  2. Must be bolt in????? How is it possible to satisfy ANDRA and queensland transport then? If one requires it to be welded in and the other one bolt in. Grrr
  3. Im pretty sure u can swap all the gtr stuff over, you just need to find someone upgrading there gtr to 10krpm stuff Think SK mentioned it in the past
  4. Thanks for the reply cubes. My plan is to by a bottom end and freshen it up with new pistons and shit, nothing forged just to factory like specs. It will be a motor i have to run in and all that. I have no plan to push it past SKs recomendation of 475bhp or 290rwkw or 7000rpm. Some of my biggest concerns at the momment are what oil and water pumps im going to use. I dont mind buying these pumps new as i have trade discount but i dont want to go overkill wasting money and such. Wouldnt a 7000rpm rev limiter do the job of preventing the oil pump/whatever breaking? I dont see it as much of an outlay to sent the crank to pro engines and have the work done, buy a new pump (r33 gtr?) and fit it all up along with a new r33 gtr water pump. BUT if i can get away with fitting the rb20 items i have and they be ok/reliable/suitable for the power and rpm then i might lean towards doing that. Head spin
  5. I carry all the paperwork with me in the car to support a non standard exaust. My dad also owns a dyno shop with emission and noise testing equipment. So any cop tries that shit on me and they will be biting off more than they can chew. Like i said they have misunderstood the law and are just being stingy revenue raising (unts. I know ill be taking it to court with and expensive ass lawyer if they try, How have other gone in court?

  7. Cubes, can you elborate on this a bit. When you say missed gear, you dont mean missed gear change do you? Is it worth having this colar fitted for a rb25/30 that will be limited to 475hp and 7000rpm? What about this oil restrictor kit form tomei? Or is this stuff only neccisary for the more hardcore motors using more rpm and making over 300rwkw? Cheers

  10. What did you do on this long battle? My mates mum works at queensland transport in the city and is alos friends with the people in the hoon squad. I got her to check it out for me and she provided me with paper work and so on to support a non standard exaust as long as it complies with emissions and dB levels. The real meaning of what you have been charged with is Modification of vehicle silencing device that reduces its effectiveness over standard or something along those lines. The police are missusing this as what it really means is if you had modified your aftermarket cat/resonator/muffler in a way that reduces its effectivenss over what it was like standard. Every exaust shop in town would be out of business otherwise.
  11. Thinking the same thing as i really dont want to lose my strut brace. Options are, lower the motor and probably still have to lose it, or try and find a front facing plenum to fit a r32 rb25de head. Anyone know of anyone who sells one? Maybe R.I.P.S? Will the r33 greddy one bolt up. Headspin
  12. I think your being a bit hasty with your comments about Sam. I took my car to him about two weeks ago and was very impressed. My car was on the dyno for close to 3 hours and he charged me $350 including putting in a z32 afm. He was great to deal with and kept me involved in what he was doing, in my case he spared no effort in getting the very best tune possible. I say stay with the remap because he does produce excellent results, i know i will be having him retune the ecu for a rb25/30 in the future. Dyno graph from his work on my car can be seen in the sticky rb20 turbo upgrade thread.

  14. Is the 2JZ not 86 x 86? Also talking about the cheapie rb30det build, i have been thinking the same thing. At the momment im wondering what oil pump and water pump will do the job well, i am wondering if i should use the 120k rb20 item sor rb25 or 26 ones... I have trade discount so i am thinking i will buy new rb26 items.
  15. M&M, i have a R32 gtst and have no desire to own a 32/33gtr. I have alot of respect for the car but would in no way rather one than my gtst. I really prefer the lower weight and rwd over atessa. Yes i know you can go rwd but i really do not want a 15-1600kg car rather a 1250-1350kg one. It really is each to its own, but it would be very foolish to think everyone with a gtst wishes there car would transform into a gtr. Especially when they may have spent more than the price of a gtr on their gtst. Last fact, there is many a gtst that will hose a modified gtr...

  17. Where is APC, i would love to see some pics of the cast one. Also paulr33, i need a front facing plenum like the greddy one for a 25/30 engine conversion so i dont have to lower the motor to far and can keep my strut bar.

  21. I made 206rwkw with the r32 stocker, its not the best approach though so get a bosch z32. Infact joel has a group buy going at the momment!
  22. Damn, that sucks, i really dont find it laggy at all though very compareable to the stocker. I have a Profec b spec 2 that opens the holds the wastegate shut untill it reaches .75 bar. I dont think you can tell how laggy something really is on the dyno My 2 cents

  24. He emulates them for sure, very tidy equipment he has been developing for years now. And yeah Nismoid the pressure is bumped up, it was really only significant because sam had never tuned that from stock injectors.I plan to get the injectors and cams before he is back next. That should enable me to find the limit of the 2350.
