  1. just found some other tyres laying about... 2 x 215/45/R17 Toyo Tranpath - $30 each.. good tread, not bad in the grip stakes... not the best, but definatly not the worst. fairly decent tread.
  2. bah... nothing will ever happen. people will complain about hoons on the street, then they will complain them when someone is trying to get them off the street. there is 3 golf courses at pokolbin so land is hardly an issue..... and an airport.. airport doesnt seem to bother any of the winerys with their noise or exhaust fumes. etc. not only that... the winerys dont seem to worry about the condition of the roads there.. they are some of the most banged up in the country i reckon. lots of richie rich's out there driving in their BMW's and mercs, and the odd ferrari every now and then... driving along shitty windy pothole ridden roads.. i bet those guys would love the oppurtunity to dump the missus off with at a winery and go and cut some laps while she gets cut with her gal pals. there is soo much land up here thats away from people its not funny.
  3. good work mate, i have plans to build an rb24... but they are in a galaxy far far away at the moment. same turbo as me too brah...
  4. just bought my 2 day passes.. coz im cheap and wanted 15% off.. woooot cant wait.
  5. yes it depends on the width of the rim... +22 is an acceptable, medioka fitment for GTR's... its a tough fitment for gtst's though.. for a really flush/slightly outside the guards fit on a GTR, look around for something around +15. i have a set of 17x9 + 25 and 17x9.5 + 25.. even though its only 12mm wider.. the 9.5's sit much further outside the guards than the 9's do.. i could pull off the 9's even with wide tyres, whereas the 9.5s i need stretched tyres to fit. offset is not that hard to work out... its only when you throw different widths into the mix that it becomes difficult. i wouldnt look at anything smaller than 9.5" and with more offset than +20. and remember that wheel widths are measured bead to bead... not edge to edge.. so a 9.5" rim is usually 10" edge to edge... but that all depends on the brand of wheel and the type of lip they use.
  6. bulid thread here brudda... lots o pics, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Nz...nd-t302564.html
  7. hey guys, got 4 tyres, dont need them so they are up for sale. 2x Yokohama S-drives, 255-40-R17 95-100% tread, no damage, think they retail around $250-$300 a tyre. after $200 each.. 2x Nankang Ultrasports, 255-40-R17.. i have no idea what these are worth.. they are also 95-100% tread, few stone chips etc, nothing abnormal. dont mind the bump in the photo... i have checked that tyre out and it is fine... still holding pressure and no deformation. $150 each.. pickup from east maitland, or thornton, or can deliver to newcastle for some coronas. or I CAN TAKE CARE OF FREIGHT FOR THESE BAD BOYS ANYWHERE IN AUS. JUST ADD $15.00 PER TYRE. open to offers as i just need to offload them. i can also provide better pics on request. cheers Linton
  8. farrrrrk that looks phat as albert dude... good job.. the verandah flares look full matsuri spec.. i love it, bet cops or your hands didnt though. viva garage kit seems to fit ok.. compared to others that ive heard of anyway. after looking closely at the back end of the cusco wrx, i think ill use wide front fenders like dmax and a modified bolt on flare at the back. its going on a pure track car, so not worried about doing it for police attention etc. just want the extra track and big rubber.
  9. new wheels turned up today... bit of shame they are only 17x9... not 9.5's like they were advertised.. not really a drama.. well sort of is.. but i can make do for the moment... thanks rawdon, poach away... rest assured most of my ideas are far from original.. i do not have the brain capacity. cheers Linton
  10. thats true... but ill put the 255s on there tomorrow, remove the suspension and jack it up to where it should sit.. remember that pic is with 235s.. the 255s are a whole different kettle of fish.
  11. yeh it is a bit to cover.. and thats with the stretched 235.. plan is to run grippy 255's all round for circuit. so thats why it will need the +50. fronts are 17x9 +25 which will fit gtr guards but 17x9.5 + 0 at the back will need fenders.. im thinking, and i may need to be shot down here... but say i get the dmax, +30 rear fenders, and just space them out +20 at the back with 4 pieces of 20x20 aluminum square tube.. mould them in at the front and at the top.. and leave the back open a little bit.. otherwise i might just get some chopped rears, bash them into shape, then make a frp or c/f copy of them and rivet them on. ohh i dont know. god damn hippies..
  12. ooh ooh!! where is the carbon one roy?? perfect panel gaps... pfft... fooey to perfect panel gaps i say.. i dont even know what to search for.. front bar reo, front bumper support, front bumper reo, front bar support, front bar frame, etc, etc.. there are only so many hours in the day and only so many gigabytes to my d/l limit... and most of that is for porn. ben.. sounds like youd be better off doing targa in something like a D11 dozer or something.
  13. guards are rolled... and they fit sweet with the 17x9.5 +25mm... now i have 17x9.5 -0 and i want wide fenders.. i like the rivet on ones.. no mess, no fuss, just get em on and go. they need to clear this
  14. thanks.. they are only +25... i really need +30 at the very least.. +50 would be more ideal.. im undecided on the roof spoiler... they look good on s13s... need to see more on teh r32s i think.. theres a great looking dark blue one doing the rounds on speedhunters etc.. has the 5 spoke blitz wheels.. .looks fantastic.
  15. hey guys, im not big up with bodykits.. i tend to stay away from them actually, but i require big fenders for my r32.. now i can find a few... like dmax and d1.. that come in my required size.. but i want the gap at the back end of them.. and an even gap.. the dmax ones have the gap at the top, but then taper back in to fit at the bottom. i want it to look like this i cant find any rear guards that sit like this for the r32.. plenty for the silvias.. i dont like the ones that mould back in to the body.. they look tacky and too round usually. any help would be much appreciated... i know nothing about bodykits. cheers Linton
  16. epic thread brought back from the dead..
  17. hey fellers... ive been trolling google images all of yesterday and last night to find pics of how the top level time attack cars hold their front bars up.. i want to replace the factory bumper reo with a custom aluminium one but i cant find anything to go on.. i figure with all the aero at the front, they wouldnt just have the front bar flapping in the breeze or held on at the sides alone.. i know thw splitters are seperate to the front bar, and are made with a custom frame.. this isnt a problem.. i am having a mind blank with the front bar reo. heres a pic of what i started last night... just rough at this stage what have you guys done?? any custom fabbed jobbies??? or just speedholes in the original reo?? please help!!
  18. thanks... i wont be quitting my day job to be a photoshopper though.. i do not have the attention span.
  19. hey guys... been a little while since i updated this... not much has been going though... my garage is a pain to work in during the summer.. plus with christmas and febuary bills... there hasnt been much doing at all.. but a few things have been happening lately. firstly.. sound deadener.. after attempting to do it with loctite freeze spray.. which works until it melts and becomes wet.. i decided to quit while im ahead... and got some dry ice.. the nice man gave me 16kg for the price of 6kg.. cant complain about that!! snap... crackle.... pop.... BANG! one swift hit with a soft mallet and 90% of it just lifted straight up.. now that thats done... i can get moving with the interior. i removed the exhaust from the car... its a beautiful exhaust, but too quiet for my liking.. its a kakimoto stainless jobby if anyone wants to buy it. great street note, very quiet though. i was intrigued by the kakimoto stainless cat... as its very small and light... and you know why.... coz there was nothing inside it!! fate is a funny old thing.. and it works in wierd ways.. i absolutly loved my panasports... they set the car off.. just the right size and offset.. i was devastated that id destroyed 2 of them.. and always keep an eye out for some.. they are hard to find in decent sizing with good dish.. i passed up a set of 17x12 and 17x10 when i first got mine.. i wish i didnt now. then i found these 17x9.5 +25 off an R32 GTR... should get them in the next few days. now the fun part of this is, as they are 3 piece rims... i can mix and match all the pieces to create a perfect set of wheels... i was so excited on saturday night that i couldnt sleep... so at 2.30am.. i played around this is the original rear wheel fitment... 17x9.5 +25 then i swapped the rim centres with the front ones. which have a more meat on the hub face to clear the brakes... 25mm more meat. (rear on the left, front on the right) now i have 17x9.5 0 offset... and it looks cranky!!!!!!! tossing up now what to do about the rear guards... if it was a pure drifter... and i was always going to run stretched tyres... i would just flare the guards as much as possible.. but as i want to run wide tyres like 285's for track days and 255's for other uses.. im thinking +30 or +50mm front and rear fenders. like this... but with the visible gap at the back of the fender. i want it to have a stance like the tomei/cusco wrx i think the engine is next on the list... mainly as i want it back in its home.. it takes up too much room in my little garage, and suspension is expensive due to all the little $200 parts.. i can do the engine relativley cheaply in its first stage. till next time folks and thanks for looking Linton
  20. i think he's referring to the fact that straight cuts tend to sound like really bad and really loud opera.. and cops know what they are. personally i love the sound.. send tingles down my spine. more power to the straight cuts!! reprazent!!
  21. hahahah ahhh this thread has gone to the dogs... time for bewbs. hella flush from my understand does stem from cartman's use of the word hella.. like.. you guys are hella stupid.. the act of squeezing wide rims with undersized tyres into little guards that arent meant to accept such width.. sooo the hella flush stance merely requires the sidewall of the tyre to be a bees dick away from the guard.. which can be achieved at 100mm height by not having ridiculous BN copy bodykits etc. if you were to use a standard bodied car and fit a 10" rim with a 235 tyre, and lower it a little.. you could get the right stance. the best fitment is superepicincrediblehellaflush. its what mary pimpins would say these days.
  22. pics of the wheels it comes with please??
  23. it is quite easy to have hella flush fitment and have 100mm clearence.. so dont make such a broad statement. of course noone will put their hand up and say they are a hoon... i will put mine up and say that i was a young male in a what i thought was a reasonably fast but extremely cheap r31.. i have done my fair share of stupid shit in stupid places.. and i lost my licence in 2002 because of it, since then ive had one speeding fine for 60k in a 50k zone and a defect notice.. and even that was 5 years ago. i know other guys that are continuously losing their licence's, writing off their cars, or getting them impounded.. you can be a hoon in any car.. guys in beefed up 4wds are usually bigger hoons than those that drive commo's an enthusiast thinks about time, place and amount.. a squirt here or there .. a hoon doesnt.. anyplace, anywhere, anytime.. and the more smoke the better, i think they enjoy bragging about losing their cars or licences, they see it as a trophy i think a hoon is after the attention whereas a enthusiast is just after satisfaction, that warm fuzzy feeling when you put your foot down a little, and noone is around to see it. that is the difference between an enthusiast and a hoon..
  24. yeh but cams sound grumpy... i love em. my 20 build will have huuuge fark off cams.. just for the noise.
  25. crinkle finish can also be achieved by popping the painted item in teh oven.
