  4. i've noticed when i got my new tyres that the torque split sits higher than it was with the old tyres. with the old tyres it would sit under 5 on the guage, but now when cruising it sits at around 5-10. my tyres are Toyo R1R's which are freaking awesome!! but they do have quite a high sidewall compared to the maxxis i used to have on it. the measurements are still the same 235/45 R17 front 255/40 R17 rear i dont think i have much of an understeer issue, the tyres grip really well. what does the torque split sit at when cruising at a constant speed in a GTR with the same front and rear sizes?
  5. could be a very tired motor? i got 214 rwkw out of my RB26 with -5's and running 14psi on stock (ECU, Fuel pump and injectors) with only a full exhaust and pods. then i had the motor rebuild and now am getting 250rwkw @ 13psi with the same bolt on's, just have had forged pistons put in, full race bearings, R33 crank, head has been recond, block bored, honed and hot washed. so really it just came down to the fact that the car needed a little bit of a freshen up after 20 years Brezza

TOYO R1R Dry Performance 9.5/10 Wet Performance 8/10 price for 235/45 R17 is $305 each, which isnt cheap but they do hold on really well and dont make any noise around a corner. they give you so much more confidence when coming into a corner. IMO the tyre is the best one you can get for street, they're a little bit soft, and probably wont last the longest. but even normal city driving you can feel the heat in the rubber when you stop and feel the tyre. final opinion: they're not cheap, but well worth the cash if you're after a very high performing tyre.
  8. i blew my rear turbo on my R32 GTR, its an 89 and was running 14psi so it was sure to let go sooner or later. i never tracked the car, the rear wheel came off when under hard acceleration, heard a bang and a whole load of black smoke came out the back of the car. and there was a severe drop in power. and i limped it back home which was only 500metres, it drove like a N/A. had the turbos replaced with 2860-5's and tuned running 14psi. the car was only putting out 214rwkw which isnt much at all for a GTR i know!! then about a week and a half later i spun a bearing in the #1 cylinder, coincidence?? seems a little strange that a bit of ceramic goodness couldve made the engine spin a bearing, i think that the motor was just really tired and i had a very unlucky few months! now i'm stoked, full forged rebuild and a reliable 240rwkw @ 13psi, still stock ecu and injectors and pump, soon to be upgraded. but it runs extremely smooth!
  9. it really sucks hearing about these sorts of things. at least you weren't seriously hurt. hopefully the whole SAU community can now be aware of this and keep an eye out for suspicious behavour. and avoid being car jacked or even worse, seriously injured
  10. thanks to all who organised it! was a fantastic day! i am really happy with my consistent 240rwkw, hopefully by the time the next dyno day comes around i can get the car to climb over the 300rwkw mark. i'll have to remember to wash the car next meet! Brezza

  14. I've seen a few blokes selling their GTR fuel rails. a fair few guys with RB20's have upgraded their injectors to GTR ones. i got no idea where to get the resistor packs though. I've got a GTR so i just put them in and drive.

  17. i dont think my mechanic took too long to do it? he didnt charge me any labour though, because it was supposed to be done with my build but the sensors didnt come in. i would assume it would be a bit of a pain, just like doing most work in the cramped engine bay of a GTR. i think you might need a special tool to be able to undo it? not 100% sure??   18. the O2 sensors didnt make much difference to overall power, but it definitely does feel a lot nicer to cruise around. my fuel ecconomy has improved heaps too, i did a bit of a country drive on the weekend and i've still got a 1/4 left in the tank (yes, i know its a guage reading which isnt accurate at all) but i've done 450+ kms before i would struggle to get 400kms out of a full tank, i know the country drive would've helped. the car seems to be a little more responsive at low revs too when its off boost. just feels and sounds more crisp i got genuine ones, and i'd say they're well worth the money!
  19. i've been fairly interested in this thread. My O2 sensors on my 32 GTR went bust when my turbo blew and obsiously broke the sensor. since then i got the turbos replaced to new ones, which are the 2860-5's and because the sensor was buggered the car would run like a real pig when they were plugged in. so i unplugged them. then a week later i spun a bearing! i know bad luck hey! since that i got a motor rebuild, forgies, new crank, race bearings, thicker head gasket,etc but didnt replace the O2 sensors, they've only gotten installed today, but for about a month of not having them plugged in on the new motor the car has been runing fine. getting around 15L/100km which isnt too bad, but that has been conservative driving. going to pick it up today, will post again to let you guys know if i notice any difference.

  21. hey guys, i got a set of 6 x 440cc (top feed) injectors out of my R32 GTR for sale. i think they'll fit a RB26, RB20 and SR20. they've been flow tested and work fine, no longer need them. good upgrade for a RB20 $300 BREZ mob: 0421 125 183
