  1. We don't need 10 posts for the same cruise. You're new here, so I suggest you please read the rules and post your topic in the correct section.
  2. I LOVE the DoF in this first one, that is spot-on! And the second one is THE best wedding shot evah!!!
  3. If this is the standard I'm up against, I have no hope!
  4. Check with your insurance company before you start fiddling too, some insurers won't pay up if your car is stolen and the alarm wasn't professionally installed.
  5. Nah, didn't get to sit in any of them, Sidd. They were all roped off, unfortunately. My sis bought her boyfriend a voucher for an hour in a flight simulator as a Christmas gift, and he used it on Saturday. The simulator is inside that museum down in Nowra, so we went for a wander around the place before and after his flight session. Oh, the flight sim was intense - god only knows how they cope in fighter jets! It's surprising how many people on SAU are in the armed forces.
  6. Some from Saturday at the HMAS Albatross Flight Air Arm Museum.
  7. Upload them to your Photobucket or Flickr (or whatever) account from the phone, and then link them here later. I know both Photoshop and Photobucket have Apps for uploading off an iPhone, and I just found quite a few for Flickr as well.
  8. Spots are filling up at a decent rate, so the sooner you get in the better!
  9. Looks amazing, Mike. You've done an excellent job with detailing it, it looks super-clean! The pearl white looks like it has a grey mixed into it, but I'm guessing that's due to the reflections from the surroundings, right?
  10. We've done it before, and I'm guessing we will again this year. The club VP has usually lead the charge, and he puts in HEAPS of effort to make our club look good!
  11. I might be keen too, depending on where and when.
  12. Those two shots are awesome, Kory - both cars pop off the background. That Ferrari is a stunning example of one of their older models! And the 1200 is awesome just because it's a neat Datto.
  13. Aren't the tv tuners/displays hooked up to the handbrake switch, anyway? So I'm guessing it wouldn't matter what gear you were in, or if the car was auto or manual - as long as the handbrake is on, it will display. So if you "short out" that wire (or put a switch on it) to make the display think the handbrake is on, then it will work fine.
  14. I should hopefully be getting "the LOLvo" back from Yavuz tomorrow, so I'll be aiming to comprehensively smash you all* at WSID. *Disclaimer: this "smashing" will be purely on the basis of who has the most available boot space in their car, mmmkay???
  15. I'm soooo looking forward to having my car back so I can experience that for myself! Hopefully tomorrow, Andrew. The clutch is in, it was on the dyno this arvo when I called the workshop.
  16. Set dates, you say??? They're in the first post! And in the NSW Events section! Oh alright, here you go... * SAU-NSW Texikhana - Sunday the 5th of September, Nirimba TAFE grounds (near Blacktown). Come along to one of THE cheapest driving events around, just $45 for SAU-NSW members, or $60 for non-members. * the 21st birthday of the R32 GT-R - a cruise, followed by a showing of the highlights of the 1992 Bathurst win. This is just $15, and includes a contribution of a donation to the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
  17. Tried replying to this last night, but the forums were down... It's actually bitey AND heavy. I can deal with the heaviness (even though I'm a skinny mofo), but like I said, with Sydney traffic the bite is a PITA. It's either in or out, and sometimes the car shakes REALLY badly as you try and release the clutch to move along slowly. Nope, it's not assisted. Here's a link to the sales threads that lead to me buying my car (I bought it from Argo just under 5 yrs ago): http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/se...mp;highlite=%2B Here's a link to his posts in the manual conversion thread (from post #63 onwards) - my car is the dark green one: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=1545409
  18. Try a few here: http://www.google.com.au/search?q=snow+cha...mp;ved=0CBIQpwU
  19. So, the two SAU-NSW Execs (Duncan and myself) are coming along, and the question has to be asked: What does it take to get other Stagea owners out to our events?
  20. Doesn't Axl own the G'n'R name?
  21. Totally agree! Yeah, the little turds... Hmm, I bought a Sigma flash and it can trigger off the on-camera flash too (even on my Ricoh P&S). It's the Sigma EF-530 DG Super, and I bought a second one from DigitalRev.com because they're really well priced there, and it arrived from HK in 3 days. All I need to do is put it in "Slave"mode. Can't you do that with the 580EX-IIs and others? Isn't that good enough for most people's needs, or am I missing something extra that the PocketWizards and others do??? http://www.digitalrev.com/en/sigma-ef-530-...ml?match_type=1
  22. Eww, my car went in today to have the puck clutch removed. It's a PITA to drive around in traffic with - I've got no idea what Adelaide traffic is like, but here in Sydney you can find yourself doing 15-20km/h, stop-start, on the FREEWAY at times. Spigot bearing is making a hell of a noise when cold anyway, so I'm killing (at least) two birds with one stone!
  23. It *should* be quite clear what's damaged, depending on how bad the damage is. It's at least semi-likely that the valve won't be sitting on the seat properly if the shaft is bent. And the extent of the damage varies with each different engine - in some cars the valves protrude A LOT into the combustion chamber, and in some cars they don't. Some heads have a clearly visible "dip" in the head for the combustion chamber, and others have an almost flat surface across the head along the CC. Sometimes the valves are at massive angles to each other, sometimes not. As you can probably figure out, it really depends on an engine-to-engine basis, taking into account how the engine was designed in the first place. Head gaskets? You'll have heaps of choices. Some are thicker (meaning you'll lose compression, and therefore torque down low), some are thinner (meaning the opposite effect - more compression, meaning more torque, and quicker to come onto boost). You don't have to spend a ridiculous amount, just make sure you're buying quality.
