  1. I've been quoted $680 for M80G in Melbourne, if I was in Sydney I'd get PPI to do it for $430 installed.
  2. Might sound dumb, but what fuel are you using?
  3. Are 235/45/17 tyres OK on the stock R34 GT-T rims ? Standard is 225/45/17. I've used a calculator which says it will change reported speed by 1%, but will this fit fine on the rim and is there any benefit or downside ?
  4. Your estimates surprised me, turns out my last post was wrong! The vicroads calculator includes stamp duty so I was adding it twice.
  5. Check under the Fee's section. Use this calculator http://webapps.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/VR...?OpenForm#calc3 Will be at least $1000 (depends on value of your car) and then I believe you need to add stamp duty.
  6. Keep an eye out on power road car sales, kamikaze, SSV, carizma just to name a few car yards. Also, have you considered importing one ? I wasn't quite sure what I was after (originally wanted a 180sx) but after sitting in an R34 then eventually test driving a few I couldn't resist buying one. If you are certain this is the car for you then take a look at importing through an agent e.g. Iron Chef or J-Spec etc. If you're simply keen on inspecting your 'vehicle to be' in the flesh that's OK too, good luck.
  7. I've seen locking caps on ebay. No idea if they're any good.

  11. I wasn't planning on going, but how can I miss seeing the GT-R
  12. Definitely spend a lot of time bargaining with auto import center. They are good at their job - used car salesmen!
  13. I'm happy I got an S2 for the 2 tone steering wheel, gear knob and white speedo etc cluster. Just that front bar looks really out of place. Mine has skyline worded badge on the back (front what I've seen in the pics, it's still in Japan), but you're right about it not having the red paint on the engine. Cheers.
  14. Thanks for the confirmation. I was looking at getting the clear ones till I realised my car already had them. But now I still have to buy them hehe Cheers.
  15. Hey, very noob question here. Can't find much info around on S2 R34's (is there an actual name for them?). Well I've got an R34 S2 in Japan waiting to get a ride on a ship down here I've been planing to change the front bar to the nismo style one (and probably side skirts to match) but I noticed today that the front indicator covers are a different shape. Does anybody know if it's a problem to install aftermarket front bars for this following skyline: I'm hoping to get it looking like this: Also, would I have to buy new front indicator lenses in addition ?
  16. From what I've seen, stock head units are black and blend in. Yours doesn't look like that.
  17. Could somebody please look up this vin for me: ER34015156
  18. Thanks for the links Reggi34dr, just the info I was looking for. ewhs check out this sublink if you haven't already: http://72.14.203.104/translate_c?hl=en&amp...SPEC/soubi.html Compares all the S2 models.
  19. As little as $15K complied (plus tires, reg) for a 1998 model through J-Spec, a few more grand for a 2000 model. R34 GT will be harder to find for a test drive I think. I do plan on importing if going R34 route, but yeah test drive will be needed to make my mind up. R33 N/A has about the same power compared to R34. R33 Turbo is over the power:weight ratio allowed on P's. If I'm going N/A I'd much rather spend a bit more to get an R34 over R33.
  20. I'm 22 years old, about to buy my first car. I've been on my P's for less than a year will be looking at 2+ years left on restrictions. I got my license before July so can drive a turbo as long as it's less than 125kw/tonne. I would appreciate any opinions pro's/cons of going R32 GTS-T vs an N/A R34 25GT (basically the old vs newer / faster vs slower question). Can spend ~$20K, but of course I would spend less if buying an R32. My main 2 thoughts are that an R34 will only be a few $1000's more for something far newer, but then there's the difference in power too. This isn't going to be a daily car, I generally use my motorbike for commuting (2007 Kwaka GPX-250R). R34 - ~1340KG 148kw = 110kw/tonne @ flywheel Pro's: - Safer (airbags, abs etc) - Looks nicer - More reliable being a newer car? Cons: - Less power - More $$ R32 - ~1320KG 158kw = 120kw/tonne @ flywheel Pro's: - More potential for engine modding - Turbo!!?!? - Older car, won't care *as* much if it gets scratched etc Cons: - Older, less safety features, less reliable due to age?
