How long did you need the storage for? how often would you need to get to the car? did you want secure or is out the front ok?

My brother has fitted one of these alarms before with all the bells and whisles... i dont know if he will do it again but i can ask, he is not an installer just knows what he is doing as he is an electrical engeneer. Be aware that the auto-start function is illegal in Australia and if you happen to take your car to a workshop make sure 100% it can not be used as if anything happens to your car (damage) you will have no way to get compensation.

I had a friend have it done many years back now at TAFE i think the thornlie one but dont quote me on that... she did have to take it back to get a small bubble patch fixed up and they did rub it back and do it correctly and i have to say the job looks great now, they have to meet industry standards and the tutor is always there to check... just be aware the car is gone for almost a whole semester as it is a training tool and make sure it cannot be started

I was on that cruise and am more then willing to help however i will keep everything i say on a public forum not in private, i understand you have a lawyer and are obviously fighting for something which is good. However you are not giving any details and want people to speak up well if you already have a lawyer then so should anyone else before talking to you. If you are willing to PM me all the details you have i am more then happy to respond, as keeping this quiet/private to me seems as though you need to push the blame for something otherwise you would not have a lawyer already, and he is asking you to get more details/witnesses which means there must not be a strong case... If you keen to send me detials then i am more then happy to give you any info i have in my head

might sound silly but make sure you have not plugged the park lights to the indicators and visa versa... thinking this as you said the hazards work except the front...

So i understand... can i drive to collie right now pay $15 and drive around for the hour? if the answer is yes then i will get back in my box and accept i am wrong... however if the answer is no then my point is made... please read how i wrote it i am not making an arguement i am stating where some people not on the forums are coming from it is not my opinion it is fact. i know there is events to participate in... i was saying that other country's allow you to go any time no event required or special lisence. -

Sorry i think you missed what i said... i was not saying it is hard and i got one myself... i was just saying that in other country's they have realised the attitude you have said... too hard and people cant be bothered... so they made a change to allow anyone to go to a track whenever they feel like without a CAMS, i was saying that yes there are avenues and i agree with them but we need to remember that not everyone want to be part of a group or forum but still like to get out once and a while and they cannot... some avenues are great for some but not others... I agree with Brad it is only an hour but what happens if you live in a small counrty town and visit the big sticks and just want a race around?? there is no option unless you plan weeks ahead of time make sure there is a track event and then plan your holiday around it... i agree that is an extreme case but so are a lot of these accidents.... -

i agree with all the talk about getting it on the track... i myself wish to do the same thing... however i wish we would take a leaf out of other country's books and allow a simplton without a CAMS or any ongoing fees to simply rock up to the track pay my fee race around and go home... i know they do this in europe, england and the states as i have done it in rent-a-cars not cause they were cool but simply cause i could... i think a lot of people are put off cause of getting the CAMS and fee, i agree these fees are much less then a life but i know it could be even less if the governement would take some small steps to help out... simple fact is that most of these idiotic accidents happen at night cause that is when you just finished hanging out with the boys and have some testosterone pumping and want it out of your system 2 ways of doing this is go home wake the mrs or put your foot down, unfortunately put the foot down is the first response and we have no safe late night areas to do so.... pleas guys think for 10 seconds about what you are about to do is it worth it... you will always answer no. first leason i was ever taught was by a police instructor..... "your only as good as the person next to you and the road you can see".... -
Guys i am well and truely against dodgy work too but please if your gonna post your experiences then dont just name the company as a lot of these stores are run by different people which means better or worse service depending which store you visit.

I hope you got his name to make a complaint about him. You do not need to show them the engine number on the block that is for compliance to do, they just need the number not to see it but to write it down, reason for this is that they do not check the engine number on all cars that come through so they cannot single you out, i have put 7 imports over the pits and only one had to check the engine number because it was under the old 15 year rule and we did not have complience plates.

Your Air filter should be fine as long as it is secured.

Not so much on the propaganda band wagon but my own band wagon that eventually the crime will match the punishment... i am sick of hoon laws being unjust compared to other laws... i am not against the hoon laws being there as i think they have merit in some ways i am just against it being a worse punishment then Drink driving...
-
yes it is true they are taking your car now if you have no license but still not for drink/drug driving which i still think is worse personally cause you have no control over the car in case of emergancy... finally thought the government is doing the right thing never thought i would say that ever...
-
why spend the money to save the money does not make sense to me... if you want it for a safe tune then yes but i dont think what you will spend on the SAFC and tune will pay off in fuel savings... seriously even if you do 50Km more a tank at 10Km/L then you saved 5 leters which is $7 tank a week is only $350 saved for the whole year you tune alone will cost you that.... I dont think you will be 50Km better so it is likely you will save less...
-
I would not be too worried about the emmisions as if they are going to test cars it will be on a complience basis not on yellow stickers unless your blowing smoke or have a lot of carbon on your back bumper to show that your car needs to be checked... Lets face it if you have a $500 car and it will cost you $3000 to test it what will you do.... take the plates in for the rego go out to the bush thrash it and then burn it... well guess what is more polution... there will be a lot of issues on this matter before the police will enforce it.

You wont get much of Alpine gear very often as they do not need to discount to sell stock they have a good name, guess that is why you want it Best bet is to wait for a summer catalogue and see what they offer.
-
If the cop picks on the body kit cause of a corner on it tell them if you hit someone with your car the last thing they will care about is a cut on their bloody ankle this is just getting crazy.
-
Unless there was canvas coming through the rubber on the tyres they can't have been that bad not to drive on them... GRRR
-
Mate i know the owner of a shop that can get anything so send me a PM and i am more then happy to help.
-
What is it with cops giving stickers now and saying tow the car... that is as good as a red sticker which have not been around for years and years... I would like to know the law that says they can do this, as they are suggesting that you must now tow the car to the mechanics to get fixed and then to the pits before it is drivable...
-
Dont worry about the hoon hotline it is a load of crap.... they will only come out if there is more then one call from different people about the offense... this is to stop time wasters just dobbing in people they dont like... o the guy next door did a burn-out now come get his car.... they wont care cause it is simple one person not liking another person... time wasters.
-
you guys have it all wrong... you have a weapon that is not a weapon.. it is called your car keys... all you have to do is put them in your fist with a key poking out and punch the person in the face tearing it open and all you have to say is you had the keys in your hand and did not realise that one was poking out... they cannot prove either way so it is not a carried weapon and avoids all weapon laws.. i know some great lawyers
-
agreed Nic... go the west australian laws hey Attack the easy and inocent cause they wont resist... lets face it they been trying for how many years now to get bikies and still cant and need to keep up the quota's....

Calling the cops does nothing... i had a drunk guy hit me in cannington and i called 000 cause he was drunk and was bout to drive off and i didn't know what i would do... 15 minutes the cops turn up even though the cop chop is 30 seconds away... and i here nothing about it since even though they said they would call and the guy was clearly drunk... 2 years and still waiting... Moral of the story bash the f**kers so at least you feel better and if the cops press charges on you at least they have to press them on the other guys too
