Sorry i shouldve mentioned the extremely bad idle.... it goes to stall but picks up revs to keep the car alive! its not AFMs ive just had them reconditioned to try and fix my random cutting out problem. so the IC pipping guys?? its a stk IC, where should i look??? thanks for the help guys!

ill check the IC pipping tomorrow. it cant be the turbo's cant it? seem as they ar still spooling up?

stk turbos bro??? i wasnt fanging it, i dropped it back into 2nd to go around a corner, i wasnt thrashing it i thought it was the turbos but i didnt get smoke from the exhaust so i didnt suspect the turbos? could i have been wrong?

im trying but i cant actually get to them! is this all it could be? the IC pipping? im really in need of help here, if just overcome a random cutting out problem lol cheers

hey guys, I was on my home from the mechanic, he just changed the oil filter and oil. on my way home, there was a bang noise from the left side of the engine and now no boost!!!!!!!!!!! on the stk guage it wont go above 0 (its like the turbos will spool up but its not getting to the engine!) i took it back to the mechanic and we checked the vacum lines on the plenum side (from the stk boost solenoid) and they are still attached. we checked to see if maybe the intercooler hose had popped off... we cant see anything around the intercooler?? please help me!!!!

ok so im assuming that there is a sensor out? what would cause this problem then? -
Ive been having some trouble with my GTR for the last month or so. it would occasionally cut out... when ever it felt like my auto elec thinks he has traced it back my mines ECU, after testing everything else that could have caused the problem. so ive borrowed a stk ECU from a mate and got my auto elec to put it in so we confirm it was the ECU playing up but now my car runs rough as guts from 0-3000 rpm, im talking all you can hear is the exhaust popping lol. also maybe unrelated but my speedo is limp from about 0-40kms? like it doesnt hold in the 1 place and climp steadily it fluxuates??? cheers

hey peps got a few things up for grabs. Greddy Profec B-spec 2 EBC It was in my GTS-t for about 2 months and was removed to sell the car. reason for selling is im going for an aftermarket ECU and ill be buying the Boost solenoid to suit so its no longer needed. if no1 in SA is keen ill post it in the Car parts thread. $300 firm Pioneer 10" subs and Kenwood 640w 4 channel amp + (amp and sub cable, including fuse) Also was in my GTS-t and was removed for selling. reason for selling is im going for work on my car and am not worried about my stereo atm it was only in my car for about 3 months, before that i was bought by a mate and never used lol i dont know why but he just had it sitting in his room for about 2 years. $300 for the lot Sony 6" 170watt speakers bought 2nd hand never fitted. $20 neg? lol PM, Call or MSG 0412 921 674 Cheers joel.

Had my car in at the auto elec today and he is hoping he has found the problem! there was a dry connection on 1 of the circut boards in the ECU. so i gotta drive it around for a few days and see how i go. atleast now im getting somewhere lol. but now its running rich as.... i tried to reset the ECU but i dont think it made much of a difference? any ideas?

yeh my hicas light comes on occasionally but i just figured that when its trying to work because i got a lock out bar well tonight after work i was trying to replicate the problem... "great success!" (Borat ftw) i was reading some posts on similar problems and some1 mentioned if you pull out your AFM plug while its running it should splutter but go to a nice idle and basically retard when you try to rev it over 2 thousand rpm. i thought what the hell... so i tried it, my car just cut out straight away....put the plug back on and tried to start, no start! started after about 3 minutes but it would idle for about 10 seconds then die! then after about 10 minutes it runs fine!!!! my exact symptons! and yet again after that episode it wouldnt do it again but atleast i found a way to replicate the problem! that problem should rule out the CAS and ignition module surely??? a bad earth in the AFM cable?

took it to boost n oz and they drove it around like all day and it didnt cut out (if it doesnt cut out they dont know where to start looking) PROPER import work shop like who?

well the thought had crossed my mind but i had it pressure tested and its came back squeeky clean (45psi on start up not sure on the rest of the info) tonight when i called the RAA the guy said it sounds like the CAS but it was benched??? are these things really that anal? if my pump was on its way out wouldnt it constantly show signs of no power etc???

I had my auto else test my fuel pressure and it came back fine. So the only thing that is left is the ECU? i really need some help here im not getting any answers from mechanics. the problem never occurs when its in the shop or when they take it for drives..... Tonight when it cut out i noticed the taco needle spazzed out something cronic just before it died, moving heaps fast between 0 and 2 thousand RPMs. id start the car and the taco would spaz out. It started everytime though just didnt last long (spluttering). after 10mins Then it would start fine, idle nicely for about 15 seconds then run rough then cut out... another 20 mins then its was fine for the drive home If i could find a Power FC to borrow to test sensors it may help but i dont think they will show faults while the problem only surfaces at the most inconvenient times sad.gif any1 else got any ideas? appreciate the input cheers -
Ok well i didnt even make it to Domahs house to swap in the ECU. called the RAA and he was pretty sure its related to a sensor. just for the fact that when it gets hot it tends to die. why i can drive it for about 2 hours 1 day and its fine then i drive it for 30 mins and it dies the next day ive no f**king idea. thanks steve.... im surprised you didnt post some cracked out picture to go with that post lol Thanks penny, thought was my intial thought but when my car cuts out it does stil have power so embarrassing pushing a skyline hey lol. im lending an ECU of dohmar and putting it in tonight so that should give me some answers
