  2. not by my experience I was quoted for LFR6AP-9 (std), LFR6A or LFR6AIX-P (opt) but I have a turbo so that may explain the difference
  3. I found a local supply of plfr6A-11's so I'll go with that @ $30 each kiwi. $20 cheaper per plug than Nissan NZ's quote and available at short notice.
  4. Who has done this? What did it cost? I'm at 140 k and thinking it's time I did it but finding it will be quite an expense.
  5. DARWIN - Try before you buy, or risk getting burnt. A man who had just bought a used car for $8,000 was about to refuel at a Darwin petrol station when it was engulfed by flames. The 26-year-old was driving through Berrimah when he noticed sparks and flames beneath his new purchase. When he pulled into a Caltex service station to fill up the tank shortly before 8pm (CST) on Thursday night, there was smoke and flames coming from under the vehicle, police said. Aware of the petrol all around him, the driver rushed into the station and alerted the console operator who immediately shut down the bowsers. By then, the car was well alight. "Police and fire units attended the scene to find the Nissan Skyline Coupe engulfed in flames near bowsers at the service station," police said in a statement.

  10. I got me one of these bad boys and it's mounted just above the air vent on the right hand side of the steering column if it hadn't have been for this thing's voltmeter flashing I would have been oblivious to the radiator incident I had recently whereby the fan shat the belt driving the alternator
  11. I would have had after last weekend but it proved to be too much of a mission as basically the whole dash and console has to come off to get at it and it just wasn't cost-effective for me to do it after having gone through all this just some weeks ago to install my new amp.
  12. go to autolign and ask them they should be able to help you with some bilsteins for $800 or so http://www.autolign.co.nz/Branches.asp

you'd be right pixel8r when my turbo blew I had nowhere near the torque I had before and nowhere near the torque of a 25de that I test drove either
  20. good point maybe but more a problem of age of equipment perhaps as both incidents of cooling failure occurred in winter or colder autumn weather the turbo is just one of those things as others here will no doubt agree
  21. my bitches: turbo blew 80 odd k top radiator split at filler neck 100 odd k viscous fan shat itself and ruptured radiators 138 k other than that is a fine piece of work, very well sound insulated and pulls/pushes like a train 2001 rs4 250 t (cold weather edition)
  22. back on road after 2nd hand parts were sourced tk tested and no head gasket issues so all good there
