Raysboostin replied to rb26stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
yes, i will also hope it rasins itself out. id hate to clean rasins off my car. but the rain shouldnt stop us anyway. AWD FTW!! is there anyone from the sunny coast or the northside of brissy that wanna meet up somewhere to cruise to milton?? -
not many?? theres 3 (2 white 1 silver) not including mine within 5km of my house and ive seen at least 6-8 others (red ser1, red ser2, green ser1, yellow ser2, white ser2, silver ser1 x2)

just so you know, in qld its completely illegal to cut or modify the metal reinforcement for your bumper. so in the event of an accident you will have no insurance and they might even cancel your rego for being unroadworthy. the rules are very clear about this, as its part of the crumple zone. although you and i know its prob not gonna make a difference they dont see it that way. ring the guys at the qld trans modifications desk, they tell ya all sorts of helpful stuff. i asked them about this about 4 yrs ago and its saved alot of hassles, cos qld transport have pulled over my car and thoroughly gone over it and i drove away without a single ticket or defect but more on topic, instead of using a return flow cooler, why not use a double pass cooler?? it doesnt need to be this brand, but the style is what i mean. surely double pass would be more compact and offer better cooling. also it would match up with stock pipework.

Mesh Wheels With Bridgestones
Raysboostin replied to a31lunacy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
did u check to see if it is cast into the rim somewhere?? there is a way to measure it but its better done with the tyres off. -
i've got an idea. tell ur daughters to get a job and start charging rent. every bit helps!

its funny how the government claims they want to lower the road toll, but police go round saying this?? im willing to bet some ppl would rather die trying to out run the cops than have their car confiscated for good. but on topic i think what ur trying to achieve here is fantasic. i hope it works

Lost For Words, Very Unsure
Raysboostin replied to loymclure's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
god knows why ppl do this. someone must like it though cos its sold. sure it would be ok in a vl. but the lack of low rpm torque from the 2.5 would drive me nuts. actually thats the only thing i hate about my stagea. twin turbo 3.8L @ 14psi FTW!!! the engine bay pic is my commo. let the flaming begin!! -

i think you should add the date that you settled on to the 1st post. just so theres no confusion. have you plotted the entire route yet?? -
sorry to hear about ur accident. at least no one was hurt. these sort of situations make me so mad and unfortunately they happen far too often. they also make me ashamed to own my commodore. i wish all these d!$&heads would put on their lead shoes and take a long walk off a short pier.

Noisy As Fark Kaaz 2 Way
Raysboostin replied to CrankyGTS11's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ive got a kaaz in my commo and its exactly the same. everyone i know that has one is the same. but i'll live with the noise, its a small price to pay for the better traction -
i think you should read things a little more carefully before you attack someone like that. not once reading any of his posts did he say anything bad about mr berry. all i got from what he said was that everyone should be aware of inferior 2nd hand clutch parts. im sure mr berry does build some of the best clutches in the country, but again the quality of the parts used is the key factor. im willing to guess that the "big hitters" that DIRTgarage mentioned would have used the best parts money can buy. which has nothing to do with what 3lit3 32 is saying. maybe you do know ppl that have used his clutches to 500awkw but are they using the same type of inferior 2nd hand parts?? even if they are how can you tell when its going to fail?? it may last 10 times longer than the one that is pictured on the 1st page, but are you willing to risk your life and the life of any front seat passengers on it?? that may sound extreme but sadly its a realistic senario. im not questioning mr berry's skills or saying not to use his products. but i am saying, do your research and make sure the parts you send him are up to the task. it may cost a bit more to be sure, but the cost of it all going horribly wrong could be even greater.

id suggest that you make sure that the spark plugs u got are definately the correct ones. my stag had the wrong ones in it when i bought it and they weren't making proper contact with the coil as they were too short.

would u like to explain how you plan to keep the wastegate shut to 20psi if u have it set at 10psi?? if u have the turbo set to 10psi and the blower set at 10psi then the turbo wont do much as the wastegate will be open whenever the blower is at max boost. which will be long before the turbo starts making the same pressure. this is because the wastegate is controlled by manifold pressure. the turbo must be at a higher pressure, even if its only a few psi.
-
the m90 blower can run alot more than 10psi. there are many super6 commos running 18-22psi through them (intercooled of course). as much as the super and turbo idea sounds good, it a massive amount of work (and $$$$$) that would be very unnecessary unless ur chasing 500+hp and still want good response. i would suggest seriously considering blower only for ease of fitting and alot less plumbing. either way you go it should sound fantastic. good luck.

the black grill looks sweet against the yellow paint. nice work.

not really a muscle car but i have a magazine with a pic of an EH holden with a RB26 in it. i thought it was pretty smart, good power (and prob economy)without following the V8 flock -

Choosing A New Clutch For An Rs4s
Raysboostin replied to Raysboostin's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
will do. i just gotta make sure that im getting the right one then i'll post it up. i know i'll prob get flamed for this, but i dont ever use rebuilt clutches. if they break or stop working properly i throw them away and buy a new one. i also dont use machined brake rotors. before anyone says it i know its probably safe use these items, but i just dont like to. its a personal preference. i guess id consider it if i spent like $3K on a clutch, but i'll cross that bridge when i come to it.
