had in it (weird stuff like mobile phone holders and this shit that was double sided sticked all over the inside) * Checked and cleaned all brakes (pads and disks, front & rear) * Oil Change * Oil Filter Change * Air filter change * Fuel filter change * Cleaned and de-geased engine bay * Cleaned and de-greased wheels AND GUESS WHAT - THEY FAILED ME (Blue Slip) FOR BAD FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION RUBBER (the bit between the strut and the chassis) FARK, FARK, FARK. I was hoping to have it registered tomorrow so I could go driving on the weekend - I haven't driven a car properly for like 5 months - Ahhhhhh I'm a bit dis-appointed - but I vow to move on and fix it all ! And the Gloria will be registered - First Y31 in Oz ! Frigging Blue slip inspection stations........ Actually to be honest they were pretty good about it - instead of failing me , they said ' go and fix it, bring it back , then pay us and we will stamp the blue slip' So It could have been worse - but I am still pissed ! SO - If anyone know where I can get a genuine OR replacement OR similar for other model : Front Strut upper suspension bush/rubber for a Y31 Goria - then please let me know ASAP / end rant
